So, I just got the 7.5 and I love it. I normally wear a 7 in Frye boots but the 7.5 is perfect in Veronica.

I originally ordered the Shirley strappy short but the fit was too tight even ordering a size up! I went with the Veronica short instead and I'm glad I did! So cute I wear them almost every day. I wear a 7.5 or an 8 depending on the shoe. I ordered an 8 in this boot and it fits perfectly.

The perfect boot for tromping around Michigan winter streets. Tuck in skinny jeans and go! Sporty/chunky for ski resort but cosmopolitan enough to make any chick look good in the city. Many compliments.

These boots are amazing! I highly doubt I will ever wear another style of boots again. I have never spent this much on shoes before, but they are worth every penny. I have had them about two months now and love them more every day. They were painful to break in, but after about a week, they felt great. I usually wear an 8½, got these in a 9. The 8½ would not have fit. They were snug at first, but the leather stretches out as they break in. I have a wide foot and muscular calves and they fit wonderfully. They look super cute with skinny jeans, dress/skirts and tights and I plan to rock them with summer dresses too! If you are on the fence, buy them!

I have been wearing Small Frye sized boots for a long time, but wanted the extra craftsmanship and detail that goes into the adult styles. I finally bit the bullet and bought these in a 5.5 even though I feared they may be too big. As it turns out, in this particular style, the 5.5 fits my foot pretty well even though I would normally wear a kids size 2 in Frye boots. I think this is because the boots run a little narrow and I have a slightly wider foot. I ordered them in the black stonewash and ended up not liking how scuffed they looked, but a little black shoe polish did the trick making them just the right amount of "beat up" but not too much. All in all, I adore them even if they are a tad bit too big length-wise.

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I absolutely love these boots! I think they have a great mix of country chic and hard-working functionality. They are very comfortable. There is a tad bit of heel slippage which I am hoping will go away as they get really broken in. Frye boots and Zappos are a great combination!

I got these boots (in dark brown) for Christmas from my boyfriend, I'm a 6.5 and they fit true to size and I can wear them with a thick wool socks and they don't feel snug. I didn't have any break-in period with them and I found them to be really comfortable, even after being on my feet all day long in the kitchen. Great boots!
Brands I'd also recommend: None, just buy the Fryes.

I tried to buy these on Zappos in the slate color. For my color/size combination there was only one left, and when I decided to take the plunge they were already gone! Bummer! No online retailer or local retailer had these in my size until luckily, I found a tiny boutique hidden away that had one pair! Sorry, Zappos. I still do love you very much. These boots are gorgeous! I wear an 8-8½ in regular shoes, but for these I went with a 9. I have the the Frye harness in an 8½ and they fit fine, only with thin socks. I live in a place where it is winter November through April so I need to be able to wear thick socks, and the 9 allows me to do so. So definitely order a size up if you are on the fence or live in a chilly place! Otherwise, these boots are lovely and the slate color is gorgeous! It would go well with both black and brown and any other color in between. They are a little tough, but they are oh so cool. They are worth the money! They are my every day shoes, so comfortable and they add the extra punch to your look.

Alrighty, so I bought the Black Burnished Antique 6 months ago for Fall and these boots have quickly moved to the front of my boot line. They go with everything due to their almost grey almost black color. I am short, 5'4 if I stretch so I got this shorter version of the Veronica boot and I could not be happier with their fit/appearance and comfort. Something you ought to know is that this is not a lightweight boot so you won't want to be trekking 5 miles all over Paris or such as your legs and knees would get fatigued quicker than with a lighter weight boot. These are Frye's and are built to last which is why I shelled out the dough for these babies. Fit is perfect, I ordered my usual 8.5 and they fit great right out of the box. I am so sold on Frye's now that I'm looking for my second pair lol. I keep shoes for many years and these will be heirlooms someday. A+

I ordered the Veronica Shortie in the dark brown vintage and it looks exactly as pictured. The leather is very durable, but it can get marked if you're not careful. I'm a size 6 and ordered the 6, but I have wide feet and this boot was very tight when I put it on. However, the length of the shoe is perfect and the boots loosened up after I wore it all day 3 or 4 times. I was initially so-so about this purchase, but now I really love these boots and can't wait to wear it with dresses this spring!

Love these boots! Having a med-wide foot, I highly suggest going up 1/2 size. The cognac color is awesome -- somewhat of a whiskey/orange color at the top and beat up brown from the ankle down. It took a couple of pairs to get proper fit but Z's always awesome on returns. If you have fuller calves, definitely go for the shortie! Awesome boots, wish I could get every color. Beware - the distressed boots definitely have the look. If you want dressy, do not get distressed or burnished.

these boots are hardcore. They are sturdy, comfortable, and cool. I hope they last me many many years. I'm not so used to walking in such thick boots, but I've gotten used to them and will happily do so if it means my feet will continue to be protected all winter.

I love these boots! I already had these in the knee-high version, but my daughter liked them better than I did; I prefer the shorter height. Very comfortable BUT make sure you order half a size up. My usual size was way too tight, but the half size larger fits perfectly. One thing: I'm not too crazy about the white stitching around the sole, which I didn't notice until I saw them in person. Not a big deal, but I'd rather the stitching were a darker color.

I love Frye and I love these boots. I found them true to size, which isn't always the case with Frye. But I am a size 8 and in these the 8 was fine. Unlike others, I've never had trouble getting them on or off. I don't find them quite as versatile with dresses as some folks do, but they work with some. And I find that I wear these boots all the time. Great value.

Beautiful boots and VERY true to size. I ordered two pairs: my usual size and a half size up (based on the written reviews and I often where a half size up in boots, especially in Euro or AU boots). However, these fit my usual size 8, and even are a bit loose in the heel. My foot is average width. They are a heavier boot than my others -- which is why I gave 4 stars for comfort.

Love these boots! I wear them over skinny jeans or under bootcut jeans. They also look great with dresses. I purchased a half size larger than I normally would and they fit great. I initially had some difficulty getting my larger foot into them but this problem went away after wearing them a few times. They are quite comfortable with or without socks.

I usually wear a size 8, but I got the 8.5 and they fit perfectly. I have been wearing them almost every day. I don't find them hard to get on. I love these boots and I'll be wearing them for years to come.
