Birkenstock

I normally wear size 5 or 5.5, but the size 36 was about an inch too long. I ordered a 35 and it was still quite big. So I'm returning both and trying a youth size 34. Hope it will fit because I really like this style.

These are the most comfortable shoes I own. I wear my Birks as house shoes, barefoot in summer, with socks in winter. I'm so used to them, I really notice it when I don't wear them. Birkenstock also make full leather shoes (which you can buy in Germany), of which I have a pair and they are great as well. And to all those who tell you the shoes are ugly - who cares if you're comfortable and pain-free? In fact, Birks are the #1 footwear choice of doctors and nurses in Germany because they are so comfortable for long hours of use.

Great sandal, only issue I have and is the same with all Birks is the arch break in. The sandal will rub the inside of my arch creating some irritation. Eventually it goes away, but though the soft footbed would be better. Fit was good, although I did order a size larger, I need extra room in the toe area.

I ordered these and about 6 other pair, to compare and see which I liked the best. I have a very flat and narrow foot. I got these is narrow. I tried them on, sent them back and then I reordered them and they have been on my feet continuously. I felt lost without them. =)

This is my second pair of Birkenstocks and I've found that their sizes run a little big. For instance, I wear a women's 7.5 in Toms...and in these I wear a 37 (which is considered a 6-6.5 to them). But I love the sandal. The leather is perfect...and I think the color could pass for black or brown depending on your outfit, but it's actually a dark dark brown sandal. I love them. So comfortable.

This style of Birks never lets me down. Comfortable, easy to slip on, and true fit. Purple is my favorite color and these are dreamy.

Cute and comfortable, these are a great pair of shoes. I bought them because I had a silver pair that were a different style, but wore them out. These are nice because they are kind of a "gladiator" style, but your feet aren't killing you at the end of the day. They look nice with capris, and the silver matches with pretty much everything. I am wearing them as I write this review!

This shoe had too much arch support. I have flat feet, and immediately was in pain when I put the shoes on. The suede straps were also rough on the edges, so this pair of shoes is being returned.

I have worn Birkenstock for years a house slippers because of my Plantar Fascia and my feet do not bother me. I purchased this Birki for my husband because he complained of tired feet he love them and wear them everywhere. A great shoe.

Okay, I'm wearing these today and have had a few wow those look cool comments. I've never had a pair of Birkenstocks that fit around the toe, very interesting.

I'll be honest, I just put these shoes on about 10 minutes ago, but am so happy that I decided to review them right away. I plan to write another after wearing them in. Needless to say, I am very happy with these shoes! I ordered them in the Toffee brown color and am happy with my choice. The picture is true to the look of the shoe: dark brown with a metallic wash over it. I like the subtle shine - it can go casual or dressy. As far as size, I am a 9.5-10 shoe US - really my right foot is a 10 and my left foot is a 9.5. At the recommendation of a woman at a shoe store, I ordered a 41 (converts to a 10-10.5) and am glad I did, rather than ordering down as other reviewers suggested. My right foot fits perfectly and the left just has a tiny bit of room in the back of the heel. This is not a problem after adjusting the T-strap to the second hole to keep it snug to my arch. I love the fact that these run a little wider than the average shoe as my feet are wide at the toes and narrow at the heels. I have just enough space width-wise and the heel cup fits well. Even just sitting and walking around my house, it feels good on my foot to have the arch support and heel cup - I also have high arches and can't wear just flat plastic flip flops any more. I am excited to break them in and get a little more flexibility in the soles. Then they will be perfect! As a side-note, I am very impressed with my order through Zappos. I ordered these shoes at 9:30pm last night and just received them at 4:30pm today. Wow. I also had to call customer service to fix a typing error on my shipping address and had a great experience. The wait was short (less than 10 minutes despite the recording telling me they were handling a lot of calls and had longer than normal wait times) and the woman I spoke to was friendly and accommodating. Thank you Zappos, you have earned yourself a new supporter!

I love them. Not really a Berk girl but saw everyone in Paris rearing them and looking good. Super comfy. Wear them every wear now.

Love this sandal! I was looking for something besides the basic flip flop that I could wear all day without my feet hurting and this is it. Love the adjustable straps, they make it easy to fit anyone's foot. I did order my regular size and they fit great! They did hurt for a little bit while my foot got used to the footbed, but after a couple hours of wear they are perfect. The color is a little darker than the picture for the antique lace, more of a darker cream than off white. Overall they are great! Love Zappos!

Awesome! I wear a 10 in sneakers and ordered 40 and it fit true. No break in time for me. Cute and funky shoe. The plastic between the toes didn't bother me. I'm used to flip flops though. Buy them if you like them. They are adorable in person!

So, I haven't had a pair of Birkenstocks in about 20 years, mostly because I didn't want to look like a dirty hippie anymore. :) I do love my flip-flops though, and I was sick of them wearing out in no time flat, so I ordered these. I liked them so much that I ordered them in black too. They took a couple of wears to break in the top strap, but just like Birk's do, they very quickly formed to my fee and now are the most comfortable sandals I own. They are good for moderate walking, though I'm not sure I'd try to go more than couple of miles in them. At any rate, they are great looking sandals, if a little pricey. I'm sure they'll last forever.

Beware the toe straps on this shoe! I've worn Birks before and have been very pleased -- these are just not comfortable for long walks, primarily because of the toe strap. Fine for running around, shopping,etc., but I'm going to be looking elsewhere for a good walking sandal.

I really love these and may get another pair. They're comfortable, easy to walk in, and they don't look dorky.

I owned a pair of Birkenstock hiking shoes that offered good comfort and lasted many years. I was excited when the Kairo became available. I wanted a black sandal and I figured the price was well worth it since Birkies are so well made and really hold up well. I have a very wide foot and was happy when the shoes arrived and fit perfectly. Unfortunately, these shoes are not even remotely comfortable. The thong between the toes is very hard and abrasive. It has improved slightly over several hours of wear, and I think it may eventually become a non-issue. But right now it's painful and I have to pull my feet back in the shoe whenever I can to find temporary relief. The foot bed itself is also very hard and offers no real comfort. You feel every little pebble beneath your feet. Walking around my campus, which has pebbled sidewalks, is not pleasant, however the footbed isn't a problem when I'm on smooth surfaces.All in all, I remain optimistic that the shoe will break in and give me years of wear.

This is a wonderful sandal and it is an extremely well made product. I bought this new pair as an exact replacement of my previous Birks which had lasted 15 years.
