Overall:

I purchased a pair of these shoes. Very snug fit, but very comfortable. First time I wore them on business trip, the heel fell off. I called the Allen Edmonds and asked for a store in Manhattan, NYC to exchange the shoes. Their reply was I could only send them back to the company, no retail stores in Manhattan, NYC. I got home walking, with great difficulty, to Washington DC with one heel broken off. Sent shoes back and then the company told me that this shoe did not fit my size 8D and that I should buy another, quite a bit more expensive. I did purchase the shoes and two years later the the shoes were so painful that I tossed them into my closet never to be worn again. A lot of money down the tubes.

Overall:

Wore these right out of the box and they were comfortable. I seldom wear dress shoes, but found these attractive and true to size. I wear a wide shoe and it is hard to find such quality and style. And they arrived in one day so I had them to wear for a presentation I was making the next day.

Superb construction, classic styling. Obviously pricey, but it is a high end shoe. Fairly true to size, but might be a bit narrow to some people. Ordered it in 3E and they fit well, but still snug. For those needing wider widths, I would recommend going all the way to the widest available.

Nicely styled show, but I have to question the quality on this one, especially compared to other Allen Edmonds I own. The leather is very stiff (not in a good way) and produces large permanent creases at every spot the shoe bends. Definitely sub-par leather compared to my other AE shoes. In addition, the sidce heights around the ankle are different heights between the left shoe and right shoe. The left outside edge is a half inch higher and actually hits the bottom of my ankle. Poor quality control. Hard to believe these were made in the same factory as my other AE shoes which are all of top quality. Overall can not recommend due to overall poor quality, especially at this price point! Although the style itself is great and gets compliments. Wish I would have returned them before wearing.

Excellent dress shoe. Top quality, comfortable. Goes with a wider variety of business attire without the wingtip detailing. My favorite all around dress shoe for business an interviews. Minimal arch support compared to some competing brands but very comfortable nonetheless

Allen Edmonds has achieved a perfect Price/Quality/Style formula designed heavily with the consumer in mind. A win win win! More importantly is the Zappos Customer Service team and the way they execute quickly to support the needs of their customer base. In advance of Zappos receiving a returned item physically they (Zappos CS team) applied the advanced returned credit to my replacement purchase immediately. 5 stars to the Zappos organization! Refreshing!

Excellent online catalog; very clear and detailed and easy to use. Very good prices; comparable with the best available online retail prices. Amazingly fast delivery. Very simple return or exchange process also. My wife and I now tend to look at Zappos first for many clothing needs.

Excellent!This shoe is dressy enough for my work, teaching, and is exceptionally comfortable. I take a narrow width so finding comfortable shoes was difficult.

My husband bought these shoes for our son's wedding. He has bought the Allen Edmonds brand on several occasions and has always been pleased with the style and craftsmanship of this manufacturer. He wore these shoes at the wedding for the first time. After being on his feet most of the day and evening, including dancing for a few hours, he felt his feet were as comfortable in the shoes as when he first put them on.

For years I have bought shoes under a $100, but they never lasted very long. I have read many reviews of the shoes here on Zappos as well as others. At first I was skeptical spending this much for a pair of shoes, but I am very happy with these shoes so far. I purchased both the brown (chili) and black versions of this shoe. I love the brown one so I ordered the black one as well. I have gotten many compliments at the office wearing the brown shoe. The shoes look sharp and go well with chinos and dress pants. The shoes are very comfortable with the removable orthotic insert and the vibram non- slip outsole. When you are on your feet all or most of the day, you will appreciate the comfort.

Great shoes! I always buy Allen Edmond's but have noticed that all models with non leather soles are slightly bigger than usual, I chose my usual size of 9D and with lightweight socks they are not as snug as I like them , fortunately the shoes are for those times that a heavier sock is indicated.

Needed a belt in a hurry and Zappos came thru. Only issue is that these run a bit small in size. Great belt. Greater company!

I purchased the two tone Bel Air. I get nothing but compliments when I wear them. I have been searching for the longest time for a two tone mens dress shoe. They were either too "flashy" or cheap looking. This two tone has style and class. Very comfortable, too.

Shoes look great. They have very long toe box so I\'d recommend ordering a half size smaller than normal. My right shoe bends at a weird place and digs into my big toe. It\'s only on one shoe and I\'m hoping it softens up as I wear them in. Overall, good looking shoes, not the most comfortable I\'ve ever worn.

This is a great looking shoe. I was glad that I finally stepped up and bought a pair online. They are a great looking shoe and the quality is impeccable. I was disappointed that shoe was longer than size indicated but width felt true to size. I had to return it for another pair.

These shoes are really expensive. Having said that, you get what you pay for. Bought them for my wedding, didn't break them in, and they were very comfortable for the whole day. The epitome of class, but again, really expensive. There may be better cost-effective shoes out there.

Allen-Edmonds are simply the best men's shoes available. They trend towards dressy styles, and the suede cap-toe shoe is one of them. I think suede is a great alternative to black dress shoes for Fall wear. These were ordered in my regular size and were easy to wear right out of the box. They also can be refurbished to new condition with their "Recrafting" service. Unfortunately A-E shoes are rarely discounted.

First issue. I am a size 12B, and if you are long and narrow like me you already know the problem. Allen-Edmonds is a top quality shoe company, and their products are especially good for people like us. There is never a break-in period. They also have a repair service that allows you to send your shoes to them UPS, and they essentially rebuild the product like new.

I own the Allen Edmonds Winhall Chili/Weave. These are definitely "Grown Man" shoes. When you want everyone in the room to know you've got exquisite style and class, this shoe will do the job. No matter what someone else comes into the room wearing, there is no way their shoes will overshadow these. When paired with a nice high quality Tan or Brown sportcoat, the combination can't be beat. These shoes have a nice solid weight to them that lets you know you're wearing quality footwear. They were pretty comfortable right out of the box, but with about a week's wear mine foot formed to the shoe due to the cork inserts and they fit like a glove. The definitely run a little big. I usually wear a 9 1/2 or a 10, but had to go with a 9 1/2 in these and still have plenty of room in the toe. Best of all, these shoes don't wrinkle when you wear them. The leather stays stiff looking and new. A great pair of shoes. I highly recommend them.
