\r\nThese shoes are comfortable and very attractive. The challenge is getting the right size. I started with an 8, then tried an 8 1/2 and finally ended with a 9 that fits perfectly (like an 8 normally).

I like the shoe, comfy, but it does run very wide! I ordered 1/2 size larger then my normal size, which I needed.

When I first got the shoe I noticed it pinched the back of my heel. After a few wears I guess my foot built up a callous there so it doesn't pinch anymore. However, I cannot wear this shoe for more than an hour of walking because the top pinches into the top of my foot leaving a red line that stays sore. The shoe is the correct size, and it's soft and comfortable in every other aspect, except for the lining around the top, which is what is pinching into me.

Poorly made. I read the reviews and ordered a 9 (normally wear an 8 in mid to higher-end brands, 8.5 in the cheaper ones) and was amazed at how small the shoe was. Returned and ordered a 9.5 and it was still way too short. I also noticed flaws in the stitching and glue marks on both pairs I'd received. Lumpy stitches and incredibly inaccurate sizing show there is absolutely no attention to craftsmanship with this brand. Save your money and get a better pair of flats for less.

Love these shoes & have worn them almost every day since they arrived. Very comfortable and look cute with just about everything. I have a hard time with ballet flats because many of them don't cover enough of your toes to be comfortable walking shoes, but these do! The only negative is that they run big and are sort of loose on my feet. I even put in shoe pads and they still feel loose. I would order a size down, or get 2 pairs & plan to return one.

Based on other reviews, I ordered a half size up. They are a bit loose but work. Great for travel as my feet always swell.

I just received my taupe grey Zeppas today as I am planning on wearing them for a trip to NY at Thanksgiving time. I was pleased with the color and overall quality. They are soft like butter. The shininess is subtle and adds just enough textural interest to the shoe. I liked the fact that they came up higher around the foot. More support and a little more warmth although you wouldn't wear these with socks. They don't leave you with the dreaded toe cleavage. The low wedge is nice and gives you a little lift and support. I ordered an 8.5 as I am an 8 in sandals like flipflops but wear an 8.5 in sneakers and boots. They fit just right with no room to spare. I decided to keep them in 8.5 because I felt that if I ordered a half size up, they would end up being too big in the length. These are so soft that they will stretch out a little after the first few wears. I am taking my chances. Overall, I am happy with my purchase; just think they are a little overpriced.

I wish I could get these in every color. These are the most comfortable shoes I own! From the very first day you wear them, you will adore them. No breaking in period. In addition, they are adorable ballet flats. I currently own them in black and a brushed gold metallic, and find myself reaching for one of those two pairs almost every day. I have owned the gold metallic for almost two years now, and they still look brand new, and have held their fit beautifully. Wear them with anything you wear ballet flats with. My personal fav is to wear with skinny jeans. Do not hesitate to buy; they are worth every penny!

I ordered these shoes because of the style and leather lining. I have high expectations of the overall quality. I read the reviews before purchasing my first pair. At age 64, I am lucky to have very good, healthy feet and no need of support. I take an 8.5 - 9 Narrow shoe, and chose to order a 9 in this model. They feel just right! They wouldn't stay on my feet if I ordered a full size up, as recommended by many customers. My big toe is right up to the end of the shoe, but they feel very comfortable. If your feet are narrow, I recommend buying your normal size!

These are very comfortable shoes that make you feel almost like you are barefoot. They do run small, so I ordered one size up and they fit perfectly. I have gotten several compliments on them and they go with everything.

I was a ballet dancer when I was younger and I just knew I\'d love the style and fit of these shoes. I ordered a 9 and I am usually either an 8 1/2 or a 9. The 9 was a little snug but they have stretched out a bit and are comfortable. I do wish that they were a bit cheaper, but I am pleased with the purchase overall.\r\n

These shoes are great looking flats, although they are not as marbled in person as they appear in the picture. There is also not a lot of support in the shoe, but I did not expect there to be. I also agree that you need to order 1/2 size up. They were still snug at first, but loosened up perfectly within the first wearing.

I felt these were a little snug so I'm ordering the next size up. I will take in to consideration some people felt they stretched out a bit. So maybe snug at first is okay. I was definitely hesitant on spending this much on shoes that look just like the ones I got from Target for probably one fifth the price. The quality is better though.

I originally purchased this great shoe using my normal shoe size of 8 1/2. The shoe runs long and I had to return it for a size 8 which fit perfectly. This elegant little slipper shoe is incredibly comfortable and can be worn dressed up or dressed down. I've had so many compliments on this shoe! A great find and definitely worth the money.

I love the comfort of these flats! I've been looking for a pair of flats that wouldn't be so narrow! I have somewhat of an average wide foot. These flats are perfect. They make my foot look just perfect. I've received a few compliments. I'm astonished, since I bought the plain suede ones. So I can only imagine how many compliments Ill get on my next pair! I'm an 8 1/2 with a thin pair of socks or pumps without socks! and I wear a 9 nine if I'm using a thicker sock with the shoe. So I read the reviews stating that they run small and I went with a 9. They seem just perfect on my bare feet, not too tight. I can tell they'll be great after a few wears. I highly recommend these flats to anyone. Stop searching! These are perfect!

These shoes are fantastic! My feet are a bit wide, and these do not pinch, unlike other ballet flats. They are extremely comfortable, almost feels like you are wearing slippers to work! And I get complimented on them all the time. I will be buying more French Sole Shoes.

I wanted to love these shoes, I really did. They have all of the potential to be loved by me, really they do. I like the patent version and also the suede version alike. My problem is that they come up too far on my foot and seem like I'm wearing a slipper instead of a flat, and it just seems odd for some reason. They feel really great on, and the tiny wedge is just the right height so you don't see it, and they look flat, but give a little lift, and shape your legs a bit. I love the idea of these shoes, but sadly, they are too slipper-like for me to hang on to. Maybe I just need some toe cleavage?

I wrote a review about how darn cute these shoes are and I'm so sad that I'm returning them, and the Tourist, because they are just not comfortable. My Acorn slippers have more support. What a shame, because they are super cute and the metallic color is great. Way too flimsy. I wore them shopping all day today and my feet are killing me. Boohoo.

Not for all day walking! I felt so guilty buying such expensive flats but once I tried them on, they were so darn comfy I had to keep them. So we go on vacation and me and my flats spent a lot of time walking, and well, the width is great. My feet are small and wide so I thought it was adorable that the shoes looked like my feet before I even put them on! Unfortunately, it was a bit rainy one day on vacation and the suede didn't hold up so well. I'm going to find some suede cleaner (?) and try to fix my little spot o' water. Also, we did a lot of sightseeing and I found these shoes to be a little on the uncomfy side on the top of the shoe, probably because I was still breaking them in, and my little toes wanted to be in open-toes that day. But overall, a good shoe. I would be a lot more happy about this purchase if these shoes had been about a third less. To me, that's what they are worth.

I am in love with these shoes! They fit my feet perfectly and are so cute, for dresses, skirts, or jeans. They are 100% true to size. I am definitely ordering them in other colors! I just needed some cute brown flats, and I got these in the Brown Tejus. Definitely 100% worth it!

I have the Sloop in bronze metallic suede and they are unique and looked beautiful in the beginning and although didn\'t stay that way they still look ok and I still wear them. Needing a black flat and still wanting something that looks unique and beautiful I saw these and thought they would look like black marble with the same dark/lighter pattern as the brown and dark red ones. In reality, they are super shiny and very black without any discernable markings of lighter color. They almost look like shiny black plastic! They are also too tight in the toe area and don\'t fit in my size as my other pair does so if I did like them, I would have to go up at least 1/2 size in these.

Such a cute shoe. Too bad it's too wide. I have somewhat narrow feet, but usually standard widths fit me fine. These are just too wide. Also, as said in other reviews, they really feel like a slipper and not necessarily a shoe with the kind of support I would want if I was walking around in them all day.

The rose fell off and the shoe runs small. I ordered these; wore them 3 times and walking in the dark to my car the rose on one of them fell off. Boo! I loved these shoes, but with no rose on one foot, these shoes are worthless.

About French Sole

For over 25 years, French Sole Shoes, a tiny store in New York City’s swank Upper East Side, has been home to the world’s largest collection of ballet flats. From New York’s social elite to movie star icons and even royalty, all have flocked to French Sole’s unpretentious haven for the best ballet flats found anywhere. Via its iconic store and globally through its FS/NY brand, French Sole sells a wide array of ballet styles in over 300 treatments, ranging from animal prints to its own exclusive materials. Fusing true fashion with cozy comfort, French Sole puts the emphasis on proper fitting.

The design of the shoes is what makes French Sole stand out from the plethora of companies that have sought to emulate their formula for success. Only French Sole combines a true ballerina fit (each shoe molds to the wearer’s foot) for the ultimate in comfort with cutting edge fashion and a selection that is unmatched – qualities that clients come to expect and appreciate from French Sole Shoes. But aside from the myriad variety of ballet and other shoes available, it’s the people behind French Sole that have really made it a success.

French Sole Shoes is owned by Randy Ochart, who has passionately focused on designing, manufacturing and marketing the hottest ballet flats in the world from Spain, Italy, France and Brazil. When asked about the future of ballerinas as a category, Ochart explained, “In a phase when it seems that everybody feels the need to re-invent the ballerina, we stand alone as specialists. The extraordinary factories we have worked with for so many years understand the distinction between a ballerina and a flat shoe with a string attached.” The fit, look, and “hand” of a ballerina is what French Sole is about, not just a hot trend.
