I have had a hard time finding boots that fit my wide calves, and was pleasantly pleased when I received the ECCO Hobart. The boot shaft actually expands based on your calf size with a piece of leather tucked beneath the buckles. A previous reviewer mentioned that this made the boot look cheap. I don't think so, and in fact it does not compromise the style of the boot at all.

Very elegant looking boot, but I decided it was a little more dressy than I wanted, but it did zip nicely up my 15" circumference calves, but not a lot of extra room. A nice city boot that has style for sure! Unfortunately, I live in the sticks and need a little more casual for everyday.

I will preface this by saying that I have about a 17" calf at the widest. I have found several boots on Zappos that will zip but most of them either are cheap-looking (eg lots of elastic panels), not particularly stylish, or when I do get them zipped up my leg just looks like I stuffed it in the boot - not attractive. I think these boots might just be the ones. When zipped on me the center panel is completely expanded, but this actually gives my calf a bit of breathing room that does not make it look like I was poured into them. I can buckle the top buckle with some tugging, but I will probably just add another hole. I also think that the buckles actually distract from the panel and give the boot a little more dimension that balances out my heavier leg. The quality of the leather is nice and they seem comfortable around the house so far. If you are on the fence, definitely give these a try. I wear a 9½ - 10 and usually a 10 in boots. I ordered these in a 41 and I think the size is right.

This is an addendum to my review below. After wearing these around a while I realized the 41 was way too long. I ordered the 40 and they fit my 9½-10 sized feet perfectly. Didn't want to mislead anyone!

This boot is great! It's comfortable and there's plenty of room in the toe box. I like that it has a full zipper so it's easy to get in and out of them and I've got plenty of room in the calf to wear them over jeans. I've worn other shoes by ECCO before and have never been disappointed.

The boots are beautiful; however, I think that they're a better fit for people with fuller calves and wider feet. I certainly don't have "model's legs" (my calves are 13.5 inches), but these looked very wide on me, both at the top of the book and around the top of the foot. I should probably order a smaller size, but I fear the general problems will remain. So, I think its a great boot if you have the right legs for it -- just not mine.

My calves are on the thinner side (13) and with jeans tucked in they are perfect. They have buckles with three holes on the side and I could probably have another hole made if needed if I wanted to wear with dresses. My foot fits perfectly in the boot. My heel doesn't flop around like some boots I tried on. The leather is beautiful! They are very cute and I am very happy with them.

I am really pleased with these boots. The leather looks expensive and the design is classic and elegant. I have very large calves and they fit! I normally wear a 7.5 and I had to return my first order and get size 37, which is supposed to be a 6-6.5. But returns are always easy with Zappos!

I really love these boots - they retain their structure and are versatile in terms of the size of the calf. I had ordered a pair of David Tate boots but the calf was huge. I ordered a beautiful pair of Frye boots but I could not get them fully up my calves. The Ecco boots allowed me to open the top buckle on notch while keeping the others at the tightest - great for tucking in cords. They are on the dressier side so I wear them primarily to work. They were immediately comfortable and very stylish. If I could improve them, I would like the leather to be less shiny, but as noted it does lend itself to a dressier look. I wear a 10M which I bought and the sizing was true.

Love, love, love these boots. Stylish, comfortable, high quality, true to size, just wide enough to ear pants tucked in but not to wide that you can't wear with a skirt. Very versatile.

I love these boots. After I received them I thought they were too narrow so I was going to send them back. I don't have wide feet but I like lots of room for my toes. But after shopping for boots I ran out of time and no one had my size in anything so I tried them on again and finally decided to keep them. I'm so glad I did. The leather is very soft, the style is classic and goes with skirts or jeans. I wore them today and they relaxed just enough to give my toes plenty of room to wiggle. Great find. I gave it 4 stars for comfort because there's not much arch support; however, I solved the problem by slipping in my orthotics.

Absolutely freaking love these. When I first put them on, I thought, "Oh. The foot bed is really hard. Will these be comfortable?" 'cause I was thinking of Clarks which are always cushy and comfy. But these turned out to be fine - very comfortable - and the zipper could close on my relatively normal sized calf. I've gone through 2 other styles trying to find something to close over my calf and these work. The buckles extend things just that extra bit more and it looks good to boot. Oh! Looky, looky! I made a pun.

I have wide calves and these boots were a lifesaver. The buckles and elastic are quite forgiving, and I think they have a slimming effect on my calves. I bought these in brown, and am probably going to pick up a pair in black, as well. They are very comfy for all day and look great with a skirt or tucked into skinny jeans.
