When polar explorers trek to the North or the South Pole they subject their footwear to the most demanding conditions imaginable. Day after day they exert themselves to the point of exhaustion, pulling their equipment over the rough and unrelenting terrain. They lose as much as one pound of body weight each day in perspiration and burned calories. At night they sleep in small tents where the temperature can drop as low as -60°C (-76°F), freezing their boots. Cold feet and blisters, that might not be given a second thought in other situations, can be fatal in this environment.
While traditional molded boots are suitable for some conditions, they are not ideal for cold temperatures. In the early 90s Baffin realized that if they combined their leading molding technology with a foam-based inner boot system, they could create a new hybrid style of high performance footwear. Since then Baffin has developed new materials and combined them in new, innovative combinations. A good example is the unrivaled 8-layer combination of materials that are used in the boots that are rated for -100ºC (-148ºF).
Over the years, Baffin has created a line of industry-leading footwear that performs in extreme conditions for an ever-growing list of loyal users and activities, including snowmobiling, ice-fishing, hunting, mushing and working in industries like construction, oil, mining, forestry, and outdoor winter recreation. Because of this, Baffin has become the leader in footwear for all your cold weather needs.

Yay! These are just like I'd hoped they'd be. Very warm without being hot, snug without being tight or constricting, soft & puffy without being too big or clumsy. Except for the little plastic string tightener at the top, there's no hard parts at all. Definitely an indoor slipper. It's like wearing little down jackets on your feet. Not luxurious, but a very serviceable and comfortable solution for cold winter floors.Read more » « Show less December 6, 2011 by Mark C

Wore OUT!!! I bought a pair of these the first week of December. By the first week of January, I had holes in the soles of both slippers. I have to blame this on the ceramic tile floors we have in our house; but they still shouldn't have worn out in the month!Read more » « Show less January 12, 2009 by Darrell

I bought 4 pairs of these for my teenage children to use when jumping on the trampoline in the Michigan winter. They arrived lightening fast. They do run small so I had to make one exchange but the kids love them and wear them all the time. Warm and comfy, water resistant for the quick jaunt outside and the price was right. Much less expensive than their North Face counterparts.

I have owned down slippers for over 15 years and these are the best ones I have ever had. They hold up the best, have lots of down, cinch at the ankle to keep the warmth in and have a solid enough sole that you don't foot does not slop around inhibiting balance. Buy these.

I bought two pairs six weeks ago. My wife's are fine and she loves them. They are very warm. I thought mine were great, too, but I noticed fabric on the sole on one is already torn where the sole is stitched to the rest of the boot. I am very disappointed since all I have done is wear them around the house in a normal manner!
