The heel is not flat but not to high either and I wear them all day at work and they feel great. I wear them with black tights under my skirts and dresses. I get compliments on them every time I wear them. As for the size, I usually wear a 9 and sometimes an 8 1/2. This boot is a little large with tights so I use shoes liners or wear socks. If you are going to wear socks, order your usual size. If you are going to wear hose or tights, order one half size smaller. You will love them!

Look: These boots are great. They have that "broken-in" feel to them from the moment they came out of the box. They are as comfortable as any boots I have owned and would recommend them to anyone. Zappos has got to be the best out there. I placed the order on a Sunday night and had the boots by lunch Tuesday. After I purchased them they went on sale, and I contacted Customer Support and they promptly sent me a reply saying they had credited my account to reflect the sale price. Zappos, you have a customer for life in me!

Comfortable and Cute, Cute, Cute - I love these slipper boots so much that I bought a second pair for when the first wear-out or get icky. They are very comfortable and soo cute! The bottoms are very flexible - sort of a cross between an outdoor rubber sole, and a fabric sole, so I don't think they offer a whole lot of protection from any moisture. I wear a perfect 8.5 M and the size large (9-10) fit perfectly, so I would say these run a little small.

How does Zappos do that? They are super comfortable, look great, and appear to be well made. It took me a little while to get used to the slippery-ness of the smooth leather sole, but that should fix itself as they get worn in and the sole gets scuffed up. I added a gel insole and that took care of the half-size-larger-than-marked issue. Compared to the cowboy boots I was looking at in stores in Austin, Texas on vacation, these are an excellent value!
