Zappos is the greatest! For the past year I have been trying to get my boyfriend to take dance lessons with me. He has been very reluctant. However, at one lesson he noticed that a male dancer had a nice pair of dance shoes and he commented on how stylish they looked. Well, I had a brainstorm. I went to Zappos.com and looked at several styles of men's dance shoes and read the helpful reviews from previous shoppers. I settled on this pair. They arrived right on time the next day and you should have seen his face when he opened the box. He was so happy and surprised and put them on immediately. He did turns around the kitchen. Thank you so much, Zappos, for bringing more harmony into our relationship. The shoes were a perfect fit and very comfortable. I got a half size larger than his street size. We have been dancing ever since. I wish I had done this a year ago! I highly recommend these shoes and Zappos for any woman who wants to get her man out on the dance floor.

The most amazing thing was that I ordered these shoes about 11:30 pm and they were on my doorstep by noon the next day. I don't know how they did that, but it was amazing. The shoes fit perfectly; absolutely no complaints and I'm impressed both with the quality and the service. The best customer service I've ever seen. They are the Disneyland of the shoe world!

Excellent service is the key to this companies success. I was impressed by the service as my first pair of shoes where too small. They sent another pair out immediately and allowed me two weeks to send the other pair back. I received the larger pair the next day.

I love these shoes! My wife and I just started taking ballroom dance lessons and I bought these shoes to dance in. These shoes are quite comfortable and allow me to think about dancing instead of thinking about my feet. It was nice to find that there really was no break-in period either. I bought my normal shoe size and the shoes are a little snug, but that seems good for dancing.

I wear a size 8.5 and was torn as to the size to order since half sizes are not available. The 8 was way too small, but the size 9 is just right. Arch support is minimal so they are comfortable for my flat feet. Zappos, as usual, was great and now that I have the right size, so are the shoes.

Salvatore Capezio was born in 1871 in Muro Lucano, Italy. Uninterested in following in his father’s footsteps as a construction engineer, he became an artist of his own right, a cobbler. In 1887, at the age of 17, he opened his shop on Broadway and 39th Street, diagonally across from the old Metropolitan Opera House in New York City. Soon, the shop became a meeting place for dancers who would stop by to discuss their needs and to get a pair of his shoes. As Capezio’s popularity grew, dancers from around the world made it a point to visit him and purchase his shoes.

The innovation of the products that Salvatore Capezio created and the camaraderie he shared with the dancers molded the direction that his company would follow. In this image, the Capezio brand was established to promote and recognize ongoing achievements and participation in dance.

Capezio products remain in the forefront in quality and in technological advances with innovations like the split-sole, the stretch-insert, the Dansneaker® and the Tapsneaker. Capezio believes that their success is dependent upon the individual commitment of each customer to continually set new standards of creativity and performance, while preserving a reputation for dependability and distinction. Capezio pledges their support and dedication to the advancement of dance, theater and recreation in communities worldwide.

A winner! Comfortable from the get-go! Surprised at the slippery leather bottom vs. split leather sole... but this was how the shoe was presented! Made husband impress the dance instructor with his improved dancing!

Tom's review - The shoes were very high on the heel. This is my first dancing shoe so that may be normal. My wife bought these for me for our ballroom dance lessons.

Nice Shoes - These Capezio Men's Oxford shoes are really good and for an affordable cost. They fit well and I can move well in them. I feel more like a dancer just by putting them on. They look very good both from closeup and from a distance if you are wearing them on stage. Comfortable, good quality, and at a good price. Plus, they came quickly and as described by Zappos.

Capezio's Men's Oxford - Purchased this style of shoe for ballroom dancing. Need to get the shoe worn in a few times before it fits comfortable. Shoe size is a slight smaller than advertised. Heel height is about right for dancing.

Very comfortable dance shoes - Very impressed with how quickly they became broken in and comfortable. It took probably 2-hrs and they fit like a glove. They are true to your dress shoe size, not street shoe like the website states. FYI, the shoes are more of a matte black than a dress black.

Dance - I'm a woman and I bought this shoe to wear my orthodics in when we go dancing as I have a lot of foot problems and heel spurs. I needed the leather sole so I could slide instead of having the friction. It looks fine with dress slacks or jeans. I had to return this shoe twice for a larger size to get it to fit. I wear a 9.5W women’s and I needed a 9W in this shoe. I think if it would have been a little wider shoe I could of wore an 8.5W instead of the 9.

Capezio's Character shoes - The look and manufactured quality of these shoes is really fine. There were only two problems I found. First, they were a little on the tight side as received compared to shoes I normally buy. They are comfortable now, though after I wore them on stage over the last 2 weeks. Second, the laces provided were very flimsy . They only lasted a week before one lace broke in 2 places. Minor point, but still an annoyance.

Very satisfied - This is my first pair of character shoes in a long time, and I'm surprised by how comfortable these are. I'm only using them for plays and musicals, as opposed to just dancing, and they are suiting my purposes quite well.
