Run through the jungle with these shoes. I live in Hawaii and these are my go-to shoes! Yes, sometimes the toe strap gets tight but just loosen them. My original pair were the 9s and they were a bit large. I am a true 8½ but got the 8 and they are really perfect.

These are just the cutest shoes. Unfortunately, I couldn't get my high instep and slightly wide foot underneath the strap. The strap barely stretches. I had to return these with much regret. (These shoes are lightweight and very well made.)

These are ridiculously comfortable right out of the box. I have sz 8.5 feet and past neuromas, so the wide toe area is perfect. The colors are great (I got gunmetal and bungee); I wear socks, so the bungee greens can be hard to 'match.' My shortcoming is patience; you do need to loosen and tighten the (non-elastic) straps when wearing them, so they're not fast slip-ins. Good grip on the soles; I'd trust these on easy hikes.

These sandals are super comfortable! Love them. I have bunions and high arches and these are great because the strap is above the bunion, so there is no chafing and the arch support is superb. I only had to adjust it once and to get in and out of them are a snap. Take a look at the videos on the Chaco website or on YouTube to learn how to adjust the straps. I usually wear a 71/2, but when there are only whole sizes I usually go with an 8. I wear a 38 in Birkenstock. But in these sandals the 8 was too big — too much room at the front and the strap at the heel was loose no matter how much I tried to tighten them. Those who say that the straps at the heel are too loose might have gotten a size too big for them. Oh, and while they are not super cute, they are not ugly, either. These sandals, with the Unaweep sole made of vibram, are made for people who want to venture and need good traction on slippery conditions. They will dry quickly, too.

Second pair of Chacos. The previous ones lasted almost 10 years. Love these shoes!

I so wanted to like these. but they were wrong in several ways. I ordered the 10 and the 11. Both shoes found my foot sliding back off the heel....even with the straps super tight. And there was a lot of extra length at the toe end. Also, the shoe was cut out in such a shape (the left worse than the right) that it was going in a different direction than my foot. it was curved way in, while my foot was pretty straight. strange. I do have foot issues, but my feet do not point in the wrong direction. Just tried chaco shoe, which I love (gallant), so wanted a sandal. can't do the straps across the big toe joint (arthritis), so I love a thong. and this is the only thong they make. So, no chaco sandals for me, I guess.

I love the look of this boot and really hated to send both pairs back. Size 7 in Chaco sandals fit me perfect. The closed toe and the need to wear warm socks made the 7 too tight. I have some Chaco shoes in 7.5 that fit great with socks. The boot in 7.5 was too big around the ankle area and slipped up and down too much. My daughter liked the look of mine so much that she ordered a pair in her size and LOVES them for their look and arch support.

These shoes are the bomb. For the first week, you have to break into them so just saying they will be painful then. After, the shoe molds more with your foot and it feels just right. If you are not comfortable with the toe strap, do not get these. Some people I know have an issue with the toe strap but I do not personally. I wore my black pair all through the Summer in Colorado and they survived miraculously. Note also - if you plan to wear these with socks in the winter you might want to get sandals with no toe straps so you do not have to cram your toe in the strap. I have always loved Chacos, always will. Before you return them, wait a week or two of wearing them and then decide.

These are my favorite flip flops. This is the 2nd pair I've purchased. The first pair lasted more than 2 years. They have great support and traction.

I use these sandals on backpacking trips while crossing streams and rivers. Great support while carrying a heavy pack. The fully adjustable strap makes it easy to wear with and without thick socks. Best sandal I've ever owned.

These don't have the support or feel of the sandals or even of their shoes from several years ago. The insole is comfy but the arch support is only mild to moderate. These shoes don't do much to help with overpronation, so plan on adding after-market insoles/orthotics if that is a concern. They accommodate orthotics very well (I've tried them with Orthaheel/Vionic and Sole brand insoles and they fit well. The Sole insoles combined with this shoe is very nice for controlling overpronation. They are not a cushy shoe--most of the cush comes from the included insole. They do feel super stable and the tread is good. The gunmetal grey color is a bit darker than pictured (which I see as a plus), and the elastic goring is strong enough that it doesn't feel like it's stretching with every step. These are easy to kick off, and I can get them on with a bit of an ankle wiggle without using my hands, which is nice for a shoe that isn't a slide. They are fairly utilitarian and generic looking, but they make my size 11 feet look a *lot* smaller, which I wasn't expecting. They have plenty of toe room. I'm undecided as to whether I'll keep them or not. The heel of the left one slips a bit (my left foot is about a quarter size smaller than my right), and I can't tell if that's something that will go away or get worse when they break in.

Bought on blind faith in Chacos, since their sandal is my favorite shoe, and I wasn't disappointed. I'm a 9 D-E, and the size 9 D fits well with Smartwool light cushion hiking socks. Initially wore them on a few mile long dog walks in my hilly neighborhood, no problems. Just returned from hiking up and down Smokey Mtns Mt Le Conte, again no problems at all. Zappos shipped fast; received on third workday.

So I just returned from a three week trip to Peru (Machu Picchu) and Ecuador (Galapagos Islands). Bought 6 months ago to break in. And these were my favorite shoes of the trip. Most day hiking was 5-12 miles. Mountain Biking Less than 30 miles. No blisters at all. (Although I do use Fox River sock liners and Throlos hiking socks too). Unlike my Keen Targhee hiking boots, these are much lighter! Zero leg fatigue at the end of the day. And they are also much easier to spray mud or brush trail dust off of when it comes to cleaning. But they do not offer the continued ankle support traditional hiking boots do offer. Nor are the water proof, clearly... they are open shoes. They handled the thousands of steps in Peru just fine even with slicked, rained on, surfaces stones - ie, great tread. Hiking sharp lava rocks of Sierra Negro was do-able, but you could definitely feel the rocks. Unlike 2 pairs of Merrells in my hiking group though, my shoes did not split and my toe guards survived. What surprised me the most about these shoes was three things: A) When it did rain or you walk in gravel, if you have them cinched well, with proper hiking sockwear, very little water or pebbles - even in seasonal down pour or miles of gravel - made it's way into the inner part of the shoe. You can literally cinch yourself to a perfect seam that keeps, I would say 90% of the debris out. Pretty nifty! You have to try it to believe it. B) These shoes dry fast! Even faster that my Keen Owyhee's. One afternoon I was mountain biking to a pier with these, then went snorkeling off a dive boat. My Owyhee's were in my dive bag. After 15 people were getting in and out of the boat - everything was soaked. Both Chacos and Keens. I blew dry them each with a hair dryer for 5 minutes, and stuffed them with hotel hand towels (since I had no newspaper on hand). And surprise surprise...the Chaco's were 100% dry the next morning, not the Keens! C) The higher arches in this shoe really do make it an all day support shoe. Some say the shoe feels narrow because of the highness of the arch...holding it up next to other amphibious shoes you will physically see the arch. To me, that is what makes the cinching technology work so well, and provides the endurance level of comfort. Some Cons: I don't like the way the shoe felt without socks. But with amphibious shoes like this, you have to wear socks to avoid sun burned feet or weird tan lines. Although a good land/beach multipurpose shoe, I do still prefer my Keen Owyhee's for kayaking, rafting, and water sports. If you do need to cut weight though for trekking or plane limits - this shoe can do it all, and do it better than anything else on the market. Post Christmas I will probably buy a second pair just to have in reserve for 5-10 years down the line. Being a new purchase, long term durability is unknown.

Wear a 7.5...bought the 8. Good fit. Could use a back loop to assist in pulling on. Unlike the other reviewers, these seemed a bit tight at first. Haven't stretched out very much at all. Can certainly feel the arch, so make sure you get the right fit. I have to wear a less substantial sock or the shoe fits too tightly. I have a wider, high arch foot. The interesting thing is that the longer I wear them, the better they feel. Wouldn't consider them hiking boots at all...maybe city hiking! I love the laces on the Bison color. The Bison is much darker than the photo. These have grown on me, and are just different enough with the leather heel patchwork to be nice and distinctive. More cute than working boot.

These boots are amazing! The arch support is excellent for long walks, and the footbed gives me all of the classic Chaco comfort that I love. They are super cute to wear around town. I've already gotten several compliments! The boot are easy to take on and off, and the laces add a lot of fit customization options. I've been told that where the arch hits is the most important part of fitting a Chaco. So while this boot might have a bit of extra length, the arch hits me just right. The extra room just gives me more space for socks! Couldn't recommend these boots enough.

I ordered my normal size, 8.5 as I look room for thick socks and they fit perfect. The leather is very soft and the footbed is flexible. Not flimsy but not clunky. The arch support is excellent however it does seem to be a little far forward, toward the shoe box but I do not think it will be a problem. The orthotic is removable so you can replace if you prefer.

I am thrilled with these Chacos...I normally wear a womens 11 but because of feet problems, am buying men's shoes for the wider toe-box. I can stand on the concrete floor in my studio for hours and not feel fatigued or achy! Wonderful, have recommended these to everyone!

I was looking for a sandal that was more open-my feet get too hot in my Keens. Chaco's are definitely cooler on my feet but still give great foot protection. Chaco's have an aggressive arch support so it took a little bit of time to adjust. Overall, I am really happy with these sandals. I wore them on a trip to Maui and they held up great with all the water activities and light hiking I did. I like that the straps are adjustable and love the color. I usually wear an 8-1/2 but ordered size 8 and it fit perfectly.

The footbed of this Chaco flip (we ordered wide) fit well, but the straps were way too short to accommodate my friend's foot. We've ordered one of the Chaco sandal styles in wide that has adjustable straps. We'll see how that works!

Best shoe ever. Comfortable, supportive, made with quality materials that last--and the double strap makes it just slightly more dressy than the single strap. They work if your feet are wide as well!

I LOVE my Chaco sandals (Z1 Yampa) for the support they provide and alleviation of my plantar fasciitis. I thought I would be getting the same footbed with these shoes. They are marketed as having the same "Luvseat" footbed but in fact they do not at least as far as I can tell comparing the two. Which goes to show how much marketing (e.g. smoke and mirrors) goes into peddling these Chaco shoes. They are not bad shoes but if you love your Chaco sandals don't be fooled into thinking these offer the same support they do not. What is missing is the same arch support and heel cup as the sandals.
