I haven\\\'t used these shoes for hiking, but they look and feel great. They fit really well and feel very substantial.

I wear orthopedic insoles and this is the second time I have bought this particular boot. The support is excellent and since the insole lifts my foot up, this boot accommodates it. I like to hike in thick socks, so I got it a size larger than I wear.

These shoes were for my daughter who has Morton\'s Neuroma. They were perfect for the special inserts she had made to help with the problem. She loves these shoes!

For the money, this has been a good boot. Just did a 25+ miler over 3 days with no blisters or discomfort. Good for snow, rock, rough trail, etc. Recommend thin-sulate inner sock plus thick outer wool.

Overall I\'d say these boots are excellent. They give a firm yet comfortable feeling of support throughout the sole, but especially around the ankles. However, sometimes the ankle area will tug on the socks and can be uncomfortable if you have hairy ankles. As for water resistance, they hold out quite well.

This is a good boot. A little pricey though. In response to the guy who left the bad review, these are not work boots. You don't buy a light hiker to weld or pour concrete in. Maybe you should consider a work specific boot for work. These boots perform exactly as they were designed to.

Bought these shoes for my husband who works outside. They lasted one month before they split open at one of the seems.

Very comfortable, light weight, yet still has support. I get compliments all the time.

Out of the box the shoes were good. Then I put my foot in and it hit me in all the wrong places. There was no arch support also. I am so sending back terrible shoes. Also when you lace them up your ankle looks like it's swollen, basically the boot makes your ankle look fat and your foot like a midget. 1 star overall, 1 for comfort, and 1 for style.

I was very pleased with the shoes at first. They fit very well and they looked fine with either jeans or shorts. I wore them to work in as I am on my feet all day and needed something comfortable. However, in less than a month of wearing them, one day it felt as though one had come untied and I discovered that the entire inside of the right shoe had split apart. Could not even be repaired. I will not buy this brand again due to the poor quality of wear. Frankly, I could get better wear from cheap Walmart shoes. Nothing against Zappos...they were excellent as always, and I remain a loyal customer. A word of advice, spend your hard earned money on a quality shoe, not HiTec.

This shoe is a diamond in the rough. I found this shoe in Outside magazine in their Best Hikers for 2010 article. It's extremely comfortable, lightweight, good looking, good arch support, and excellent heel and toe shanks. And the Ion-mask water proofing really works. I took these for a 6 mile hike in Silver Creek National Park and they did great. In and out of some water and my feet stayed cool and dry. I tried on some Merrell's, North Face, and Vasque's and easily came back to these. for the price they are the best hiker out there.

Great boots at a great price. Only knock is that they have a little too much toe room for my opinion and the front of my feet shift a lot on hikes and in uneven terrain causing a little blistering on my big toe's, but by no means was it overly uncomfortable. These are great 3-season boots, but as always do yourself a favor and buy a can of suede/nubuck waterproofing spray and give these WP boots a little treatment.

Great shoes. Felt great the minute I put them on. I have wide feet and these were so comfortable.

Love these boots. I was looking for something for hiking, just walking in the woods with the kids and wearing in the garden. They are great. Sturdy, good support and not too hot. I wear them all day around the house too. Very comfy and great for over pronators too.

These are the most comfortable shoes ever; and they have a little arch support which I need. I have had to fix the stitching already after about 1 month?s worth of wear. Had to buy thread to match because the stitching just pulled out. I still love these shoes, however - and they were very easy to fix. Hoping they?ll last me all summer long.

After trying multiple high price hiking boots, I ended up back with Hi-Tec. This is my second pair of Hi-Tec boots. I hike 4000 foot mountains with these and I think they offer everything you would want in a premium boot. Super lite, super dry, excellent support, very rugged and topped of with a great durable Vibram slip resistant outsole. Save some money and give these boots a try. I marked them as ?felt wider than marked? because I usually have to get a wide width, but both my Hi-Tec?s are standard width and fit me just fine. Broke them in (leather uppers) with a simple 4 mile trail walk and was hiking a 4200 foot mountain the next day. Awesome! As far as ZAPPOS, the service could not be better! They upgraded my shipping twice free of charge and processed my returns (made as simple a can be) within days. I am pretty sure they made little to nothing (it may have even cost them money) on this transaction, but they have created another loyal customer for a long time to come.

After over one year of ownership, I really wanted to like this shoe, but it has too many flaws. I will begin with the positive attributes: look nice, waterproof, warm, I wish that list were longer. Now for the flaws: 1. Ill fitting; the arch support does not feel well-placed, making it the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. 2. Not suitable for any type of off-road activity, given that the sole is paper-thin. This means you feel every pebble you step on. This thin sole also means that it makes a poor all-around shoe, as even under normal conditions your feet get sore and fatigued from the lack of support. 3. Crappy construction: I just noticed the stitching coming apart, which, given the light use I have subjected them to, is rather disappointing.I hope Hi-Tec can keep this nice design and use it for a WELL-FITTING shoe.

I have flat feet (with a narrow heel and wide toes) that like solid, firm support WITHOUT a hard, over-pronounced arch-shaped support digging into the sole of my flat foot. Flat, soft insoles make my feet and instep ache painfully after about an hour or so of walking/standing, while high arch supports chafe and dig. I tried almost a dozen other higher and mid-priced hiking shoes, and then came across these... the moment I put them on, my feet knew! Firm support, with comfortable, highly supportive contours in the shape of the outsole and insole...comfort and support all the way!! Wore them through late fall, and winter 2009-2010-- my feet were warm, dry, supported, and attractive through trail hikes and dress-down days at the office! On the market for another pair so when the ones I have wear out (won't be before three to five years of heavy use are up-- they're durable in construction overall, though the outer layer of leather on the toe of one has a nick in it), I won't have to go on another frustrating hunt for solid, supportive, warm, comfortable, dry rugged shoes again!! DEFINITELY recommend for someone with similar foot concerns!!

Solid support, light weight, sure-footedness on trails, and cool feet in hot weather... what more could I want?? I selected this shoe from among a dozen I tried that just did not feel right on my feet. From the first time I put them on last summer the Cypress shoe has given my flat feet great comfort and support, and has allowed me to be confident on precarious trails in the woods. Shoes stand up well to rain and stream-side mud, too! I'm on the market for a second pair to have on hand when these wear out in three or four years-- I won't have to search then!

I have wanted just such a pair of hiking boots for years and these fit the bill without the high price, with good support and tread, waterproof too! I wear 11AAA and the 11 is only just long enough while wearing thick socks, so I recommend ordering one size up if you are in doubt about the length. The B width (the only choice) was just fine too! Zappos is always quick with delivery and I have never had to return anything!

My husband loves these boots, the most comfortable he has ever worn. This is the 4th pair that we have ordered, and they get worn all year round to work. He is on his feet all day, and a diabetic, so foot care is very important. These are the first boots he doesn\'t have to break in and are comfortable all day, every day. The fact that they are water proof is definitely a bonus! We are so glad to have found them. I have actually bought them as a gift for a cousin who does auto body work, and he also says the same thing and is completely sold! Thanks to Hi-Tec.\r\n
