Shoe Size: Felt a full size smaller than marked Shoe Arch: Moderate arch support Shoe Width: Felt narrower than marked
These shoes are achingly beautiful right out of the box. I say achingly because when I tried to put the shoe on - it ached terribly. Actually, it just plain hurt. I normally wear an 8.5 and followed the recommendation to order one half size smaller. That was a mistake for me. Also, this shoe is incredibly narrow. I don’t think I have Hobbit-like feet, but the shoes were extremely narrow. If you normally wear an M (normal width), you might want to wait a few weeks until Bass releases some new styles in wider widths. I returned the beautiful Bass Wayfarers in shiny Burgundy for Sebago Plaza in Cordo. Both are handsewns, so wish me luck tomorrow when the Sebagos arrive!

I am loving these shoes. I get compliments every time I wear them. They are true to size, but a little stiff. Having had Bass penny loafers in the past, I expect them to be more comfortable after I have broken them in a little.

I was very disappointed at how narrow these shoes are. I am a true 8.5M and I could barely get this show on my foot. The length felt very short as well. The shoes look beautiful, but I am returning them.

These shoes are extremely comfortable for my feet with high arches. Make sure you get a half a size smaller than what you usually wear or they will definitely be too big! The red is not clown-like or loud...very classy and cute with a pair of dockers and a sweater! I was able to fit quarters in the slots but couldn\'t quite get the Golden Dollars in. I\'ll be ordering more in other colors!

I love the look of these and got nostalgic for a pair after practically living in them in college. The look and color of the shoe is beautiful (I bought Karicole). However, I wear a size 6 99.9% of the time and after reading the reviews I bought a size 5.5. They're still too big. I'm really disappointed in how Bass is sizing these. They're absurdly off in terms of coming close to being accurate. My foot is neither wide nor narrow and these do run a little narrow. I did have breaking in issues, although not hugely so (tightness but no blisters). The biggest problem has been wearing socks thick enough to keep the shoe on my foot. I'm overall very disappointed and because I wore them out of the house, I'm stuck with them.

Love them! They do run large, took a half size smaller. I had to put some insoles in them also. Very classy, shiny, sporty. Looks great with straight legged jeans.

I wore these all through college and hadn't had a pair for years. I am 99% of the time a size 6. It is a very rare occasion I am not. I followed the suggestions and bought these in a 5.5. They're still a half size too big, but I've worn them so I'm stuck with them. I need to go buy some kind of inserts so they fit better. I'm disappointed, but I'll get over it. They're great looking, nice shoes but I suggest buying one whole size smaller. I have a normal arch and normal width and they fit fine.

I love my shoes! They are super comfortable! Although they do take some breaking in because they are leather and the penny loafer strap makes the shoe snug accross the top of your foot but it does loosen up as you wear them. I really recommend getting these shoes if you want that classic style!

Fabulous loafers. Whenever I wear them, I get compliments. I am just about ready to order another pair. The width is perfect, and the size is just a bit too large, so for an 8, order 7 1/2. The shoes come quickly. Couldn't be happier.

I love the way these look. They are a beautiful shoe, but they make my feet bleed. After ordering and returning 2 other sizes (I'm a 10 but had to get 9.5) and wearing them as much as possible, I have still not broken them in. The leather is stiff and I have tried everything. I have resorted to carrying another pair of shoes with me to change into. I have normal sized feet, not too wide. I have started putting thick tape on the back of my heels while I wear them. If anyone can tell me how to break in these shoes, please tell me. I love them and don't want to give up.

Love these shoes! They turned out to be true to my 6.5 size but were narrow in the ankle. They will need to be broken in, so wear them around your home before wearing them out to an event.

Wonderful shoe! Glad to see Bass is getting back to their traditional thicker leather shoe. The last pair I bought a few years ago was horrible. The leather was weak and the shoe didn’t last too long. I have another pair of burgundy Bass penny loafers that I have literally had for 25 years, and they are in fabulous condition. To me the shoe ran true to size (I wear an 8.5). My only gripe is that Bass doesn’t make AA widths anymore, which I need. The heel slipped so I’ve returned them.

Finally found what I was looking for - A bit more narrow than 'medium'. I love them. I have been looking for a 'penny loafer' for months in stores... They are almost 'broken in'.

Classic shoe - I love classic penny loafers - they are kind of my trademark. The navy blue leather was beautiful and it looks perfect for the classic weekend look of shirt, sweater, and jeans. I also have this shoe in tan and red. The red looks sort of like dark red patent leather and it really makes a statement when worn with denim or casual tan or black slacks.

Beautiful color, but not a beautiful fit. I purchased this shoe based upon reviews that it was a half size larger. However for me, it was too short in length as well as too narrow in width.

Great jeans shoe - As the first reviewer said the soft leather conforms to my foot too. These are 8.5 in comfort for wearing barefoot, no sore spots or blisters, just a little more structured; however, they look really classy vs. a driving moc. I wear to school events, dinner out...

Ordered as suggested by the manufacturer... I ordered this shoe one half size smaller than my normal size, as noted as a manufacturer's recommendation...I was unable to even get the shoes on - they were so small. Fortunately Zappos has a wonderful return process.

Bass Wayfarer - This is a nice shoe. I don't like it as well as like the Weegun which I have worn for years, but it is an adequate substitute.
