I have used Hunters for slopping around in the mud, catching oysters and cleaning barnyards for years. Can't be beat for overall comfort and durability. Was very glad to stumble across Zappos as a source for these and very impressed with the prompt service provided. Other companies should use Zappos as a training model for customer service. I don't think you will be disappointed with Hunter boots, but should you be dissatisfied for any reason, these folks take them back, right now and at their expense. Can't ask for better than that. I rate these boots with five stars overall, just bear in mind they are rubber boots, not dancing shoes or anything you would want to do serious running in. They are outstanding for the use intended.

Read this! I love this boots! After having a horrible experience with traditional store bought rain boots I decided to spend the extra money for these. I am 5'10 with a very athletic build so I order both the 15" women boots and these 17" men boots. They are exactly the same boot with the same circumference size. While the calf is indeed tight on me I can still wear them with leggings and thin skinny jeans and they are fine. The comfort and support of the actual boot is far worth the price and they hit right below my natural knee which looks good. Zappos was amazing with sending me a new pair to try on the fit and accepting the returned pair with no cost to me. If you are unsure about the fit of this boot on you or even about the color you want go ahead and order them from Zappos because your not going to find any other online retailer that makes shopping for shoes this painless.

These are good looking rain boots and have become a fashion item. They are designed well and hold up in the garden and in the woods.

The reviews were helpful to me regarding buying the socks. This is the reason for my writing this. I bought two medium socks in different designs. They were sized totally differently. The Size medium leopard sock fit perfectly under my boots. The green socks in medium were short on me. I wear a 8 1/2 - 9 shoe and bought size 9 in the green hunter boots. They are a little big with thin socks, but fit with the thick leopard socks.

I got these boots for the constant rain at school in upstate New York. I am normally a size 11, but I ordered a 10 and 11. I ended up keeping the 10 and returning the 11 (for free). The boots came the next day and I love them.

All about Hunter

If you want a place where people appreciate the benefits of a well-fitting, waterproof boot, Scotland seems a natural choice. Mr. Henry Lee Norris most certainly thought so when he set up shop with his master boot makers back in 1856. Originally, Hunter rain boots were designed for traversing Scotland’s rugged terrain and combating its unpredictable weather. Since then, the reputation of Hunter men's rain boots, Hunter women's rain boots and Hunter children's rain boots for performance, durability and outstanding comfort has become legendary worldwide.

Although their links to the present day cover over 150 years and an awful lot of advancement, there are things about a pair of Hunter rain boots that Henry would still recognize: the care, the craftsmanship, and the refusal to compromise on quality.

The first of the famous Hunter green Wellingtons were seen back in 1956. Ever since, they’ve been mastering the art of welly making for children and adults, by using the best of new materials, introducing revolutionary technology and replying on good old fashioned hand craftsmanship. What sets Hunter rain boots apart from the competition lies in part to a closely guarded secret process. The result is a much stronger, watertight boot that will perform under the toughest conditions.

Hunter is equally proud of the things that have changed and the things that stay the same. The weather's just as wet and the Hunter rain boots are just as good! Today, Hunter remains the preferred welly brand for men, women and children who like to work hard and play hard. Wherever your pursuits may lie, be they in a distant wooded field or amidst the bustle of city streets, Hunter has the perfect footwear for keeping up with your unique lifestyle.

Lovely boots in navy and green! Make jumping into puddles fun at 23 plus. Cute with just about everything and subdued enough for NY tastes.

A really great boot. I have larger feet so I ordered from the mens selection but they are practically the same thing. I got the red ones and had a feeling that the color looked a little dull, but the when you look at it in a different light the color is more vibrant. Buy the matching socks! They\'re comfortable but they may make your feet sweat if it isn\'t that cold outside. Walking in the boots is fine with normal socks. But if you plan on walking long distances and need more foot support it maybe worth while to invest in insoles that you can switch in and out of the boots. Jeans fit well with them but if you own jeans with darker washes, be sure to wipe down the inside of the boots after wearing them for long periods of time because the coloring on your jeans may rub off in the boots. When you take them out of the box you may see an odd film or even afterwards but apparently thats the silicone layer of protection that the boot releases. There seem to be many differing opinions on the sizing of the boots (whether they are true to size or a half size down etc.), but if it doesn\'t fit send it back, because zappos will take care of it. I suggest that before buying the boots you go to the hunters website to decide which ones are best to because hunter suggests different ones for different uses and lifestyles. Hunter also has a great shoe sizing guide that will make buying off of zappos easier. I know this review was lengthy, but it addresses all of the questions and concerns you\'ll have once you put the boots on. enjoy!

I love these boots. My only very small complaint would be their height. I'm short and these come to almost the midpoint in my knee, but I often have that problem with boots. Other than that, they're great!

hot - I love these. I've had them since Jan 09. They are amazing in any sort of moist or violently wet weather. They have a look about them that turns heads. Everyone covets my hunters. In my mind, I love them because of all the years I will get out of them.

This is serious footwear. The construction is rock-solid. Sizing is accurate. Other reviewers have commented that the calf circumference is not generous and I agree. There is, however, room for pant legs of average thickness to fit inside.

I love these boots. With the rainy weather we are experiencing as of late in Chicago, the Hunter boots are a staple on many of us ladies. And let’s face it, rain boots don't necessarily come to mind when you think of being fashionable but these boots help you stay dry and some what hip. I'm a runner and my calves are a bit larger but these boots fit perfectly, even over jeans. I'm a size 8.5/9 and bought a 9 which fits perfectly. There isn't the support that I usually like in shoes but they are still relatively comfortable. I probably won't walk five miles in them but a mile or two is fine. I'm thinking of getting inserts to add a little cushioning.

Not good if you are looking for a wide calf boot - I ordered the men's boot because it stated that the calf was larger than the women's and I have a very wide calf. The calf is not wider in the mens boot at all. It felt exactly the same as the women's. I am sure that the quality of the boot is great but I had to return mine and will have to look for something else. Zappos service was great. The boots arrived the next day and I can return them for free.

Stinking Cute Shoes!!! The ultimate compliment in my family of shoppers. I actually wear these with dresses (due to our recent flooding!), and have these in red. The color is bright, they're comfortable, durable, and really get the job done. Cute, cute, cute.

Awesome - Although I have lived in Southeast Alaska for eight years (we get 13+ FEET of rain per year), this was my first pair of tall rain boots. I need something to splash in deep puddles with my nearly 3-year-old, and to take on our beach combing excursions! Most everyone I know has a pair of Xtra Tuffs, and I think they're just plain ugly ... so I settled on this much-recommended alternative. They are very comfortable, I love the color choices (I got red, and it is quite subdued -- the picture made it seem like a WHAM color, but it's really not). I found that these boots, at least for me, are true to size.

Wear your rubbers when it's raining... These boots are wonderful and a very fashionable item. At 6'4", I definitely turn heads when people see me wearing these to-the-calf boots. They are very functional and very comfortable, too. I would recommend to anyone looking for a spring rain boot.

Can't Beat The Comfort of Hunters! While I had a problem with the first order for the Hunters, Zappos did an awesome job of rectifying it. These are terrific boots. I, being from Scotland where they originate, have worn them for years, and I was delighted that Zappos have them. I have Hunters in pink and floral and then the hard core work boots. All are incredibly comfortable and endlessly hard wearing. They don’t come any better than this brand!

Wellies are Wonderful! I got these 17" diameter Wellies since my calves are super big and normal boots never fit me. While I can't fit my boot cut jeans inside, my work pants and skinny jeans fit inside. And they were warm enough during the recent crazy New York snow. Plus I love how high up they go so nothing splashes on my pants. Definitely worth the investment!

I love my boots! Be sure to order a size smaller because they do run large. I ordered them with visions of traipsing through muddy fields, but have found they performed very well throughout the winter on snowy, salty city sidewalks, too. My feet were moderately warm and impervious to snow and moisture. And they are indeed great in mud. Caveat - a friend tried wearing my boots, but discovered the boot shafts were too tight for her normal size calves. My cricket calves are fine in them.

For women too - Great, classic boots. Couldn't find my size in the women's version so went for these, and love them. Super comfortable, just the right height (I'm 5'11" and "knee high" boots almost never are...), awfully cute. I erred on the small side and they are still big (and quite wide) but I'm keeping them to accommodate heavy socks.
