I bought these to work and walk in. They are good looking and above all comfortable. They weigh about half as much as other walking shoes I've had. On hikes I walk 10-15 miles a day. Thats about 22,000 steps for 10 miles. Every ounce adds up to 1,300 pounds by the end of the day. If your footwear is 6 ounces lighter you have saved yourself a lot of pain. I also find that for some reason the soles of regular hiking shoes are made of a hard rubber that gives poor traction over wet rocks or metal. I do a lot of hiking and my shoes never wear out on the bottom - it's always somewhere else that gives out first. I'd rather have the traction than whatever benefit might come from the hard soles.

I've been wearing hi-tec boots daily for 3 or 4 years. I have an active job and spend a lot of time on my feet. This brand has proved both durable and comfortable in all kinds of weather conditions. Having said that, I am extremely disappointed in this latest pair. They felt pretty normal the first day I had them. However, after about a week of daily use, they became so uncomfortable that I thought the soles were defective. Zappos promptly replaced them. (Their customer service is truly outstanding.) Unfortunately, the new pair are just as bad as the old ones. I've come to the conclusion that the sole is just not sturdy enough to accommodate the aggressive tread on these boots. Once the sole starts to break in and become pliable, you can feel the tread right through it. On soft surfaces (turf, loose soil, etc), they'd probably be okay. On any kind of firm surface, (packed dirt, concrete, gravel) these are hands down the most uncomfortable boots I've ever worn.

I looked high and low for a comfortable sandal/shoe appropriate for office casual attire and walking on my lunch hour. It's good almost all year round in So. California. I'm sad on cold days when I have to wear shoes instead. I have them in 2 colors now, but will get the others that are available also. Walk on.

I ordered three pairs of hiking shoes, this pair and two by Montrail. The Montrail shoes were slighting lighter but this shoe fit like a glove. I like the way it looks and the fact that it's waterproof. I tested it and in fact, water rolled off. I have only just begun to break them in but so far they are so comfortable and easy to move in. The soles give good traction. I'll be hiking in Scotland in these. I'm not sure I'd use them for serious mountain work for but moderate hiking they seem perfect. The insoles are nicely padded and they don't pinch or squeeze. There's good arch support. Considering these were about $60 cheaper than the Montrails I am very satisfied. I give them five stars for the intermediate hiker.

I received my Hi-Techs today and it was love at first fit! Years ago I had bought some NorthFace boots that were good but slightly too long, so I would occasionally trip when walking but they were comfortable enough that I wanted more hiking boots so I bought some Merrells. I never cared much for them because they hurt and they wore out in less time than my North Face boots. So I was going to buy some more North Face but they did not have my size so I opted for these Hi-Techs and they are an excellent choice. They are everything that I wanted in all around rugged hikers. They are light on my feet but tough enough to be up to the challenge and comfortable. Of course Zappos' customer care remains tops and I really appreciate the patient assistance that I received.

Very pleased with my purchase. The delivery was timely and the shoes are exactly what I expected. I am on my feet all day. Wearing these shoes makes the day more comfortable. The design and look also makes these shoes a "functional while appropriate" look. I would definitely buy another pair.

Sturdy, nice looking, really helping me with both hiking and working in the yard when it is muddy - I wanted to meet those two goals, and these boots did it!

Bought a pair of these 3 years ago and have worn them constantly. Lots of miles on pavement, mud and rain. One of the back straps JUST separated from the sole last week. I'm buying a new pair - maybe TWO, just in case they decide to stop making them (which ALWAYS seems to happen when I find a shoe I love).

Unfortunately, I found out the hard way that these are not waterproof as specified. They are light weight and comfortable, but my feet (and the boots) were soaked after being caught in a quick rain storm(15/20min). SOAKED.

Comfortable, light, and not bulky. Not a lot of cushion, but I prefer it that way. Not a lot of arch support, but having flat feet I prefer it that way. Outsole looks like it will last for a while. Good looking. Good price. I got an extra pair for when these wear out.

The Hi-Tec Logan WP are not called Hi-Tec for nothing. Got a pair some weeks ago, light weight, strong, feel great, super comfortable and give great support. A great product.

I ordered a 9 for my 8.5-9 size foot and the size was perfect. It's not a bad looking shoe. I thought the quality of material seemed cheap, scratchy, synthetic and there was absolutely no underfoot support. Zero in arch support. If you don't need any of that, these might work for you.

I am superbly pleased by Zappos' service as well as this particular boot. I've hiked around 20 miles in it since I received it and it performs as well or better than other boots I owned that were more expensive. I particularly like the ankle support it provides coupled with easy entry that other boots do not have. The back of the boot slopes down making it easier to get in or out of the boot without affecting its performance. Frankly, I've never seen this in a boot before and it makes a big difference in comfort. There was a slight defect. The lace support in the front of the boot through which the lace passes was ripped. I considered returning the boot but tied my laces without passing it through this loop and it did not affect the lacing at all, so I decided to cut them off. It was not worth not having the boot while Zappos processed the return. Nevertheless it was surprising that this defect passed inspection either at Zappos or at the manufacturer.

Wasn't sure about the quality of these based on the other reviews but giving them a try. The medium width fits my wide feet. The foot bed is comfortable and no issues with any of the straps rubbing. Will order another color if these hold up.

These were plenty wide in the forefoot to not pinch my bunions (I was surprised, since they do not come in wide - I just ordered a regular size), and I liked that they have a cushy lining so you do not feel all the stitching and appliqued stripes on the outside. However, the middle (i.e. around my ankle) and the heel were so wide, they made my feet look chunky, and my heel slipped. If they fit you correctly, though, I would recommend them as a low-profile hiker which is what I like wear when traveling - doing lots of walking, standing in museums, and day hikes.

Ordered these as a pair of all-rounders for the countryside I work on as a retired guy. I wanted something I could use to work around the ranch and to take my hound for walks down the road. These were a fail. The big reason was absolutely no arch support whatsoever and the rest of the boot just was very cheaply made and disappointing. I wasn't expecting a home-run at the price but I might as well have strapped on the box they came in as that would have been as comfortable. Zappos once again made it painless to return and these bargain hikers need to be D/Ced asap. Won't go to hi-tec again probably.

I was surprised to find such a nice sandal for this price! I like everything about it, especially the way the straps cross at the great toe -- no pressure on the bunion area! The back straps are slightly loose for me as I have a narrow heel but I can glue in a piece of foam if this becomes an issue over time. Perhaps this looser fit will prevent the stitching from coming apart.

I used to wear Hi-Tec years ago before switching to Merrell, This was a great price and thought I would give the brand another try. As usual the shipping time is always superb with Zappos, I got the shoes the next day and tried them on, they have no padding internally and I felt like I was wearing the box more than a pair of shoes. The real downside for this is that I don't even walk, I am in a wheelchair, and the shoes hurt around the toe areas. I took them off and put my hand up inside and there is no padding, just a hard surface. I suppose they could be useful with heavy or double socks.

I've had these boots for three years. Although I only wear them maybe 10 days a year, they are great. I wear them in the rain and snow. Stays dry and warm. Only problem I have is that they seem to come untied if not double knotted.

Very warm and very comfortable. I live in a cold, snowy environment and these are the warmest boots I've ever owned. Plus they're cute!

I really like the looks of these boots, and I liked the fact that they are supposed to be warm, but how in the world do you get them on? I don't have an unusually big or wide foot, but I couldn't get my foot in the boot at all. It doesn't really open up or have a zipper or a "tongue" on the boot that lets you get your foot in. I'm disappointed. I don't know how to rate it. It looks like a great boot, but it won't work for me.
