These are terrific walking shoes. I have such a difficult time finding shoes that fit my size 11 2A feet without looking like canoes! These fit the bill. They are comfortable, all-day wear. And my feet don't standout in a crowd!

These are a hit and a miss with me. I should know not to try the Mary Jane style anymore, but I keep trying. They run a little narrow. I wear a 8½WW and were tight across my toes. The rounded front make my feet look more like hooves and that is just not flattering unless you are trying to impress livestock. I love my other Aravons but find that the sizes fluctuates quite a bit between styles.

I have these in the brown and love them. They are a perfect fit with an added comfy insert...these actually run a little long because of the toe box. I thought I'd order the gray to have a different color but was disappointed. The "gray" is actually a dark brown with a shiny metallic hue. I don't see where they come up with them being gray...more of a dark purple/black when the light hits them. It's a weird color that doesn't look right when paired with brown, black or even gray. I guess if you want to wear the with just blue jeans they'd be okay. The fit was fine, otherwise.

Ok, this is my 2nd review on these shoes. I wear a size 8W so I ordered an 8W and they literally fell off my feet. They were bigger and wider than a usual 8W so I decided to try a 7 1/2 Regular. I couldn't get my foot in! This is the second pair in 2 days that I have to return and it's a shame because they are a cute looking shoe.

I wear an 8W, ordered an 8W and the shoe fell off my foot. I could not believe how big they are. They are longer than a regular 8 shoe and wider than a regular wide. They are a very stylish looking shoe but I have to send them back. I'm going to try and order a 7 1/2 regular and see if that works.

First: This is, first and foremost, a beautiful shoe! The pictures here at Zappos really don't do this shoe justice. Second: Fit! Wow! I've got hard-to-fit feet (7.5, WW, neuropathy problems) and am on my feet/moving all day. After work, I often have places to go and people to see. I need shoes that will allow me to do all that. So I've accepted that I have to live my life in flat or near-flat shoes. There are wonderful choices in such shoes, certainly, but occasionally one wants at least a bit of a heel, right? Still: My shoes must be comfortable because I'm past the place in life where I'm willing to put up with uncomfortable shoes for the sake of fashion. These shoes are a dream. I put them on and they felt immediately and exceedingly comfortable. I wore them to work today, to have coffee with a friend afterward and then for a quick trip through the grocery store before coming home -- and I could have continued wearing them! Though they cost more than I usually spend for shoes, they're so worth it. I've definitely found my new favorite work shoes and returned today to buy another pair. (I'm totally paranoid about them being discontinued. You know how that happens to our favorite items to wear...including shoes!)

These are lovely, comfortable and feminine - nothing mannish about them to me at all! They are perfect with slacks or skirts with leggings.

Pros: Wider toe box is a blessing! No cramped toes here. Wide width is a true "wide." Lining is easily removable and work with my Lynco 505 inserts. Cons: The bottom (sole and heel) is basically plastic and therefore can be slippery when walking! I would not recommend these for someone with balance problems. My experience: Searching for dressy shoes for work that allow custom inserts and won't aggravate ball of foot pain/metatarsalgia! I have tried a lot of different brands recently that claim to be orthopedic, or wide, or comfortable, or whatever. I ordered size 6.5W black in this style. Looks classy in person, the black leather has a bit of a sheen to it. These are the first "wide" width shoes that actually fit my little duck feet, width-wise! Lengthwise, they are about 1/4 inch too big even when wearing thicker socks (mid-weight wool, not trouser socks), and my heels slip out of the shoe. I would not be able to wear them with trouser socks. I am disappointed with the construction of the sole, it makes the shoe light, but also feels a bit cheap. A rubberized bottom would be much better! Having said that, they are not uncomfortable, and I will try a 6W just because the width actually fits.

After surgery on both feet and metal implants in one, I have difficulty finding shoes with closed toes that I can tolerate. One foot is larger than the other. With these shoes I can adjust both the straps and the insoles for a good fit for both feet. The roomy toe is a God-send for me. My friend who is a shoe-diva gave me compliments on my "cute shoes"!!! This is my second purchase of Aravon shoes from Zappos and it won't be my last. The return policy is great! If we could get a roomy toe with a slight point we would be really happy.

A very comfortable shoe, right out of the box. The only thing that might bug some people is that the shoe does develop a crease across the part of the foot that flexes. It doesn't bother me, but it does change the look of the shoe a bit.

Agree with other reviewers that the shoe feels larger than marked. The width is a true EE, which can be expected from Aravon. The shoe is very heavy, so it seems a tight fit would be crucial to keeping the shoe in place. Like all Aravons, the quality and look of the shoe is great.

Ok, first things first, this is not a sexy shoe ha. I work in SF and have to walk from BART to work and back as well as doing a lot of walking around the office as well. I had some Clarks and Softspots I was wearing and I was in pain every day. I saw that these were made by New Balance and that was exactly what I was looking for - a dress shoe that felt like a sneaker. I put these on right out of the box and they felt great. I have a wide and thick foot and I have tons of problems finding shoes that fit. They're always either too wide and too short or not wide enough and too long. Honestly, now that I'm in my 40s, how cute a shoe is matters exactly 0% to me. I need a shoe that can get me through the day without feeling like my feet are going to fall off by the end of the day. However, anything that could be done to superficially "girly" up these shoes would be appreciated - as long as it doesn't sacrifice the comfort.

The footbed in this 7½N left shoe is for a size 6 shoe. I ordered a second 7½N in the same shoe. That 7½N shoe was a much smaller than this one. They are both going back. There are too many inconsistencies so I hesitate to order other Aravon shoes.

Help! I ordered these shoes in 7½N and 8N. Both were too big so I ordered a 7N, which was too small. Also, these shoes have a removable footbed - the footbed in the 7½N was for size 6 shoes. So I ordered another 7½N. When I compared the two 7½N pairs, one pair was a full size larger. All are going back. There are too many inconsistencies! I am having so much trouble finding shoes to fit my narrow feet!

I live in the snow belt and wear boots for at least 4 months per year. These look pretty nice and are high quality. I was worried the heel would be a little loose, but they are very comfortable. Normally I replace the insole with an orthotic, but these had excellent arch support. Very glad I bought them, and they're easy to take on and off. The thinsulate makes them a little warm to wear indoors but I can wear them for several hours inside if I need to. The sole has fairly good traction, probably could be a little better but fine.

These just looked and felt awkward. I had high hopes, but the leather is too stiff and glossy and the fit too small.

Good-looking, tailored shoe with roomy toe box and good leather. Light, not too clunky, uniform-y, or masculine. I have wide feet, high arches, bunions, and hammertoes. Have looked a long time for replacement for BORN oxfords, which lasted almost 10 years through pavement pounding in San Francisco, Israel, and Peru. These Aravons look like they'll fit the bill. This pair is my usual size, 8-W/D, but they run slightly longer. I decided to keep them because 7.5 might be too short. So far they've proven comfortable walking around town. I may wear a thicker sock or just add a thin pad.

I loved the brown one so much (and I don't usually wear anything with any kind of heel), I bought a red pair. These are cushioned well, but are a bit more narrow in the toe box area than I feel is comfy for all day wear. I wear a 7.5 regular width shoe. I may try a wide but am afraid they may be too wide in the heel. Good thing Zappos has free shipping!

I ordered these because I need a good pair of walking shoes that fit my custom orthotics. I thought they'd be great because they're made by New Balance, which is what I always wear with my orthotics. You would think my orthotics would also fit in these, but it was NOT EVEN CLOSE. Plus, honestly, they're just very unattractive. Guess I'll stick with my NB trainers.

I have these in black suede, and I'm very happy with them. I wear 9.5W in New Balance and bought the same size boot. No problems at all with the fit. The boots look great with both dress pants and jeans.

Was panicked I wouldn't find a shoe I could wear for a five day conference. I had been suffering with bad Plantar fasciitis for two years and this shoe really saved the day. Actually for a the PF the Kenkoh massaging flip flops helped cure me but the Maya shoe was very comfy for those long days and is now my go to travel shoe. The cons are it seems they have a 90 year old lady designing all of their shoes...I can give up high fashion for great comfort but there must be a way to meet in the middle just a bit more? I would buy again but would buy more if they were a little more modern in style and better richer colors for office.
