Very comfortable with great flexibility! These are fantastic shoes!! They already feel comfortable and broken in when you first put them on. Your arch looks great in them even if you have flat feet! Order your size carefully, however. I normally wear between a 5 1/2 and a 6 street shoe. I ordered a 6 1/2 and my toe was jammed uncomfortably. I had already danced in them, but was able to give them to my 9 year-old, who also loves them! I subsequently ordered a size 7 and they fit perfectly! They also have a great look to them--different than most jazz shoes.

Bloch Dansoft split sole - If this were a regular shoe, the sizing would be fine, but for dance, it's at least 1 size too large. I read the reviews here & ordered my usual size - 8 - but found I need a 7 for my dance/exercise class.

About Bloch
Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch’s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

Great ballet slipper. I am normally a size 8, but kept this slipper in a size 6.5 and it seems to fit well (a little puckering around the small toes, but not bad). If you have narrow feet - I highly recommend ordering the 'A' width. I have very 'skinny' feet, so I ordered the narrow and I STILL feel it could be more fitted - but it's acceptable (will probably re-sew the elastic strap). Overall, an excellent ballet slipper - and leather is a much better choice than canvas!

Ballet shoes for fitness - Very comfortable, I bought my regular shoe size 8 1/2 but I could have bought the 7 1/2 since I would have liked them to be snug for the ballet fitness class I am taking.

Quite adorable! In a sense, I am disappointed. I'd wanted to use these for my ballet exercises, but have ended up using them around the home when relaxing or puttering about with non-strenuous activities (cooking, knitting, laundry, etc.). The reason for this is that they are too big. I ordered 1/2 size smaller than my street size (6.5 as opposed to 7) and it still seems like there's about an inch of room in this shoe not filled by my footsies. I was going to send them back for a smaller pair, but they are more comfortable than any slippers I've found and are worth the $25 for that alone. I would like to purchase these in a 6 (a full size smaller than my street size) and use them for exercising. It seems that they'd be great for that. Properly sized.
Brands I'd also recommend: Capezio Teknik - my favorite by far!

Good beginner shoes - Had these as a beginner student about 2 years ago, now I am an advanced student at a pre-professional Ballet Academy. These fit 2-1/2 to 3 sizes SMALLER than street shoe size. I wear a street shoe size 6.5, and wore a size 4 in these. Just to let people know, these are NOT made as fashion shoes, these are for dance training, and I would NOT even recommend them for exercise because they have no arch support. In Ballet training, we continually stretch and strengthen our arches, to the point wear standing flat, we learn to pull up and out of our own arches, there for supporting themselves, which prevents fallen arches. Zappos should really list the size recommendations, as they company lists them to every retail client. It gets confusing for consumers. Ballet shoes (including pointed shoes) rarely ever fit same as street shoes.
Brands I'd also recommend: sansha pro, freed of london pointe shoes, chacott

Ballet slippers - They fit my daughter perfectly. She has taken dance now for five years and she has not complained at all about the slippers. She says they are comfortable. Thanks.

Bloch Ballet Shoes - Good price and value for money. Ordered according to other reviews on sizing but for my daughter they were true to size (same as street shoe). She prefers the Blochs to the Capezios.

Great Ballet shoes! My daughter wore them right out of the box and said they were very comfortable. No break-in time. We ordered her regular shoe size. Great shoe for Ballet!

Good basic split sole. Runs extremely large! I first ordered 2 full sizes smaller than street size, and had to go another half size smaller. I wear a 9-9.5 and needed a 6.5 in these.

I'm 22 and I just started taking adult ballet classes. These shoes are working out really well so far. I wear a size 6 so I ordered a size 4 and the fit is nice. I'm no pro, but I would recommend this shoe.

At 28, I took my very first ballet class. I bought these shoes and they performed well. If I had to do it over again, I might have purchased a pair with an elastic that could have wrapped around under my arch. This one elastic strap crosses the top of the foot right before the ankle starts. Overall, they got the job done, and I was happy to be able to try on a few different sizes and send the rest back to Zappos after keeping the size I felt fit the best.

Bloch is one of those companies that just makes it right. These shoes fit right, are easy to adjust, and have soft leather that allows the foot to do its thing. One thing to keep in mind - be sure to ask the dance teacher whether the kids should be in a fill-leather sole or a split sole. Luckily, if you do need to send things back, Zappos makes it easy!
Brands I'd also recommend: Capezio

My daughter wears and 8 shoe and these size 6 fit her. She loved them and doesn't do ballet; she will wear around house and maybe for a costume (cosplay Princess tutu).

Got for dancing indoors and love these, can't take them off! I got a 7, which fit great, usually wear a 9.5 shoe or 10 boot.
