Gorgeous boot! Beautiful leather: soft, smells rich, my only complaint is I wish it wasn't distressed black, not so into the scuffed look for that price. But I get it, distressed equals tough, just a personal preference. Otherwise, it's sturdy, cool, fits true to size, rounded toe gives a bit of wiggle room for thicker socks, adjustable top strap allows for a bit of squeeze if you have small calves like me. I'd highly recommend ordering if you've been looking for a mid-calf boot to wear with leggings.

AWESOME BOOTIES! These are the cool booties you have been looking for! Lower heel than the Engineer booties--more like the Veronica--very cool studs... the leather has a grey-ish wax tint to it-- not a black black boot, but still looks great with black leggings or skinny jeans... I am a true 7 and this boot fit just fine. Highly recommend buying these!

I love these boots. They're really comfortable either on their own or over jeans and they look great. The distressing on the leather is subtler than it looks in the pictures, giving the boots a slightly vintage look but not being distracting. The leather is really thick and supple. I was thinking of getting regular Frye's instead and studding them myself but I'm glad I didn't because the way they're worked into the leather there's no metal at all going through to the inside of the boot and they're nicer studs than you can get for DIY.

I bought this boot in the Saddle color and loved it so much I also bought it in the Black. I wear a 7 1/2 to 8 in boots and the 8 in the Rogan fits me perfectly. Very comfortable right out of the box, love the lower heel and the studs are subtle but very cool. They are worth the price and I know I'll be getting a lot of wear out of mine

Frye runs about half a size large in general and these are no different. The treatment on this leather is definitely beat up, so if you do not like that, you need to choose another black boot. Comfortable right out of the box, but the only caveat is that I had two of the studs pop right out in the first six months of wear, luckily I caught one of them, but the other is forever missing from one of my boots.

The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.

Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.

In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Love these boots. Really well made. A bit hard to slip on at first but it gets easier as the boots break in.

If there is one pair of Frye boots you should have it is this one! These boots rock! You can dress them up or down. They are overall very sexy boots. No break in is required. They feels great the minute you put them on. But they definitely run half a size small, I am usually an 8 and needed a 7½. So make sure you size down. But do not hesitate on buying these as they are a must have!

After trying the heath tall riding boot, I thought I would go for something with a shorter shaft height, as I am only 5'3. The Rogan Engineer, however, went too far in the opposite direction. The boots made my legs look stumpy, and paired with a leather jacket, the styling of the boots looked a bit too harsh/rough. They ARE nice boots and made of good quality leather, but they would probably look best on someone much taller than myself. I am returning them.

These are really nice boots, high quality with just the right amount of embellishment to make them modern and a little edgy. They are a little hard to pull on, but overall, a good fit and comfortable. I wish they were truly black, without the roughed-up looking gray areas, but I am keeping them. I have been looking for the right black motorcycle boots for years and have tried many different pairs and brands, but I like this pair the best. They are well-made and not over the top with thick soles or too much hardware.

I bought these on sale and they were exactly what I wanted. The fit is pretty good. I have very narrow feet so most boots tend to be a bit roomy, especially in the heel and these were no different. I just wear heavier socks. They are very sturdy and well-made.

I bought a pair of these in dark brown last year, on sale. I was not sure if I would like them. With the low heel and rounded toe, I was afraid they would look clunky. But they do not! These are my favorite boots, they are so comfortable that I put them on to cook in so my feet do not hurt after standing up for hours. How is that for excellent boots? A pair that that turns heads when you wear them? I wear them with jeans, leggings, skirts and dresses as well. I like these boots so much that now I am buying black and paying full price. That is a bit expensive, but they are worth it. I am a 7½ or 8, depending on the shoes, but in an 8 these boots are oddly roomy and comfortable at the same time. They do not need to grip the heel like harness boots. There is mot much arch support but the sole is so comfortable that I have not even noticed it.

I love these boots! I've been wanting a pair of black leather studded boots for years and after buying a few pairs of trendy, cheaper boots I decided to give these a chance and I could not be happier! My style is edgy but classic and these boots are both. I usually wear skirts with converse or boots, so like to do the tough girl/feminine thing and these are great for that! They are not too over the top, but also not ordinary by any means. Beautiful details! They are comfortable too which I am really very surprised. I thought they would be tighter, or stiffer but they are great right out of the box. The toe is very roomy and rounded which is perfect for my boxy feet. I'm 5'4", 103 lbs. and these don't overwhelm my legs at all. I've tried on chunky platform style shoes and boots and they look horrible on me. But these were truly made for me. I now have my eye on other Frye Boots! The color is soft black with dusty grey shading, which looks basically black from a distance. I guess my only small complaint is that I would have liked for them to be solid black without the grey shadings. But I am 99% happy with them, and now I have an excuse to buy a pair of solid black non-distressed!
