Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch´s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

True to size for boys - Great shoe. But your recommendation to go two full sizes down was a bit off in our case. I ordered the shoe for my son (Just try to find ballet shoes for a boy size 4!!!!) and the size 2 was too tight. We went with the 3 (we removed the elastic tie), but I think he would have gotten more wear from a 4 (his actual size).

I was very happy with my purchase (except for having to sew the straps - no big deal but I'm a lousy sewer). I got the size right the first time. I ordered 2-2.5 down from my usual street shoe size and it fit me just right. They are comfortable and I like the way they look. I'm not a trained dancer and don't have a lot of experience buying dance shoes, but I would buy these again.

A really great shoe! I was hesitant to order these because the price difference but they were well worth it! I normally wear a size 9 shoe and had to order these in a 6.5. I orginally ordered a 7 but they were a little too lose for my taste.

We had to try several brands and sizes of ballet slippers to find something that fit my daughter who wears a size 11 shoe. The 8.5 in this slipper was just right. Thanks to Zappos free shipping both ways, fast delivery, and easy return process, we were able to get the right shoes without driving all over town.
