Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

I love these pointy-toed flats. They are well-made and very stylin'. In every other pair of Fryes I own, I wear a 9.5 but in this style I needed a size 10. (I am a size 10 in about 99% of other brands.)

I am so disappointed. I absolutely love my Frye boots and I have two pairs. I am a true European size 41. Boots are size 10 and fit perfectly! The shoe upper and footbed are wonderful leather, but the sole is very thin rubber material. I was hoping for a leather sole based on the quality that I have come to expect from Frye. There is no support in these shoes, but that is not a bad thing based on what they are supposed to be. I will be returning these. I am willing to pay more for quality in a shoe!

Very nice flat -- well constructed and good quality leather. I bought the gray, which matches the photos exactly, and it's a nice neutral color that will go with many outfits. The only problem I had was with sizing...if you don't have wide feet, stick with your normal size. I am normally a size 6 and the 6.5 was too big, so I sent them back for my real size.

This is a beautiful shoe, but runs slighly tight in the toe box; I may have to have it stretched so I can wear them all day. Shoe length is perfect (I'm a 6.5). There's also a sharp plastic thread on each shoe at one side that I may have glued back so it doesn't poke my foot. However, the shoes are pretty, just dressy enough, and I plan to wear them all summer long.
I'd also recommend: Joan and David, Born

I ordered 1/2 size up since so many people mentioned it ran narrow. No need. I'm sending them back for my usual size 8.

Love them! I was hesitating to pay this much for "just flats" but I love Frye and decided to give it a try. They are worth every cent. Great quality. I got the camel color and am ordering another pair in black right now.
