Not sure why other reviewers are saying these are small - I normally wear an 8.5 (8 in heels) and have athletic calves, and the 8 fits well with some room. I got these looking for a solid, good quality pair of brown leather boots, they are very pretty in the soft, distressed state. I wanted a more polished look though, so I went over them with saddle soap, and the results are gorgeous.

These are super cool shoes. Nice height, I normally wear a 9 1/2 but wanted shoes for summer I could wear without socks. These fit the bill perfectly.

Beautiful, beautiful shoe unfortunately the heel is too high for me. I love the distressed detail I just cannot wear this height heel for an extended period of time.

I love the rustic style of these and they look well-made, too. The problem is that they are rather narrow. I am usually a 7-7.5 and I found the 7 to be long enough, just not wide enough, so I'm going up to an 8 in hopes that that helps the issue. If you have narrow feet, I don't think you would find the width to be an issue and should order your normal size.

I wear 7 1/2, thus ordered the 8, and without socks they are 1/2 size too big, and with thin socks they are still too big, Also I have thin ankle so these boots look too chunky. All in all they are even better looking in person, I ordered the Tan/brown.

I am dizzy over this shoe. The leather s like butter and it is adorable on. The really amazing thing about this shoe is that they thought of everything. See those little buckles on the ankle? They are on snaps...so easy to get on and off without gyrating...I am also a little wide and they fit perfectly! Voila! Got them in 2 colors.

After reading 2 previous reviews, I was hesitant to purchase these boots, but I have 2 pairs of boots/shoes from Freebird & was pleased, so I took the leap. Besides, the price was right. I was not disappointed! The leather was substantial but not stiff and other than being narrow in width I found them to be comfortable & true to size. Just 1 recommendation, if you think you might be wearing a heavier sock, you may want to order a size up. If a size 8 1/2 had been available I would have opted for that size so that I could wear the boots in colder weather. These boots fit the bill for a boot that can be functional yet stylish. I can't say enough about the Freebird brand, I love the worn, lived in look, but with flair & comfort. This brand seems to deliver consistently.

Be warned that this shoe runs about a half size too small and is very narrow. I am super bummed because they were exactly what I was looking for and look adorable, but are super uncomfortable and may end up returning them.

Cute boots! The style is adorable...I was nearly tempted to keep them just to wear for 5 minutes once in a while - they are that adorable! But my practical side took over. Unfortunately the fit was just not quite right. The left boot felt about a half size small from a 7, and the right felt like a 7 - which is actually a little loose on me, but needed for width. The arch hit a little off, and I could tell that the boots would have to come off before the end of a long night because they just wouldn't be comfortable. I'm sad, really. Hope I can find some red boots for scootin'!

Boot is a show stopper! People ask all the time where I got such an edgy cowboy boot. It's a perfect mix of urban and country and they look great with everything.

The shoes were on the porch when I got up and I was so excited. I grabbed the box and opened it up. I saw the most gorgeous boots I had ever seen. The curved toe, the slits in the boot and the heel were perfect. I tried them on and my foot slipped in with no problem. The zipper in the back really helps to put them on easily. I walked around in the house and tried on some skirts and jeans with them. They are so comfortable and adorable I don't want to take the off. They have the buttery leather inside for extra comfort. Overall this shoe is comfortable, very stylish, and very cute.

I don't find these stiff at all, but I don't care for the boot itself. The top has no "shape" to it; just a square top which isn't flattering on most legs, including mine! Don't really care for the goring either. Will go with a plain pair of brown boots, as I wouldn't wear these boots with dresses, and with jeans, I'd rather have a "true boot". Run true to size.

I LOVE the idea of this boot so much. I usually wear a 7.5 and the 7 did fit length-wise. However, my feet looked incredibly angry. I don't have particularly wide feet (and my pinky to just made it to the strap so did not fly out!) but man, I could see those straps cutting into my feet and making them very red. They are sadly going back. It wasn't pretty.

These boots have a very unique look that I fell in love with as soon as I saw them. I ordered a size 8, my usual size, and they fit my foot perfectly and were very comfortable except for the ankle area. I experienced pain at the bottom of both my ankles with every step I took. Sadly, I reluctantly returned them concerned that for the price I paid they may end up in my closet graveyard of ill-fitting shoes. I would highly recommend giving these boots a try, it sounds like they fit everyone different. Also, just to mention, the top ankle strap did fit quite loosely, even on the last notch, but I do have skinny ankles. I would have poked another hole in the strap if I had kept them.

Didn't feel a full half size smaller, but just a smidge. Half sizes aren't available, so I'm going to take them to a boot shop to see if they can be stretched a little bit. I've done it with other boots and it works well. They are a real eye catcher and I want more of this brand!

I ordered these in the size 11 as I am usually a 10.5 or 11. In the past, Freebird was really tight in size 10, and wasn't remotely doable for me. Unlike "ASH" Freebird seems to have "gotten the memo" and now in my experience, their boots and shoes are correctly , if not generously sized. I LOVE these boots. I have them in the khaki color and they are super comfortable, breezy and unexpected. The perfect summer shoe for the year round boot addict. I am very pleased! Seeing that the black is still available in the 10 , and knowing they are correctly sized, I am very tempted to get them and have them stretched that half size. I know I will wear these constantly all summer with EVERYTHING!

I just received these and I cannot stop raving about them! They are well-made, perfectly distressed and I haven't seen anything like them out there. I ordered the black distressed and they are definitely darker than pictured, but I was pleasantly surprised. Must have!

I have such mixed feelings about these. First the bad: The color looks nothing like the picture. I loved the neutral color shown...like a taupe grey. But they are black! The taupe is only the distressed patches and that's about 10% of the shoe. So know you're getting a black shoe. This was disappointing as I was looking for exactly what the photo shows, more neutral, to wear with everything. The second negative is there is no padding or cushion in the footbed. They're really hard and not overly comfortable. My gripe with that is...they're expensive! When you're spending this much on shoes, they should be incredibly comfortable. Big mistake on the brand/manufacturer/designer. And thirdly, obviously the price. They are way too much for what you get. They don't feel high-end, and I feel should fall into about the $79 category. Also they were pretty wide even on the closest buckle hole, so I had to poke new holes in the straps to have them fit my narrower foot. That all said, the plus side is they are extremely cute! They're unique and can be dressed up or down, if a little bohemian is your style. I debated on whether or not to keep them because of the above listed and really hefty price point. While I don't think the shoe is worth that much money, the style ended up being worth it for me! So I do love them, but can only wear when not walking far. Just know that you're not getting this much money's worth in comfort and the color is very different than pictured, but they are really cute and a certain "look/style" that's hard to find...so may be worth it for you too.

I feel that these boots are extremely comfortable. I have many of the Freebird boots and have always been able to take of the box and wear them all day long no problem.

These are very comfortable shoes. They provide a good balance and walk flow, though there is not much arch support so I might get tired walking around in them all day, but this could be due to my arch not falling in the right spot (I am a 9½, these in a 9 were just a bit too small, no half sizes). The leather on the tan is gorgeous. Beautiful wax/finish verigation, nice rich tone. The leather was pliable and immediately comfortable in the pair I received - no break-in required, I am not sure what other reviewers are talking about in regards to stiffness. I own several Fryes, and while these are comparable they are definitely not at the same level of quality craftsmanship and materials, though they are better made than Bed Stu or Vintage Shoe Company. I think they should be less expensive considering the quality, but overall these are nice shoes.

I am a boot girl at heart, but every year I make a few attempts at finding summer shoes. I think these just may do the trick. I do not really like dainty shoes and have more of a boho/moto/rock look, so most sandals and flats feel too fussy for me. After reading the reviews I ordered a size 6 and 7. I am often a 7 in street shoes and a 7½-8 in boots, but can sometimes fit a 6 in heels. I also do prefer to have an arch support insert (I stand all day), so sizing with that in consideration can get tricky. I do not have wide feet by shoe sizing standards, but have a compressible metatarsal with tapered toes and a narrow heel. I felt like these ran a bit narrow in the metatarsal, but as some reviewers mentioned, the upper straps had some extra room in the ankle. The top strap has a buckle, but it would be even nicer if the top two straps had buckles. For me the 7 felt and little loose on the top my foot, and I put a thin arch insert in which helped a bit overall, but the top straps were still just awkwardly loose in comparison to the top strap that I could adjust to fit my ankle. I ended up preferring the fit of the 6, even with the arch insert. It helped give more support in the footbed (these have basically none) and took up some of the extra room in the ankle straps. There is still a bit of looseness there, but not as bad as with the larger size. I got the stone color which is a nice distressed charcoal color with a tiny hint of brown undertone. I had not seen the Freebird brand before, but am pleasantly surprised with them. The materials and construction feel decent. Worth the purchase with the sale price.
