Caterpillar Reviews
I got these for working in the lab with heavy machinery and motors and these are very cool shoes. They are a little spacious around the top of the foot and order a 10.5, I think I could have done with the 10 or even a 9.5 since the steel toe has to be a certain size and shape, leaving a good amount of toe room.
Great pair of shoes! I have had a pair of the soft toe ones for years, love them, super comfortable. These shoes fit just the same right out of the box!
I read a ton of reviews before buying this boot. The reviews said that this boot requires hardly no break in time. This is a completely false statement. Within 30 minutes of arriving to work I was searching ways to break this boot in, and break it ion FAST!!! I work in an office at a factory, and occasionally walk around the assembly areas ( once an hour for maybe 15 minutes)and my feet are killing me, I have blisters on my toes, and the back of my foot. It's too narrow, the leg opening is very small. I assume it's made out of stiff leather. Although this boot is a nice looking boot, if you're looking for comfort, this one is definitely not the one for you!!
Bought these for my husband, he needed a new boot for work. Durable, waterproof, lightweight, and comfortable. He is very happy with them!
I have flat feet...all my life I've suffered from that condition and as I got older and heavier it worsened. Had doctor made inserts made (expensive but worth it) and when I bought these work boots I got them 2 sizes bigger and extra wide. I use the prescription insert sandwiched in between two gel inserts. Got a nice fit and turns out the shoe is super comfortable from day one. I'm on my feet 8hrs a day in my security job and they don't call these the walking shoes for nothing. Best shoes/boots I've bought in a long time. Not bad for a steel toe footwear.
A nice looking boot. The sizing was very weird for me. I normally fit in a size 11 1/2 just fine. Had to go all the way down to a size 10 for these boots to fit properly. My feet fit a tad tight in 10, but the 10 1/2 was still a bit too big.
Crap boots wont ever give them a dime ..returned first one since the 10.5 was to loose and got 10 sizer was too small feet got bad blisters. i tried to break them in a little more since they where killing me also tried thicker socks with in 6 months they really were just broke and never fit only thing they are worth is the steel in the toe.

My advice is move on, don't even think about these. 2 complaints - the composite toe is of normal width & bothers my feet. I got blisters after 1 day & they already came apart on the outside.
Boots fit nicely. Came true to size. Boot is also very sturdy. I needed a boot that I could beat up and this seems like it will do the job. I like the loop laces at the top for easy in and out. Unfortunately, the boots came already scuffed up and worn. I guess someone wore them around a bit and returned them. When I got them it was obvious someone else wore them. I kept them because I knew I'd put them through worse. I wrote it off as a freak incident though. I ordered a larger size previously and they were perfectly clean. I'd recommend the boot. It's comfortable and worth the buy.
First I must say, if your going to buy shoes, the best way is at Zappos. I haven't found a downside yet. About this shoe in particular. The shoe looks exactly as the picture indicates, I normally wear 12, but in this case the 11.5 fit well. The canvas upper does crease and fold quite a bit, but that is to be expected. I have already gotten many compliments. Great shoe!
My husband typically bought Van's steel-toed work shoe, or Converse. They typically need to have the sole glued back on by the end of a work season (landscaping). We thought we would try something new, and this seems to be much more sturdy. I waterproofed them, and bought rubber over shoes. Working well! He says the inside bottom is a little hard on the foot, but a cheap insole can fix that.
I bought these because I wanted a pair of steel-toes that looked cool enough to be street shoes...because I care about looking cool while I'm in the labs. They are quite comfortable for me, though I should note that they are slightly narrower than steel-toe-boots usually are. From the top they almost remind me of Converse high-tops. After 3 days of wearing basically nothing but these, I didn't notice any discomfort, but when I switched back over to normal sneakers, my feet were like, ohhhhhh yeah.
After 9 months of use, about 25-35 hours a week. I'm buying another pair. These shoes wrap around my feet nicely, and support me very well. They're not 100% slip free, but they do grip the floor decently enough in wet/greasy conditions. At least I haven't taken a fall yet in them (knock on wood). I did have to get a half size smaller.

I really like these shoes. I am a photographer and bought them so that I could wear them with shorts or pants. They are chunky enough to handle whatever I have to walk through for an assignment. They are comfortable, although they probably don't have quite as much arch support as I would have liked. They are also probably not as dressy as I always need but I doubt most people world buy them for that.
The steel toed version of these shoes was uncomfortable, the soft toe version is top notch. After six weeks of heavy use these shoes still look new, which is shocking. Other brands that I have tried come apart at the sole after a short time, not these.
The main thing that attracted me to these steel toes was the fact that they were the least boot looking boot I could find. I'm required to have my ankle covered so when it comes to finding a pair of boots that look like shoes but are also high tops, the options are limited. So if you are in the same boat, get the wide with. I didn't and wish I did. It was a bit of a rough break in. The first and second eyelits ground into my foot every time I took a step. That went away. But, now the sole is starting to tear away from the leather where it bends when you step. I don't think they will hold up very long and they really are not very comfortable.

Bought these for landscape construction work. At first I liked them, but after awhile their heavy, bulkiness wore me out. They don't fit my feet right either, and my feet get sore after a couple hours of wearing them. No real arch support. I bought inserts to help, but after a year of avoiding these and wearing my hiking boots instead, I'm back here on zappos looking for a better pair of work boots.
I spend 14+ hours at work on my feet and was Sorely disappointed with this shoe. Blisters on my feet and not enough padding in the heal.
