Deerskin lining- Gentle Souls´ shoes uses supple and breathable deerskin-lined insoles providing softness and comfort while conforming to the shape of your foot. It is durable and will not stretch or crack when wet. Deerskin is normally found on gloves, jackets or shoe uppers. The deerskin-lined insole is unique to Gentle Souls shoes and sandals!
Flaxseed Memory Pillows- Flaxseed pillows are embedded in the footbed of Gentle Souls shoes to mold to the shape of your foot and provide cushioned support. The flaxseed ¨memory pillows¨ are somewhat similar to beanbags as they redistribute and adjust to the shape of your foot with every step.
Padding- Under the deerskin lining there is a memory foam developed by NASA; Poron®. This foam does not break down and maintains its shape over time.
Granulated Cork- This layer located under the Poron® helps with shock absorption when walking on hard surfaces.
Rubberized Outsole- Sometimes fused with leather, rubberized outsoles are flexible and great for traction on hard surfaces.

If you want a pair of exceptional quality, unique soles then this is the pair for you. They are practically comfortable, classically beautiful, and just trendy enough. I have flat feet, so my ankle sits a little low in the shoe, creating a tinge of a rub, but it was not a problem in keeping the shoes. I always require my new interviewees sit in my closet for a week to see if they play well with others before allowing them full reign in the house. These passed the final interview stage and the first day out on the town got a two mile walk. I am an alternative healthcare practitioner who must feel balanced for my patients, and model the paradigm that good health can look great, too. These shoes visit my clinic regularly. The straps are uber comfortable, uber fast, and the shoes are strong like the bull. They are worth every penny.

This shoe is a perfect blend of style and comfort. I bought a pair to wear for several spring/summer weddings that required lots of standing, and thus far they have been comfortable enough to survive long reception lines and many steps. I received several compliments on the style (the best was from a college student -- I am 49!), as well as requests on where to purchase a pair. The heel, while high, is easy to walk in (previous Achilles tendon surgery) because of the platform.

I was a bit hesitant because of the price but went ahead and ordered these in gold. Not one regret and these are incredible! I get a compliment every time I wear them. Seriously, every time! They are out-of-the-box comfortable and did not require any breaking-in time. The first time out I wore them with a dress to a wedding and they looked so cool! They go super well with slacks and jeans too. The footbed is nicely padded and they are easy to fasten with the velco tab. I am not used to wearing platforms and was wondering how stable they would feel but no worries. The sole is rubber that feels very stable on all surfaces. They do feel ever so slightly loose in the heel when I put them on but my foot does not slip around when I am walking so it is not an issue. This is a well-made, lovely, comfortable sandal that will get tons of wear.

At my age, 73, I want comfort with my style. These shoes give me both. Mt third pair of Gentle Souls and I expect to buy more

Just received this product and unfortunately the 9 is too big. Criss cross detail on black leather upper is very cool. Might try a smaller size!
