Fabulous boot. I do wish it was a taller boot (knee-high) but the quality of the boot can't be beat. The fit itself is a classic Frye fit: comfortable from day one; I could (and have with other Frye boots) walk for miles in this boot straight out of the box. The circumference around the top of the shaft is a bit big (and I have wide calves), but it gives it a slightly slouchy well-worn look which exaggerates the straps. Another fantastic boot to add to my Frye collection.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS! They fit great, they are stylish, they look awesome with dresses, what more can I say!? Like other reviewers have said, they will look awesome with skinny jeans and with a dress. I did take the advice of some others and had skids put on the soles of the boots, that way, they will last longer and they aren't slippery to walk in. Considering how much you pay for these, go invest $15-$20 more and have some skids put on the sole! As for Zappos, unbeatable customer service as always! Oh and as for comfort, they are very comfortable!

These boots are everything I love about Frye; my fourth pair. I have skinny legs and they are much larger around my calves, but it looks great. They're comfortable, I could walk in them all day. Also very stylish, I get so many compliments and my skinnies fit perfect in them. Very well-made, everyone should own a pair; the more you wear them the better they look! Zappos has unmatched service for online shopping; I ordered them and they were delivered the next day! I have used Zappos for the past four years and I've never been disappointed. I highly recommend Zappos to all my gf's.

Love these boots! I saved enough money to finally buy them, and have gotten tons of compliments. They look great with skirts or with jeans tucked into them. Can\'t complain one bit. \r\n\r\nSuper comfy too.

This boot is multi talented. I love these boots for comfort and style - I wear them for casual dining with a stroll downtown as well as stepping out to the World Paint Show where I do a lot of walking. I got TEXAS sized compliments as I scooted thru the hotel for a dressy dinner party when I paired these "go with everything" boots with a country print skirt and silky top. Love the compliments, comfort, and "Town & Country" flair of this boot!!! It fits true to my size and has a defined arch in the footbed.
Additional Brand Information
The Frye Company was founded in 1863 by John A. Frye, a shoemaker from England. Frye is the oldest continuously operating shoe company in the United States. Frye products have a long and illustrious history. Frye boots were worn by soldiers for both sides of America’s Civil War, soldiers in the Spanish-America war, and for Teddy Roosevelt and his Rough Riders. Many New England families during the mid and late 1800’s wore Frye boots as they pioneered across the country to the West.
Frye's current Harness Boots are rooted in tradition and continue to draw influence from the Cavalry. Today the classic Harness Boot holds a place in American culture. The Frye Harness Boot has been pictured in fashion spreads internationally. In 1938, on a trip to Washington, D.C., John A. Frye's grandson and namesake met a U.S. Navy Admiral who confided that he had trouble finding the Wellington boots he liked so much. As a favor, John agreed to make him a pair. Frye continued to fill requests for these boots through the Second World War. During World War II, Frye supplied thousands of servicemen with Frye Wellington boots, known as Jet Boots, by mail order.
In the 1960's, Frye reintroduced the Campus Boot, from its 1860 original, featuring a bulky toe and chunky heel that came to epitomize the attitude and the style of the 60's and 70's. There was nothing like these "new" Frye Boots on the market, and consumers began to demand "Original Fryes." When searching for items to represent the America of the 60's, the Smithsonian Institute chose a pair of Frye Boots.
The quality of all Frye shoes is timeless. For almost 150 years, Frye leather products have continued to be benchcrafted from the finest full grain leather uppers. It takes over 190 steps to make one pair of Frye boots. Frye remains dedicated to the commitment of craftsmanship for which Frye boots and Frye shoes have been known for more than 100 years.

Wow! These were my first pair of Frye boots, and I am absolutely satisfied that I made the investment. They are fabulously well-made and comfortable as well. When I slipped them on right out of the box, I thought that they must have been custom-made for my foot. I ordered a size 9, which is my normal size, and they fit perfectly. The style of the boot is definitely eye-catching. The three buckles and straps, and the detailing on the back really stand out. You can wear these boots with skinny jeans and a t-shirt and because of their detail - voila! - Your outfit is done. I purchased the grey ones, but really they are like a very distressed black and have that slightly "broken-in" look to them. I do agree with the other reviewers that they are for girls with muscular calves though. Mine measure about 15 1/2 inches at their widest point and these boots have ample room. I could see how ladies with thinner legs might be overwhelmed by these boots and end up looking more swashbuckler than fashionista. And thanks to Zappos, I got my books via second day air, free of charge! Why anyone would order elsewhere is beyond me. This company has the best customer service of any online merchant I've ever encountered.

GREAT Boots!!! I absolutely love these boots! I don't normally wear heels so I was concerned about the 2 1/2" heel on these, but that has not been a problem. They are not tight around the calves. They fit fantastically. These are top quality. If you buy cheap boots, they fit your feet about as well as the box they come in.

These are the best boots ever. I thought they might be uncomfortable the first time I wore them, but they were perfect the second wear on. I recommend protecting the soles though because I wore mine down quickly. They look great with leggings and skinny jeans. I’m sure they look great with skirts & dresses as well, but it’s been too cold for me to try it out. Worth every penny. I actually buy clothes around my boots, and trust me, I have plenty of other shoes to choose from!

Worth it! These boots are perfect for someone who has muscular calves! Mine measure 15 1/2". I have such a hard time finding boots that don't cut off my circulation. They are roomy through the shaft but they fit true to size in the foot, I didn't need to go down a size. I do agree that if you have thinner legs they would look slouchy and a bit bulky. They look great with tights and a skirt too. They are also quite comfortable. I have an old pair of shorter campus boots and they aren't nearly as comfortable. Be sure to get non skid soles put on, they will make the boot last longer because you aren't meant to walk on the leather soles.

Shoe Size: Felt a half size larger than marked Shoe Width: Felt true to widthFun and Fabulous - These boots are very cool. I am only 5 feet tall with thin legs, so I wanted boots that weren't too tall. I liked the effect the buckles have of breaking up the "leg-of-leather" look that so many boots can give you. The distressed brown is really beautiful. The boots are a bit wide at the top for my skinny legs, but I remedy it by wearing a couple different pairs of tights for that layered look under short-ish skirts. The boots also look terrific with leggings and a short dress or tunic. I'm not really a boots over jeans kind of girl, but there is certainly enough room for me to wear these that way if I wanted to. I ordered these in a 7, my usual size, and they feel a little roomy, but with my heavy socks (or doubled up tights) they fit great.

Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Shoe Width: Felt narrower than markedCool Boots - I usually wear a size 6 or 6 1/2, but I knew from past experience with Frye boots that they run a little small, so I ordered a size 7, and they fit perfectly. These boots are cute and casual, and look good paired with skinny jeans or a skirt.

Not for long thin legs. But the style kicks a##. Gorgeous boots. 100% reliable Frye shoe, well made, well structured...but sadly (sad for my Frye desire) these boots are very wide on the shaft. You can definitely put your jeans inside w/out a problem, they are that roomy, but I do have long slender legs. For women w/ healthy thick or muscular calves…these boots will fit lovely.
