I bought these boots for motorcycle riding and that alone. But they have been so comfortable, with such high quality look and feel and construction, that I now find myself wearing them around town as well (and I usually wear sandals and slip-ons the majority of the time that I am not riding here in SoCal). They look great with jeans. These are some of the most comfortable boots I have ever worn, and the quality is obvious. Fryes are worth the extra money, in my opinion. I have had other riding buddies who have had these boots and wore them for ten years and more, taking proper care of them. I wore my last pair of Georgia steel toes for riding for over 10 years, so I hope to get that kind of use from these. They certainly look and feel like they're up for that long of a ride! These are thick leather boots, so they do require some break in. Just the same, I wore these for more than 8 hours some days, after just a few days of wearing them around the house for a couple/few hours a day on and off, for break in. Other than an initial hot spot or two, they were remarkably comfortable right out of the box and this has continued to improve over time. Now they are as comfortable as any shoes I own, or perhaps even more. They ran true to size for me, a 10.5. I have a quite a narrow heel, so I was concerned about pull on boots. My heel does move slightly in the boot when walking, but I have no discomfort or ill effect from it whatsoever, even when I am doing quite a bit of walking. On the bike, these boots are a dream. They sit on the pegs just perfect and feel balanced and effortless for shifting and braking. Paul in customer service (a former electrician who lives in boots) discussed sizing, construction, care, and break in with me for some time before I bought these. His suggestion for size was perfect and it was great to talk to someone who is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable. He even placed my order for me at the end of the call. Zappos, you continue to be the best of the best in customer service and creating happy customers! This is another of many purchases I have made here. I shop around, but always wind up back here and have never regretted it. Thanks so much!

Just an awesome pair of boots! They slipped on without an issue right out of the box and have barely been off my feet since. They look great with a pair of jeans and are perfect for going out or just relaxing at home. Saving up to by another pair in brown!

The best boots ever, however after the extremely helpful customer service people at Zappos sent me a second pair so I could do a side by side comparison I decided to go with a 1/2 size down and I am so glad I did! Zappos is the best ever internet retailer an if you are going to buy Fryes or anything else you should buy them from Zappos!

These right here are some good boots. I got them overnight and they fit just right. I had to order down .5 a size because they run a bit big. Highly recommended if you’re looking for good boots.

5 Star Boots - I recently purchased the Frye Harness 12R in "Earth"(my favorite) and in "Black"(for work). I cut off the harness on the black pair to dress them up a bit. Although the website is nice, the pictures do not show the true beauty of these boots. As for service, Zappos is 5 stars. Other companies should take heed of their shipping because nothing else compares. If you intend to add insoles to these boots I strongly recommend you to purchase a size larger because the insoles will cause major crowding. This is very important for someone on their feet 8 to 12 hours a day. Excellent boots. Excellent service. Thank you Zappos!

About Frye
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.

Let's try this again. The first pair of these boots I ordered had problems with the heels falling off, I got the next pair ( Fast as always ) and wow these are a whole lot better quality, heels are on right and the boots still fit perfect and trust me they look a Whole lot better than the picture, great boots! Thanks Zappos for your fast shipping and GREAT customer service. I will shop again very soon.

Accept no substitute! I normally wear a 10.5 but got 11 wide since they are a 'slip on' boot, plus a little more room for socks; during summer months I go sock-less and they feel great. I have only seen a few people rocking these so there is a bit of reaction from the public with these boots which has never happened to me with any other style of foot wear. I would suggest not to go hiking in them as I did once last summer; my knees killed afterwards which is unusual for me. I have had these for a year now and can say they are pretty comfortable and look great. I clean them once in a while with neatsfoot oil and that keeps 'em just fine. If you can't take bad/hardcore vibes from people then these boots aren't for you since they are traditionally a bike's boot.

ANOTHER FRYE! SAME RESULT! WOW!!! Just received my second pair of Frye’s! I just bought the Gaucho color a week earlier and I had the same reaction, this boot is amazing, Comfort, Style simply cannot be beat. A little tight getting into depending on your sock you decide to wear, but I feel the boot is comfortable right out of the box and will be even better when broken in Great with Jeans and while riding the bike! Quality is top notch and you will be very happy, I was so pleased after I purchased the gaucho color; I felt I needed to have them in Black and I was right they are just perfect... Zappos has been great, slight confusion with the pair they sent but they quickly exchanged them and I received the boots the following day! Zappos is a Wow company only delivering amazing customer service 1 click or phone call at a time. Now that I discovered Zappos I will never by shoes at a store again... Thanks Zappos!!
Brands I'd also recommend: Your choosing the best, No need to look elsewhere.. Treat yourself to a Frye !

Fantastic!!! I would have given 5 stars all around but I would like to have more arch support for a boot in this price range. I normally wear an 11 in other shoes but I had to go down to a 10 in these. It was explained to me that they are sized slightly larger because most people wear thicker socks with them. I bought some arch supports to go in them and I wear them on stage with my band for 4 hours a night. Real, classic style and the finest quality materials without a doubt.

A bit snug to get on and off the first few times worn, but nothing out of the ordinary. Very well built and more comfortable than expected for moderate walking (and dancing). Definitely recommended as a good looking, well made boot for riding.

There is not a lot of padding in the insoles, so my husband is still breaking them in. He loves them. They look just right and feel pretty darn good. Service could not have been any better.

A good comfortable pair of boots. The width and size run true for my size 10 foot. You might want to go up a half size, if you plan on wearing heavy socks.

These were a gift for my husband. He usually wears a 9 1/2 (in Merrels) but the 10 in Frye's fit him just right. The boots were very comfortable to him. We are both very satisfied!

Great boots with great soles for the motorcycle. Other pairs of Frye's have more "fancy" soles, not really built for my use (trust me I returned a couple pairs). Great construction, great fit. Frye's are the best.

These boots are exactly what I was looking for. Since I have very big feet, I was worried that they would be too tight like the Red Wing harness boot I used to wear, but they fit perfectly with no break-in. I only wish they had a little bit better cushioning, which is the only reason I gave them 4 of 5 stars for comfort.

I have owned Fry's for over 10 years but I needed to go to a size up and I could not get these boots in my area. I won't purchase Harley Davidson brand because they are imported but Fry is made in USA and of top quality. Size was right and Zappos has fast shipping at great prices.
