I purchased Clarks Desert Boot in Taupe Distressed, and couldn\'t be more pleased with my decision. I was needing something more substantial than a moccasin and which could be worn with a variety of different outfits, mainly casual. The boots fit true to size, and are more comfortable than anticipated. They look great with thick wool socks. FYI if you order the distressed, they will some with a slightly dirtied sole. No matter, since it makes them look slightly broken in! Highly recommended.

Really nice boots. A bit tight at first, but wear them for a short breaking in period and they stretch nicely. Look great with boyfriend jeans.

Just wanted to say, that I love these boots. Brings me back to my school days. They feel just as good on my feet today, as they did then. I ordered these boots last night, and they were on my porch the next day. Wow! What service. Already have them on and enjoying them! These little boots are soft, but they will get even more softer the more you wear them. Thinking about ordering me another pair. Thank you Zappos for such great service.

I had misgivings about keeping these, because when I tried them on, I wore heavy woolen socks and they were a bit tight across the instep (I also have bunions). However, after a couple of wearings, they have become quite comfortable and hold up to serious day-long walks. You may need an orthotic for arch support, but otherwise, you will love them.

Buy them a 1/2 size smaller than normal. I went into a store before buying these and the guy there told me to order them a half size smaller - I did and he was right! I thought they'd feel a bit softer, but I imagine they'll soften up soon enough. Kind of expensive though for such a basic shoe.

I admit I ordered these shoes from a place of nostalgia. I wore these as a kid and they were my all time fave shoes. I wish they still came in the original sandy color. The distressed is cool, but a little darker than I would have liked. I have a narrow foot, so I find that I need to wear socks with these so that they are not too floppy on my foot. Comfy, but do not expect support.

These boots are awesome. The fit great and true to size right out of the box. The soft leather already feels a little broken in. There is no rubbing spots and the soles are comfy too. I bought these to ride my motorcycle in and they work great, and they look good, too!

This boot is not suitable for people with a high instep. I was unable to fit my feet into these shoes with even the thinnest pair of socks on. I only barely made it in barefoot but since this is a shoe style that definitely needs socks, I had to return. My ratings refer to how the shoe fit after I got the foot into it (without sock).

These boots were so unbelievably uncomfortable. They fit like the box they came in. No cushion or arch support.

I have a very high arch and a wide foot. This shoe did not accommodate either. I\'m a 5 1\/2 and the size 6 felt really cramped. The leather was stiff as well so not as comfortable as I had hoped.

Quality of products has gone down. Back in the 1970s, I used to wear Clarks Trek shoes, and loved them for their comfort. There was no break-in time needed (with full grain leather models). Just bought a pair of the beeswax leather boots here and am very disappointed. Yes, they look nice, but wearing them - well, that's where the problems start. The leather is extremely stiff and actually has a sharp edge around the part of the boot that touches the lower calf. I've tried fine-grit sandpaper on that area + some very gentle leather conditioner to soften them + gently stretching the shoes - and none of this has worked. I really wish I had returned these shoes to Zappos. Not sure why the quality of Clarks Originals has fallen so drastically, but...
