Carolina® Shoe Company was founded in 1963 as a new division of H. H. Brown. A manufacturing facility was set up in Morganton, NC, where manufacturing operations existed until 2000, when it was divided up among factories in the U.S. and overseas. From the company’s inception, Carolina’s focus has been to design and engineer functional work and safety footwear for men and women, paying close attention to detail and performance.

Interestingly enough, representatives from Carolina® were original committee members that helped create and develop the ANSI standards that many safety toe and work shoe companies use to this day. Carolina continues to incorporate patented constructions such as Ultra Welt™, Pillow Cushion™, DRYZ®, and Gel Cell™ to name a few. Carolina® - Built for Work™.
