Bloch Prolite II... worth the money - This dance shoe is very comfortable for all levels of dancers. The canvas foot arch allows for better breathing and minimizes sweat from the feet. No underfoot lumps, very attractive in demi-pointe. Split soles add to more pronounced arch. Very pleased over all, however I recommend only ordering 2.5 sizes smaller from street shoe rather then 3.

Ballet Slipper Bloch's Prolite II hybrid - I am an older lady who takes ballet class for fun and these slippers are wonderful since they are wide enough for my feet and provide the protection against my foot and the dance floor.
Brands I'd also recommend: The Capizio if they have slender feet

A Lovely Dance Shoe - After wearing this shoe for 4 years, it's incredibly difficult to wear another. As an advanced dancer, they are ideal for class, and extrememly soft, and supple, allowing me to 'feel the floor' which is important to me.

About Bloch
Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch’s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

Tai Chi girl - I really like this shoe for tai chi, but I have not used it for ballet. It is comfortable and really molds to the foot. One should probably order two sizes smaller, instead of three.

Good Shoe - These shoes fit great. I took the advice of another post and ordered 2 1/2 sizes smaller rather than just 2 sizes and they fit wonderfully. I went to my first ballet class and I thought the shoes worked great.

fabulous - I just got these yesterday. They are just what I wanted. 2 1/2 sizes smaller fit perfect. They felt fabulous and no break in period. I bought them for my combat conditioning and they are just what I needed. I can still feel the floor and develop strength in my feet without getting dirt in between my toes. I said it felt a half size larger than marked bc it said to order 3 sizes down from your street shoe size and I only went 2 1/2 down bc of an earlier review.
Brands I'd also recommend: This is my only recommedation

Excellent ballet slipper - Very well constructed. Top notch materiels. My only complaint is the toe is too tapered for my foot. Would like it if they offered the same shoe with a more rounded toe.

True to size for boys - Great shoe. But your recommendation to go two full sizes down was a bit off in our case. I ordered the shoe for my son (Just try to find ballet shoes for a boy size 4!!!!) and the size 2 was too tight. We went with the 3 (we removed the elastic tie), but I think he would have gotten more wear from a 4 (his actual size).

Get 2 - 2.5 sizes down!! I originally got 3 sizes down as recommended but these were way too small my toes were all scrunched up! I got 2.5 sizes down, a very snug fit. Order 2 sizes down for some room, 2.5 sizes down if you want your shoes to fit like a glove. A pretty shoe with low sides that flattered my square flat feet and did not slip off my narrow heels.

Nice shoes - These shoes make my arches look fantastic. They are also extremely comfortable, but the heel feels a little loose. I needed a size 4B but they only had 4C, and they are true to size (that's why the heel is loose). The heel also felt a little thick on the bottom when I first got them but that will wear down with time. I love Bloch's jazz shoes and ballet flats. They hold up really well, feel like they were made for my feet, and don't fall apart easily. If you want them to fit like a glove, buy all your Bloch shoes 2 to 2.5 sizes smaller that your street shoes. I like this cut of ballet flats much better than the Bloch SO258L Economy Split that my old studio required. If you have a choice in shoes, it's worth paying a bit more for the Prolight II Hybrids. I just wish the elastic they come with came pre-sewn. I'm lazy.

Order two sizes down from street size - The instructions say to order three sizes smaller than one's street size, but that's too small. These shoes run only two sizes smaller than street size, not three. In both shoes, the insole near the toes came loose right away, before the shoes were even broken in (before I had even sewn on the elastic). The width of the front part of the wide size felt good, but the heel was too wide. Most ballerinas do not need the heel to be wide.

Love - I love the Bloch Prolite II Hybrid. They are the only ballet shoe I will wear. Last year, I bought Capezio and ended up hating them and "losing" one. This year I bought Bloch. They’re way more comfortable and I love the canvas and leather. <3

Good ballet slipper - I had to order a half size larger than I needed, but these are still very good ballet slippers, especially for those of us with narrow feet! The canvas middle helps hug your foot. Follow sizing guidelines- ordering 3 sizes smaller than street shoe size.

Very happy - I use these shoes for cha cha dance class practice. They hug the foot really well; they stayed on even without the elastics sewn in yet. Even though they have no "arch support" I do feel that the shoes hug the arch very comfortably, especially with the elastics in. I only needed to go down 2 sizes rather than the recommended 3. Then again, it was a C, or wide shoe. Very comfy.

I normally wear a size 8.5 and I ordered a size 5.5 in these. They fit quite well, as I like a snug fit. I have been a dancer for many years and like my shoes to really hug my feet. I don’t think that these make my feet look as good as they could, though, (when my feet are pointed) and so I will only give them 4 stars. I've only worn Bloch shoes my whole life but will probably try a different brand next time.
