Bloch loved watching ballet and visited many dance studios. At one such studio, he noticed a young dancer who was having trouble staying on pointe. Bloch promised he would make her a better pair of shoes, and so he did. After that, Bloch´s reputation for making good dance shoes spread rapidly.
At Bloch, the respect the company has for its clients' art is infinite. Contributing to a dancer's artistry, in even the slightest way is the ultimate Bloch goal. Admittedly jealous of their clients' artistic ability, Bloch is proud to contribute confidence and beauty through the best dance footwear in the world.

I got these shoes for Zumba, after I my hip started to hurt (I'm guessing from turning and twisting in running shoes). They work well for me, there's far less torque on my knees and hips. I'm an 8 1/2, regular width, ordered a 9 and they fit perfectly. I didn't need to break them in. The shoes are remarkably lightweight and breathe well. The problem I most frequently have with shoes is the toe box being too small; I don't have that problem with these. I did feel my foot slide out a few times on the wooden floor during the first minute or two the first time out; I think my brain just needed to adjust to the different shoes. I'm glad I got these; I can't believe I went so long without them. I haven't tried other aerobic dance shoes, so I can't compare these to others, but I'm pretty happy. Also, I noticed my feet don't look as dorky dancing in these shoes as in running shoes, as for the rest of me, uh, well...nevermind.

Ordered a a gift and bought a size larger as that is what others had said. Still too small, now have to pay to return. That makes a very bad unwelcome gift!

I bought these for Zumba class based on others' reviews. They were a great choice! Normally wear a size 6 so I ordered 6½. I have narrow feet, and they fit perfectly.

The advice of getting these one size larger was accurate. These are great for Zumba class! I am amazed at how fast they arrived -- does Zappos have a facility around the corner from my house?

It took trying on a lot of shoes, but I finally found my Zumba shoes! I love the comfortable fit and the lightweight feel. They have the right amount of slide and friction on the dance floor. If you need a lot of support in your shoes, you might not like these. I do though - I appreciate the flexibility of the shoe. I don't feel as if the shoes are getting in the way of my feet and ankles being flexible and strong. I normally wear an 8, and I got an 8 1/2.

The Bloch dance sneaker is ugly in my opinion. Actually, the picture looks better than the real thing. That being said, the sneaker is great for Zumba. Since I started using the Bloch dance sneaker about a month ago in my Zumba dance and Zumba toning classes, I no longer feel torsion in my ankles and knees when I do the many spins. The sneaker has very good lateral (side-to-side) support as well. I only have two complaints in terms of comfort. First, you must be careful when taking this split sole sneaker on and off, otherwise you can end up with foot cramps (that happened the first time I tried them on). Second, I can sometimes feel something under the ball of my foot that I think may be the edge of the plastic pad. I agree with other reviewers, order 1 full size up from your street shoe size. I normally wear a 7.5 and I ordered an 8.5.
