Birkenstock footwear is designed and sized to provide a roomy fit allowing your toes and feet to wiggle and be free. This sometimes takes a bit of getting used to. Also, most Birkenstock styles come in two widths; narrow and regular so you can really find the best possible fit for your feet. For the most natural, fit, your feet should rest comfortably inside the footbed and there should be about ¼˜ between your toes and the end of the footbed.

I usually wear an 8-8.5 but they were way to big. I ordered the next size down and they fit great. I did try to wear them to long at first and my right foot hurt. But, once I broke them in the way they recommended too, they are very comfy.

I bought these Birkenstocks for my husband's birthday. He had expressed a desire for a new pair, since his old Birkenstocks were already pretty worn. Believe me, these sandals can last a lifetime and is a very wise investments, especially if you are concerned about comfort and stability. We are pleased customers of Zappos. I Love Birks. I have narrow feet and high arches. Hard feet to fit. This is my first pair of high arch Birks and they are awesome! Only problem is the color isn't my favorite but the comfort makes up for it. I am so hoping they make more colors and styles with the narrow and high arch combo! As always Zappos can't be beat. They are the best.
I can't imagine these would ever be comfortable for my low arched feet. I have a few other pairs of shoes that are supposed to provide arch support and they continue to cause me to ache where they pop up. I assumed that a soft footbed meant they would adjust to one's feet - not the other way around. Luckily shipping back and forth is free. I would certainly not recommend this to anyone with low arches.
These sandals are the best, and well worth the money. They last for years. I have a pair in white and also in black. Now with this beige color, I feel like I am set for anything the summer has to offer.
Another great pair of Birkenstocks! The leather is simple and is breaking in nicely. They are destined to be very comfortable!
I have narrow feet and I love these! The wool is soft and warm. It has a lower profile and I am wearing them without socks. They are so supportive and great.
These do feel wider than my sandals of the same size. A half size smaller would have been perfect.
Practically the only shoes I wear in summer--and sometimes in cooler weather with colorful socks. After break-in they feel like you aren't wearing shoes at all.
I'm in love with these shoes. Goal here was a dressy Birk and this is perfect. Amazing comfort and a great look. I get a ton of compliments every time I wear them too.
Birkenstock sandals were recommended to me years ago as a treatment for heel spurs. I continue to wear them consistently. Zappos' has the best online and telephone help imaginable. A "BIG PLUS" is their "OVER THE TOP" fast delivery. Great job, ZAPPOS!!!!!
I love these in silver. Always thought Birkenstock sandals would be too wide for my very narrow feet, but these were perfect! If you have narrow feet, buy these, but save me a pair in copper! As usual great service from Zappos!
Loving these and I've only had them a couple hours! Had to get a size down, usually wear a 9 but, got a 39 (8). They are extremely sturdy but, look good.
The narrow Birkies are fabulous. The Mayari style gives me such a good fit for my long, narrow foot with high arch, that they are my go everywhere shoes. I can wear them with fairly snug straps, and they are so comfortable and stable that I have replaced all of my expensive golf shoes. Look great with capris for the mall. The secret if the two adjustable straps.
These Birks are exactly what they look like on the website, or actually better looking in person. They fit nicely and are so comfortable and makes your feet look nice at the same time. I am very happy with them and the colors are amazing!

This is my dream come true. I always wanted Birk footbeds for my boots. I cannot fit the plastic part in with the cork part but the cork part is what really helps hold your arch up and has a deep heel cup. They are awesome for high arches and people whose feet only feel heavenly in a Birkenstock but that want to wear other style shoes!
My fourth pair of Birkenstocks! I have issues with my feet and need all the arch support that I can get when I don't wear close-toed shoes, and these are great and comfortable. I wear them to work where I stand all day and afterward I am not sore. Love these shoes!
