Fred Perry Twin Tipped Polo Shirt

Fred Perry, consistently undersized. I love Fred Perry, but Fred doesn't love me. I have looked high and low for Fred's merchandise. I was very happy to learn that Zappos carried this brand. Sadly, even though I ordered the largest polo available, it was snug out of the box. I know when laundering it will shrink beyond the point where I could wear it. No hard feelings as I understand that a "European fit" is not the same as an "American fit". This is a "head's up" to those who are not built like a European.

Very comfortable, easy to slip on. I am usually a 7 1/2, medium width feet and ordered a 7 and it fit perfectly with some breathing room. I was looking for a pointy shoe with a flat non-slip rubber bottom that would be casual in comfort and professional as a work shoe. I wish they would have made this shoe in leather though, it wouldn\'t get as dirty and would be more durable than the suede. Otherwise, really good buy.

This is a nice bag. It feels good and doesn't seem like it is made out of cheap materials. I like the feeling of the straps, it has a little padding in it and it seems to mold to your shoulders. It isn't a large bag, which I am happy about since I am a small person. The only thing I don't care for, and hope it never happens to me, is that there is a tag on the bag that says that due to the dying process the black ink might transfer over to light clothing. I'm not sure if that means the strap areas, or the outside of the bag. I hope not the straps, I'd rather not be wearing a white shirt or coat and have black smears on it. I hope if it gets wet that won't happen either, if it does then the bag is terrible, but if it doesn't then I really like the bag and plan on keeping it. I like the small zippered pocket inside and the little slip pockets also. It can hold a lot and still feel good. Zappos, like usual, was fast!

Fred Perry Performance Tennis Shirt

Reviewer:Jeffrey L from Berkeley, CA

Overall Rating: (5 stars)

This shirt fits pretty true to size. It initially feels like it would be warmer than a standard cotton shirt (I have a polo shirt from Fred Perry and it is tighter around the chest than this one is, same size), but the shirt's material makes it very breathable and functional for all sorts of activities. I have gone hiking, got sweaty, and then gone out to dinner on the fly, the shirt was dry the whole time. A great layer to start with when Sea Kayaking and not wearing a wetsuit. So, good for sports and also social activities.

Fred Perry Japan Polo Shirt (Very Slim Fit)

It said that it is a very slim fit shirt, which means this shirt has tight arm holes, I think. Its shoulder is wider than the other Fred Perry slim fit shirts, and the length of chest and waist are about same. Overall, it is a quite nice shirt, and fit well to skinny people.

Nicely made shirt. Way overpriced! I always like the UK made Fred Perry shirts which is exactly what this is. The red/white combo is a nice color, but the Fred Perry laurel is way too big! I almost feel like I am wearing some sort of a uniform. Fred Perry needs to use these colors in making one of their regular shirts.

I love Fred Perry! I bought these shoes to match my F.P. pique shirt dress. They're so cute and they don't rub the back of my heels like some flats I've bought in the past. There's just enough wiggle room for your feet without being too loose or tight, very comfy.

Cuter online, I thought these would be a cute shoe to add some pop to basic black pants, but I wanted the comfort of a flat. While they were cute, I didn't find them too comfortable. I think a little padded insole would have helped tremendously with these. So, I returned them and instead bought a different brand.

nice fit polo shirt for Asian man - As an asian man, the other polo shirts are too baggy for me even though it said they are slim fit polos. but, this shirt is just right for me. it is fit really well, nice look, and its length is perfect not to be tugged in. Only a complaint is that it can not be put in drier.

This shoe is to die for! I am generally a US 6 and this one ran a touch on the big side. I probably could have done a half size smaller. It fits comfortably, just slightly loose. It's super cute and goes with so many of my outfits!

My favorite polo and I've tried Ralph Lauren Polo custom fit, J. Crew vintage fit, Express, and Fred Perry Made in England. The superior fabric and feel is immediately apparent. Order a size up from what you wear in typical American brands. Great fit: the sleeves end about mid-bicep and hug the upper arms. The shirt length is too short to be tucked, which I prefer because I do not tuck in my polos. This shirt shrinks about half a size after being in the dryer. The collar has a good feel, not too stiff, not too flimsy and keeps its shape.

Fred Perry needs to start making half sizes! I am a 10 1/2 and once bought a 1/2 size down. Bad idea! On these I bought a 1/2 size up. They are nice kicks but still feel a little big.

Fred Perry Tarpaulin Dispatch Bag

I got many compliments on the style of this bag, and it is well-made and spacious. However, it's not made for biking. The strap is much too long, even at its shortest adjustment, and the plastic strap hinges dig into your hips while riding. Also, the material picks up fabric dye where you sweat, so my bag was discolored on the back after a couple rides. No big deal looks-wise, although a bicyclist is better off with a bag that has a breathable back panel for comfort. I will be getting a Seal Line or Patagonia bag from Zappos for biking. But this bag is very waterproof and a good alternative to expensive Frietag bags (although those are made from recycled materials, as are Patagonia's bags).

Fred Perry Shoulder Bag

Reviewer:Nick from Morristown, NJ

Overall Rating: (2 stars)

I was honestly very unhappy with the quality of this bag. Threads were hanging everywhere, the zipper was not smooth at all, and the plastic that the bag was made of just felt incredibly cheap. I own another Fred Perry overnight bag that Zappos sells and that one is incredible. Even though the material is plastic it still feels almost like leather. In addition, the bag is a lot lighter than the pictures would have you believe. It's almost like a light grey as opposed to a darker greyish black. A lot of people will buy anything FP just because of the logo, but overall this bag just isn't worth anywhere near its price.

Fred Perry Oversized Argyle Sweater

Awesome Light Weight - Classic Fred Perry Style - A fantastic light weight cotton sweater, great for Spring and Summer...especially on the GOLF COURSE!! Great for business casual with a white tee or layered with a polo! The classic light blue with cool argyle pattern goes great with jeans, kakis and shorts!! It is oversized so depending on your height you may want to drop one size...I'm 5-9 and athletic build and usually wear a large in polos and sweaters but if you want the bottom of the sweater to hang straight (without a fold or flop over) I would go with a Medium. I bought large and it fits great in the shoulders and chest (I'm a 42 suit with 33 length arms) but again depending on your preference you may want to go one size smaller to get the bottom to fall right at the upper middle of the fly of your pants. Great quality sweater that will last forever and never goes out of style!!

Very nice cardigan vest. True to size fitting. Made of soft cotton as opposed to pique cotton, so it sits on the body better. Looks sharp with a dress shirt and slacks. I really like Fred Perry, just wish the prices were a little lower.

Great, but... Left shoe had a noticeable imperfection - lines in plaid curved, squished up noticeably, so I ordered a replacement. The second pair came, same thing. Right shoe was fine. Besides that, it looks great. Fit is about 1/2 size bigger than expected.

I bought this polo shirt from Zappos, the shipping is very fast (free overnight shipping). Since I have 13 polo shirts in 13 brands, including Abercrombie, Lacoste, Burberry, and Original Penguin; I'm certain to say that this Fred Perry Polo is superior in quality than Ralph Lauren, Lacoste, and Burberry. In my opinion, Fred Perry polos, along with Thomas Pink, are best in quality in $50-$95 price range.

Fred Perry Polo Review - Ordering from Zappos was great! Very easy to place and complete my order. Very easy to locate the item I wanted. When I got my Fred Perry in the mail it was exactly what I expected, and I received it in one day...free! As far as the shirt itself goes, it's a Fred Perry. It's not my first one, so I kind of knew what to expect. The only question was what size to get. It has been many years since I have actually had one in my possession, so I couldn't remember how it fit. I am in between Large and X-Large in t-shirts... but more toward large. I ordered a large Fred Perry and it fits exactly how I wanted. It's more of a slim "fitted" fit. I am 6'2" (205 lbs) and the length of the shirt is short. Not too short, but if you wear your pants a little bit lower than your waste (like I do with my Dickies), your Fred Perry will go slightly below belt level. The shirt looks sharp.

About Fred Perry

Fred Perry It was at the end of the 1940s that Fred Perry was approached by Tibby Wegner, a former Austrian footballer, with an idea for marketing a sweatband bearing the Fred Perry name. Fred had previously used gauze wrapped around his wrist to protect the racquet handle from perspiration. The original sweatband was made from bath towel material and “weighed a ton”, according to Fred in his autobiography. The redesigned prototype, made in Leicester, was light, soft and pliable. From that moment they were in business. They marketed the sweatbands by giving them away to the top players at the best tournaments, persuading them to wear them on court; the players did, and Fred Perry Sportswear was launched.

Fred Perry soon developed the business with Wegner by making Fred Perry polo shirts. The Fred Perry logo was skillfully merchandised by offering these polo shirts to BBC cameramen, whilst Fred Perry and Dan Maskell both wore them when commentating. They gave polos to all the leading players; it was the era of Hoad, Rosewell and the young Australians, who were only too keen to get their hands on these new items of clothing, since they looked better than the baggy, ill-fitting alternatives.

It was a clever and successful marketing initiative. People became aware of the Fred Perry logo and associated it with Wimbledon, the world’s premier tennis tournament, and the world’s finest tennis players. The Fred Perry polo shirt hit the jackpot. It was a good product; customers saw it, liked it and bought it. The construction of the cotton piqué shirt, with its open honeycomb stitch and great fit, made it perfect as performance wear for tennis and soon became the shirt of choice for several subcultures throughout the world.

Being very popular among youth again, Fred Perry once was the shirt of choice for several distinctive groups of teenagers throughout the 60s and 70s. Skinheads and Manchester’s own ‘Perry Boys,’ a group of violent football supporters, were among the subcultures that made Fred Perry shirts popular. Although those days are long gone, the Fred Perry laurel logo (usually found on the left chest of the polo shirts) has remained an important staple in the style of today’s generation. Especially popular in the indie subculture, the signature fit of the Fred Perry shirt has proven to bridge the gaps of diverse demographics.
