Incredibly cute and very distressed. Ankle style is fine, but Size 6 is just a bit too small. Half sizes not available, so no way to try that The sole is very stiff, so break in would take far too long a tad narrow.

Size 11 is true to size, if not a tad long. The area just above the criss-cross straps bulges out and does not look good, though. It makes it fit oddly. The top part fits the ankle but the bulge below destroys the look. Too bad. True to width since my almost wide feet felt a little snug.

Beautiful boot, but sizing didn't work for me. Normally I'm a 9. So I ordered a 9. Like their other boots I found them to be a full size too small. So I ordered the 10 which felt like a 10.5 with socks! So these guys aren't for my foot. Bummer.

I love these boots. I broke this pair in really quickly - maybe two wears and they were molded to my feet. I wore them to a two day event right after, was on my feet all day in the sun, running around. They were comfortable and felt supportive. I highly recommend them.

I read every review I could find on this boot before ordering and I am so happy I took a chance and treated myself to these! Hope this helps someone (who likes long, detailed reviews): I always get an 8M in boots because they give me a little wiggle room, which I like in a boot. Taking into account other reviewers who found them too small, I wanted to and would've gotten an 8.5 if they made half sizes. They don't. So I took a deep breath, worried they'd be too small, and ordered an 8 like I always do. They fit perfectly. I never thought of myself as having very narrow feet and they fit me like any other size 8 boot, with the bit of wiggle room that I crave. But they are fitted! They hug your foot and ankle more than, say, a Frye boot so that may take some getting used to. But I put them on with my thickest socks (which made them a little tight but still not uncomfortable) and walked around the house in them and within minutes it felt as though they were stretching. The leather is awesome. Really good quality, nicely distressed. Someone mentioned the boots being two different colors- all distressed boots I've had have differed from each other. These are different too - the left is a bit lighter, the right is a bit more wrinkled - I love that look, it's very naturally distressed looking, but you should definitely know that going in if it's not your thing. I fell in love with the rust color and it is just as lovely and unique as it looked online: a rich, faded reddish-cognac. And they look better on my feet than they do in the box. Very flattering on the foot! Great heel height, comfortable all day the first time I wore them. The words "western boot" in the name made me hesitate, but they're very subtle and sexy, not really very "western" at all. I think all of you boot lovers will fall in love with them too!

These boots are more than all that! I have worn them twice in less than 24 hours and have received compliments galore. They are comfortable, chic and just amazing! They are worth the money!

I ordered a 7, my usual size, and could barely get them on. They pinched and hurt the ball of my foot. But I liked the style so I ordered an 8. It's a little tough getting the heel on but they fit great once on. The footbed and sole do feel hard and stiff—not as much padding or comfort as my usual Fryes. The little leather loops that hold the ends of the leather straps aren't attached and slide all over. I may try to attach them to the straps somehow since these are not functional buckles anyway.

I've been wanting to order these since November and finally did and I don't regret it. They are COOL, beautiful construction, great quality, sexy but edgy, made in MEXICO not China. I am normally a 9.5 and I ordered a 9. They are a little narrow, but the length is right. The left one fits perfectly and the right one is a little snug. I decided against ordering a 10 as I think they might be too long. I got the black one's on sale on the Zappos sale website.

I love the style on these boots! I will say that they were a bit smaller than other brands. I wear a size 6 and the 7 would be too big. I added arch supports as it feels like the slope of the heel toward to toe starts a bit early and puts extra pressure on the toes. The heel is not that high so it is bearable, but unfortunate. I may take them to a bootmaker to adjust the slope...build it out a bit. They are traffic stopping beautiful though!

So happy with these boots. Purchased them in the grey 9, went up a size from my normal 8 to compensate for my larger calves. I had previously tried on the aspens in store while on vacation, and was saddened to learn I couldn't zip the back up over my legs. After returning home and reading other reviews about how they will stretch with some elbow grease and persistence, I decided to order this pair. After about a week of heating, stretching and remoisturizing the leather, I proud to say they fit perfectly and zip all the way up. Never give up, never surrender. These boots are beautiful, they go with everything and I'm pretty sure I haven't skipped a day of wearing them since I got them. Also, Zappos customer service has been the greatest and easiest I have ever experienced. Never ordering from another online shoe site ever again. Zappos for life.

There was so much I loved about these boots. The style is perfect -- not too dressy, not too casual, and the perfect heel height. They are made of good quality real leather, which I find is almost always superior to imitation leather in terms of aesthetics and wear. The problems? Well, they're rather pricey for my budget. But if not for the critical mass reached due to combination of the following three issues, I think I'd have kept them anyway. That's how cool I found them otherwise. 1. Not great arch support, and due to the style-defining cutouts, my usual solution -- arch-enhanced insoles -- was not advisable. 2. They went a little overboard on the "distressing" part. The pair I received, in taupe, had, in addition to the expected premature aging effects, at least one prominent, roughly circular, 1" diameter splotch that looked like someone had stuck their thumb in axle grease and then molested the boot. 3. The front and should-have-been-center panel of leather angled precipitously to the inner ankle, causing the boots to hug the outside of my ankles and gape widely on the interior sides. Admittedly, I do have rather narrow ankles, which may have exaggerated the offensiveness of this aspect. Sadly, I am reluctantly returning these otherwise gorgeous boots.

I had to get one size bigger than normal because these are so tight across the arch of my foot. There is lots of room in the toe area in the larger size, but I kept them because I just love the style and the red color.

I love these boots. I am a bit of a boot queen...and I was unsure about these after reading the reviews. But they are fantastic! Easily fit over leggings (and I have strong calves), or under boot cut jeans, are flattering, not as chunky around the ankles as some and so comfortable immediately. They have instantly become my absolute go-to favorite boots. I actually like the free-floating strap with the wide part in the front and the buckle on the outside (which means switching them to the other foot), but I'm sure there's some good historically functional reason why they're meant to go the other way (as shown).

I spent many months looking at boots before committing to these. These are gorgeous, and exactly what I wanted. The color is not "gray" as described but more of an aged/weathered/faded brown - true to what is pictured on my laptop screen. Given the reviews of poor/awkward fit, I admit I was wary when I first put them on. Yes, they are stiff out of the box, and the zipper wasn't smooth at first. But I'm so glad I committed to them. After a few hours of walking around, they adapted to my feet and fit perfectly. I wear an 8, and these are true to size. I've worn them to work (I stand all day) and to museums and I find them exceptionally comfortable. They slip on and off easily, the zipper mechanism has smoothed out, and I know they will age beautifully. The craftsmanship and detail justifies the price (which is far, far, more than I usually spend on myself) and I receive compliments each time I wear them.

Great boot! Very high quality. I have a fairly wide foot and this boot was just barely wide enough for me. If you have a very wide foot, it would likely be too narrow. It seems to have stretched a little with wear... I am all about comfort and this boot did not disappoint...not quite as comfortable as some of the Born boots I have, but very good nonetheless.

I had the exact same experience. I could barely get my feet into these, especially past the heel. I finally got them on and considered keeping them to see if I could break them in but in the end I decided these are going back. I am looking for a similar pair with zippers on inside and outside. That is too bad because I love how they look and the heel height.

I just received these today in the mail, and upon opening the box they look as pictured, color looks good no complaints. Then I tried them on and almost couldn't get the heel of my foot in! I really had to push, which I've noticed certain Free Bird boots have that issue, the heel is tight. I'm a size 8, and have had good luck in this size with other Free Bird boots, but these are tight in the heel and in the toe area. After I got my foot in the size what right but these are tight and not roomy as the last pair I tried. They are also a bit tight around the ankle, which may stretch some after wearing. I'm just not sure if I'm going to keep them, I will wear them around the house for a while before I decide. But I love the height of the heel and the color which is why I bought these.

Love these boots. They are so comfortable. I usually wear a 8 1/2 and I bought size nine and they fit perfect. I get lots of compliments on them. The quality is superb.

I did read the reviews and knew they might be narrow, but decided to try them. Very stylish boot, however narrow and stiff like cardboard. I ordered the stone color and it is beautiful. I will try a 1/2 size larger and see if that helps. Breaking in process. Very expensive boot!

These are roomy in the toe area for my usual size 8 boot in this brand, I absolutely love the color of the cognac and the straps are removable so you can have a whole different look zipped or not. That's why I bought these, although I've been breaking them in around my house the folded zipped piece is not working for me, it still rubs against my ankle and even with a sock it bugged me. The heel seems comfortable at first but after a while it starts to bother me, so I just don't see myself wearing these. Will return for a different pair of Free Bird Boots!

I wanted to love these boots so much. I literally stared at them online for weeks before pulling the trigger. They arrived and looked just as cool as expected, but when zipped up around my ankle (and I am not heavy) the leather was tight and somewhat painful to walk in so sadly, they are going back. I am not a wait until they break in kind of gal. They need to feel good right out of the box.
