I love my Chaco sandals. Been wearing them for years in total comfort. I'm a size 10 "narrow-ish." I've now tried the Gallant and Petaluma, and both run too wide for me. I'm also concerned that the famous Chaco fit is derived from an in-sole: and we all know those wear out. Guess I'll give up on Chaco shoes and stick to their famous adjustable sandals.

I buy Chaco (or did buy Chaco) for the arch. I've returned more than I've kept since Chaco sold to Wolverine. No perceptible arch in these shoes. They're a great idea and bridge the sneaker/sandal gap nicely but if you want support from a good arch, move on.

The sandal fit well and the straps adjusted plenty so that you could get the right fit. I wore these hiking in and out of a shallow river for 10 hours over 2 days and they cut into the top of my foot near my big toe. I don't think I was wearing them too tight. I believe they cut my feet since there isn't any padding between the straps and your foot. Everyone I talked to that owns a pair loves them so I'm bummed they didn't work out for me. Quality sandal, just not for me.

I love this Chaco Unaweep sandal, from the very first time worn. Comfortable, fits perfect, like the way it looks. I had the sandals on for 12 hours the first day and my feet never complained. Usually I cannot stand to wear any shoes for very long and like going barefoot best.

So, I have to update one thing about my earlier review regarding the strap size. After wearing them around the house a little, I decided the straps that are one size down from the footbed size would not work after all. I ended up returning those and ordering size 8 straps for my size 8 shoe. The size 8 is too loose. The size 7 straps were just the right tightness; however, the piece of thong fabric that goes between the toes was significantly shorter on the 7 than on the 8, and on the 7 it was so short it that made the stiff thick part of seam (where the V-shape of the two straps meet) rub on the top of my toes in a way that was really irritating to the point of painful if I walked in the shoes for more than a few minutes. But now that I have got too-loose flips that are not great for walking long distances either. What I might do is alter the size 8 straps myself and make them shorter, since they are fabric and are just sewn onto the plastic anchors. Though I do not sew much and not sure how good that will turn out. Or maybe I'll take them to a shoe repair place. At any rate, it is a bit of hassle and a lot to have to do for a pair of flip-flops that was already pretty expensive. But the footbed is so comfortable for me, I haven't found anything else that beats it (other than different styles of Chacos) so I will deal.

It is rare to find shoes, boots and sandals that work for my feet; but Chacos work! I have a narrow heel and want a wide toe box with a substantial arch support for all day comfort. That is a Chaco! I first had the sandals and my feet loved them in and out of water and while kayaking and walking. Actually, getting used to shoes was awful when late fall came so I pushed the sandal season as long as I could. Then began the sandal season as quickly as I could in the early spring, to get out of my shoes. When I needed a new pair of hiking boots I tried the Azula Mid Waterproof boot and was so glad I did. It is excellent for me and there was no break-in period and no issues with my toes, my knees or my hips because everything was kept in alignment. I did buy a half size larger and that worked well. Thank you Chaco! You products last, they are incredibly comfortable and extremely durable.

I can't for the life of me get these to fit right! I've followed their directions, and watched a few Youtube vids. I'll get them feeling good, then put them on the next day and it's like I have to start over! The toe loop is either too tight or too loose and literally cutting in between my toes. They are probably comfy...right?

These sandals are definitely very sturdy and I can tell they will last a long time. I usually wear a 6.5 so I ordered a 6 and they were a little long, but if I had ordered the 5 the non-adjustable strap would have been too tight for my wide feet. The toe strap is elasticized so nearly every part of the sandal is adjustable except for the one strap that crosses the top of the foot. My only other complaint is that I've had these for only about a month, and the color on the leather straps is rubbing off and disappearing completely so they are a much lighter color and matte texture now (which takes away from the cool contrast with the stitching).

I have the original version of this sandal & I love it. However the straps that allow you to adjust the sandal are elastic on this version & no matter how often I readjust them the sandal slips off my feet while walking. I am so disappointed. I regret not returning them because I never wear them.

Finally! I've been trying on lots of different flats looking for ones that I could walk around Europe and New York. I usually go Born, but I saw these, with excellent reviews (though only a few) and with a high arch support, so decided to try them out. Never heard of brand before. Unbelievably soft and comfortable and how great to have arch support! I get embarrassed returning things to Zappos, but I needed to find the perfect shoe! Now...if they would only make a few lighter colors...nude, silver...then I'd buy more.

I really wanted to like these. The sole is fantastic. But the upper is terrible. I walked around the house for an hour in them and the sandpaper that they use between your toes was already hurting. They use a braided nylon which is incredibly abrasive. I can't imagine walking in them for more than a few minutes. If they used a softer material these would be all day 5 stars.

Love these shoes. Strap is a little loose. Will take them to shoemaker to have tightened. I have had the Chaco flip flop for a few years now. Extremely comfortable.

Should preface this review by saying: As someone who needs good arch support and also has narrow feet, I've been a pretty loyal Chaco fan for nearly 20 years and have owned many styles of their sandals. There are some Chaco styles that do work for me and some that don't, but overall I know I can count on the arch and footbed shape to be good for me. I also live in a place where you can wear sandals at least 2/3 of the year and I prefer flip-flops for everyday wear, but two summers ago I broke my foot and ever since I've struggled with flip-flops that are not supportive enough or that have straps so loose they fall off my feet and I end up with foot/ankle strain from flexing just to keep them on my feet. This year I decided to suck it up and pay the cost to try out all the brands of podiatrist-endorsed flips. I've tried 4 brands and about 7 or 8 styles; 3 styles won out and 2 ended up being Chaco (the other was Olu Kai). One winner is this style b/c of the interchangeable straps. They allowed me to customize the fit with tighter straps (just like their other sandals where you can thread and tighten the straps down). Some reviewers recommended going down 2 sizes in the straps, but I tried going 1 down and 2 down and the 2 down was way too tight and pushed my foot too far back toward the heel of the footbed, thus making the arch placement a little off and my heel sit right on the edge at the back of the shoe. One size down was perfect for me, and again I have really narrow feet. I own enough Chacos to be able to compare the footbeds side-by-side (including a pair of originals, 2 Ecotreads and a Z/Volv. The Reversiflip footbed is similar in feel and also in weight to the current Ecotread sandals (mine aren't flips so can't compare how the straps are) and I have a pair of Z/Volv flips (which I also love) and the Reversiflip is a little heavier, but the Reversiflips are also quieter when you walk. The Z/Volv flips make a kind of squishy sound. (I wear flips around the house a lot, so that noise bugs me a bit). Here are the negatives of the Reversiflip: 1) The big one is the crappy original black strap that comes with the shoe! What on earth is that thing? It's a surprisingly thin and flimsy material that cut into my foot somehow, even though the strap was too loose. I'd love it if Chaco provided some strap options that aren't webbing and look a little nicer, but I expected higher quality than this. 2) The changing of the straps is a little challenging at first. There's a lot of twisting and pulling. I ended up grabbing some pliers to get a better grip on the plastic anchors that you have to push/pull through and that made it easier. Hopefully this gets easier over time. Overall this shoe is a great buy and as someone who gets a lot of wear out of my Chacos I love that I won't have to send them in for a strap change. :) I hope they would make more styles of shoes with this option in the future! Chaco is one of very few companies that offer good shoe options for narrow feet and I love them for it! I am an 8 in length, but more like a 6 in width so I cannot wear many brands of shoes, and inexpensive shoes are almost never an option.

I received the Chaco Gallant athletic shoes the other day and I just love them! The size, width, arch and comfort are perfect for me. I've had foot problems (toe surgery and plantar fasciitis)so have had trouble with getting the right fit and comfort. I especially wanted the Gallant for hiking medium distances (4-6 miles). Thanks for a job well done!

I love these new, softer, noticeably-lighter Chacos! They do run small though. I usually take a 9 Wide in women's sizes (9 1/2 when available) and I needed a 10 in these, which fit like a 9 or 9 1/2. All my other Chaco "Z-strap" style sandals are wide, but I was able to fit into these even though they are a "regular" width. The heel strap is shorter than in the other, original, Z-strap style sandals (Yampa, Unaweep) but, for me, that worked out great because normally the heel strap is too loose and I end up having to cinch it up by sewing a pinch of the fabric to take up the extra slack. In these, I don't have to and couldn't even if I wanted to because of the rubber logo patch that is there, in the way. Highly recommend!

I love everything about these shoes. They are my first pair of Chacos, and I have a feeling that they'll last for a very long time. I bought these sandles to wear this summer as I usually wear flip flops that kill my feet. I have a bad habit of wearing not only flip flops, but flat shoes in general. I tend to wake up in the morning with feet that ache when I begin walking around. I wanted something cute, that fit my personality, and durable to last a long time, and these shoes have fulfilled my needs thus far. When I wear these shoes, I don't wake up the following day with the same aching feet. I know that they are making a big difference. I get many compliments on them and seriously cannot live without them. I'd recommend Chacos to all, even people like me that aren't as outdoorsy as the majority of people who wear Chacos. They are absolutely multi-purpose.

These shoes might look comfortable, but they are not. the foot bed is hard, and the straps left cut marks on the top of my feet as if they were too small. Stick to Keen, a shoe you can wear all day.

I've been wearing a pair of Chaco's flips for years so thought I'd try one of their closed-toe shoes. Didn't work for me at all. The second I put them on, I realized the arch support was not in the right place for my foot, the heel was way too wide even after adjusting the strap, and there was something off about the toe box, like a ridge on the side, under my bunion. Very disappointed because they are sooooo cute.

These are pretty cute for comfort shoes. The arch support is good, they fit true to size. The only drawback is weight. I find them to be a little heavy and clunky.

Between my boyfriend and I we have 4 pairs of Chacos (work Chacos and dress Chacos, we're from the Pacific Northwest) and we love them. But it's the customer service that keeps us coming back to Zappos. A knowledgeable and helpful staff every time, what more could I ask for? Oh yeah, free shipping, Bingo!

So really only one gripe about these boots and that's their waterproofing. I know they're not Gore-Tex, but I still had expectations that they would hold their own at my workplace. But so far they haven't lived up to what I expected. I love Chacos but working on a golf course these boots didn't keep my feet dry in the dew. Soaked socks every day so far. So, yes, they are comfortable and look nice but at least from my experience they do not keep my feet dry.
