Overall these were nice looking shoes and not really uncomfortable, although initially a bit difficult to get my feet into. Unfortunately, they were just to clunky and heavy to be comfortable all day long at work, so I am returning them.

These are great, durable boots. It took a few times to wear them in, as the left one pinched my arch somehow, but a little stretching with a shoe tree fixed the problem and now they're very comfortable!

I bought my first pair of the Ariat roper twelve years ago and after almost constant wear for the past five years, I needed a new pair. I found these to be much wider in the "ankle" and a bit more in the heel. The old pair still needs pulled on and the new pair can be stepped into. I don't know if Ariat has a new supplier or if the mold has changed, but I wish they still needed a bit of a pull and were not so loose in the heel - they are eating up my new socks. And any thicker socks would never fit in the toe.

Most comfortable boots I've ever worn! I've routinely worn these boots every day or two for anywhere from 8-20 hours per day for the last three years. Replaced the insoles twice, and they're good as new. Don't set off metal detectors at airport security, and comfortable for any season. Will buy again and again!

Couldn't even get it on my foot. These aren't wide by any stretch of the imagination. (Like that? Play on words?!) Nice boots though. Wish they would have fit. I need boots for the barn.

My first cowboy boot so I was a bit clueless on how they would fit. I wear 9.5 in shoes and ended up with 8.5EE (Wide) in these boots. The toe box is very generous. The heel will feel loose at first until the boot breaks in, then it will conform. Overall I am happy with my purchase so far.

Love the boot - want to keep it. It is just too narrow in the foot and I even ordered a 1/2 size larger than normal. The boot rocks - and the wide calf fits perfect!

Very nice if you like them! I wear 8.5-9 with left foot slightly shorter. In this shoe the right foot fit perfectly but the left foot wouldn't stay all the way in! Looked funny on my feet. Like the neutral color on a tan leg!

These hurt so badly I couldn't even try to walk in them. In the 10 seconds it took to rip them off they had already left red marks on my ankles that took an hour to fade! I've tried 3 different styles in the Ariat brand and sadly, they just don't seem to work for my feet. I have a friend who raves about hers, but we do have very different feet. My feet are small with narrow heels, high arches and prominent ankle bones. The boot itself was very well made and looked great. Sadly it was too uncomfortable to wear so I returned them and found a pair of Justin's that are fabulous.

I wanted to love these so badly. Unfortunately they were so stiff I couldn't even stand up straight in them. They sort of pushed my calves forward so I had to stand with knees bent or have the back of the boots dig into my legs. I asked a friend who owns several Ariat boots if this is normal and they just needed to be broken in. She said all her boots were super comfortable right out of the box, so I returned these. For what it's worth, I have small feet, narrow heels and a high arch.

I bought these as a comfortable pair of work shoes for the office. I really like them and would buy them again. I walk a lot on concrete and wear out my soles quickly. I hope these hold up better than my usual shoes, but I will have to wait and see.

I love my Ariat cowboy boots but the riding boots are too tall and tight on my short muscular calves. So I starting riding in paddock boots and half chaps. They are very comfortable. I wear pretty thick socks with my standard size 7 in this style.

Well made boot that fits true to size, is practical for both every day wear and riding, looks fabulous, and is just nice on the feet. Highly recommend trying a pair!

I have had my boots now for nine months and they are on my feet pretty much every time I step outside. They are that comfortable. It was a short break in period. The right one was a big snug but worth struggle as they are fine now. Bought a pair of Frye carsons around the same time and I rarely wear them as these are far superior in comfort. The look and material of Frye is lovely just not as comfortable as my Ariats. I bought a 9 and 8.5. My usual size 9 went back, 8.5 stayed with me. Don't let the stiffness of this boot scare you, mine have broken in and are very comfortable now. I get many compliments on them and I live in New England where cowgirl boots are not the norm.

These are beautiful and so very comfortable. The look is classy, not over the top stud-crusted wear only on a date boots, although they are definitely sexy enough for date night. These go with jeans or skirts and calmy say sassy class without reeking of effort. I was not looking for these, they found me. They are so much more comfortable than my Frye or my Corral cowgirl boots. These are great quality - they look better with every wear. I was looking at the Ariat Vera Cruz when I saw these, and I found them on sale. I am so happy with them. I would happily have paid full price for such comfortable well made boots. I got the mulberry ones, and they are dark enough to play nice with black, but also look great with browns and blues, and burgundies, of course. If these came in a black and grey combination, I would buy them too and be over the moon.

Beautiful, classy looking boots but not very comfy. Usually I wear Twisted X boots and they are as comfortable a sneakers. I had to try a different brand because of the lack of availability in my region. After trying on several sizes in my range I bought these in a 7.5 and I am usually and 8.5 in shoes. As they broke in they developed some really unbearable folds around the ankles that cause bruises. I did read one other review from someone who had this problem as well and I wish I had heeded the warning. Alas it is too late to return them because the discomfort occurred after breaking in. They are also very narrow in all sizes. If you have been looking for a narrow boot to fit your feet these might be your boots. The heel is also very high and feels unstable when I wear them off pavement at the barn. Better for dressing up around town.

I love these shoes. Very comfortable. I ended up getting another pair in black. (Shhh...don't tell my husband.)

I have always found Ariat boots to be my best quality footwear, and these proved to be no different. Comfortable, supportive, and good looking. I have these ropers in the laced version in "distressed brown" and I will say that the black leather (the color I have these boots in) ages and takes oil/conditioner much nicer. It also wears much better than the brown. These boots broke in nicely.

This Ariat boot is comfortable the moment it slides on you foot. I am on my second pair, having used these as barn boots at the therapeutic horseback riding center where I work. They are flexible enough for all-day comfort, warm enough for cold days, cool enough for warm days, and fit like a dream. I can't say enough about these Ariats!

The Ariat Portland shoes are perfect in every way. Have been looking for a pair of clog/moc slip-ons for a long time and this is it! Most similar shoes either look too bulky/masculine/over the top or plain hideous. These shoes are simple, strong, light weight and very good looking (brown and gray on the side are very nice); extremely comfortable and excellent fit -- true to size, allowing a pair of thin socks. These shoes are great for walking, running errands and travels, that is, if you don't want to wear your tennis/running shoes all the time. Last but not least, I ordered these shoes yesterday and within 24 hours the shoes arrived at my door. What more can I say, Zappos, you are an amazing company. Thank you!

I have been wearing the Ariat Heriatage III lace up boots to ride horses in for years when one pair wears out I replace them with another pair. I wear them with half chaps to complete my riding foot wear for training. They look and feel great around town as well (with a clean up).
