Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch´s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

Gorgeous shoe but the heel is really 3 inches if you measure to the actual height at the back of shoe. Way too high for ballroom, in my opinion. It hurt to return this!

I purchased these for my latin ballroom dance class, have been wearing them for over a month now & I like them very much. I love the extra stability of the flared heel. The toe box straps are a little wider than my other latin sandals, but are not a problem, as I can really spread out my toes as my instructor always tells us to do! I don't find the lack of a slot for the strap on the underside to be an issue; my straps stay in place. The quick-connect buckle is great. I've worn all brands of ballroom shoes: Supadance, Capezio, Dance Naturals & more. These are one of my favorite pairs. I'm even considering another pair of Blochs from Zappos. (Plus the crystals are very pretty!)

I was pleasantly surprised to find that Zappos carries Latin dance shoes. The shoes have some great attributes, but sadly I had to return them. As a competitive dancer, I have to be extremely picky about my shoes, and this pair was missing certain requirements. Things that were great: - Very flexible sole - Dark tan color is the standard color for Latin dance shoes - Slim heel - Ankle strap crosses over the top of the foot - Quick-fasten buckle - Beautiful strappy look and good placement of toe straps - Very lightweight. Things that were lacking: -The ankle strap wasn't secured to the sole at the point where it passes underneath the sole. This could potentially lead to the strap slipping. I didn't want to risk it. - The toe straps nearest the arch have elastic, so the shoe doesn't hug the arch of the foot when the foot is pointed. This was the biggest design flaw in the shoe. - The plastic material covering the heel had a tendency to slip if the foot wasn't placed properly. - Heel cap didn't cover enough of the heel. Overall, it's a beautiful and flexible shoe that might serve well for social dancing, but I wouldn't recommend it for serious dancers.
I'd also recommend: Ray Rose, Supadance
