This is a beautiful shoe but the stitching along the outer area of the shoe bothered my foot to the point that it rubbed it to a near blister.

The sandal is well made, but I have an strained ankle and it feels too heavy for that ankle to carry it. Afraid I will turn the ankle again.

I buy a new pair of these every summer. They are the most comfortable summer walking shoes. I love the extra height and the funky patterns they come in.

Following foot surgery, I made my last trip to my surgeon, wearing the required Air Boot on one foot. On the other, I wore my Algeria Karmen. The surgeon released me from having to wear the boot, picked up my shoe and asked why I had bought these. Told him I liked the style and was delighted to find that the heel height was the same as my boot, enabling a much more normal and comfortable stride. He proceeded to tell me why it was an excellent shoe: rocker sole, adjustable straps, supportive foot bed with outstanding arch support. I have since purchased 2 additional pairs of sandals. I find the higher platform (1 1/2" or 1.75", as this is sometimes listed) more supportive, but the lower heel is still superior to other "orthopedic-type" shoes I've tried. I'm speaking only about sandals; I haven't tried a closed toe Algeria shoe, as I pretty much wear sandals year round.

This shoe maintains the usual Alegria quality. My only concern was the fit of the top strap--the one that goes over the instep. I wear a 37 (7.5 American). I do have a narrow foot and the top strap had to be adjusted to be narrow to the extreme. This throws off the alignment of the center strap and the way your foot fits on the sole. I decided to keep the shoe because comfort and arch support were more important than looks. The skewed position of my foot on the sole was minimal. In general, this is an outstanding brand.

I love these shoes. When I got them, I put them on and wore them all day in comfort. I wear a size 7 and ordered a 37, which works great. I have wide toes and narrow heels and the shape of the shoe is perfect for me. I've also received several compliments on them so far.

These are very comfortable right out of the box. Have another pair in different style, will order these in another color. Order these, you won't be sorry.

These are really cute but did not like all the gold; I wear silver and should have noticed but it is hard to tell from pictures sometimes. Very comfortable though.

These are the best shoes in the world! I would highly recommend them. I was in such pain with arthritis,The customer service representative helped me find the correct size, she was very helpful and went out of her way to size me! Thank you Zappos! I will see you again!

This was my 1st pair of Alegrias. And I absolutely love them!!! This purchase was the first time I've really ventured into more supportive flip flops. It's a game changer having my arches supported, however I feel like I'm going to have a hard time going back to my Ugg & Yellow Box flip flops for anything more than the beach or pool now. I have no real medical issues with my feet, they are just kind of beaten up after years of being a cocktail server (we had to wear heels our whole shifts) and thought perhaps a more supportive shoe would help with feet, leg & back pain. I couldn't be any happier with my choice. I am a size 8 and the 38s fit perfectly. It's also really luxurious that the top strap is cleverly hidden Velcro that allows me to adjust the tops to fit my foot exactly. I have had many problems with flip flops fitting size wise, yet having far too much room between the top of my foot and the strap. The one thing I would warn, if you are a first timer to Alegrias is to wear them a bit for a few days around the house first. Otherwise, because your feet aren't use to arch support, you will have a very uncomfortable first day or two until your feet adjust.

I love Alegria shoes. I have a pair of the Pesca fisherman sandals, so when I wanted new oxfords, I thought of Alegria first. Very comfortable, fit right from the first time you put them on. Alegria shoes are shaped like your foot, so you aren't squeezed in or pinched anywhere. Great shoes and a very good brand.

This shoe definitely runs large. I usually wear an 11/42 in sandals to accommodate my bunions and high insteps. After reading reviews on several websites, I ordered a 41...and it is still a little loose. Probably could get by with a 40. Once you get the correct size, however, it is a beautiful and comfortable shoe. Especially love the suede foot bed.

I have arthritis in my toes and I wanted a supportive, comfortable shoe that I could walk in without pain, and these are perfect. The only reason I gave them four stars for comfort is because they were a little tight on top, but they may stretch out with wear. Plus, they have sugar skulls on them, and skulls go with everything!

By far this is my favorite Alegria shoe. I wear a US size 7M and the Euro 37 is a perfect fit. This shoe has a wide toe box and great arch support which is so helpful for those with high arches and metatarsal problems. I have the Iris and Happy Days, thinking about getting the Navy. The shoe might feel a bit clunky if you haven't worn this brand before but you get used to it. At my age comfort is more important than beauty, at least for my feet!

Love these sandals. Good arch. I wear a 10 w normally and these adjust well. Good walking sandals.

I needed semi-rigid soles to help with my MTP joint arthritis and these are 1 1/2" (their 1 1/4" is more flexible). Actually, I need semi-rigid soles, plus arch support, which these don't have for me. I mourn that my beloved Orthaheel Tides don't have a less flexible version. Wish the top strap didn't hit so high up on my foot - it's annoying, is thick, feel claustrophobic, hot, and rubs a red mark after about 15 blocks, esp if it's hot. If you're on the edge of one size, maybe consider sizing up. I measure 8.5-9 in sandals and the 39 (9-9.5) fits me. Plenty of volume for my voluminous feet without showing velcro to adjust the straps. I also like that they toe strap doesn't give me blisters and has a slight curve so it doesn't dig. They are a bit clunky, but that is fine for super casual and anyway, it kinda balances with my thighs, so it ends up being a good proportion as long as I'm not wearing a long skirt or something that needs a more dainty sandal. At least they aren't super geriatric-looking in my opinion. They sell footbeds - they should just make a version with more arch support for those of us with high arches and they wouldn't have to change the shoe style for those with lower arches (or better yet - make them more compatible with custom orthotics - no custom orthotic is going to be shaped like their footbed - especially the heel, and no factory footbed will have the correction I need under my MTP joint). Their footbed is shaped like an actual foot, and I find them true to size. Even though the footbed is removable, I don't find that they work great with custom orthotics, and I wish they did! And I'm unsure they have a shank or what is going on in there. But for a "comfort" sandal, these are better than most. And the oyster color is a soft white - not quite optic, but doesn't have that ugly tea-stained off-white color that I hate.

Disappointed - Toe post was too tall for me. It was almost like your toes and your instep/midfoot would have to be about the same height for these to fit right. I have high arches and voluminous feet and was so hoping for an open, easy, slide. Most "comfort" sandals look so geriatric and don't have much actual function if you are looking for the thing a podiatrist would approve. I mean, I don't even think geriatric people want to look geriatric. This looks not so bad. Regular Fit flops don't work for me, either - my feet aren't flat enough to get them on. I usually love a thong style, but this just didn't fit right. Seemed like it also might rub on the area just above the buckle near the arch. I did try the Cork vs a color that might be leather, so maybe leather would be softer? I was going for a light neutral. Strap placement/thong, etc, on the Orthaheel Tide fits me great, and I love that Orthaheel has some amount of arch support, but I need some semi-rigid sandals because of my arthritis in my MTP joint. While I love how my Orthaheels feel, they are so flexible that it can irritate my arthritis. I live in an urban area and walk everywhere vs using cars. And these have the 1 1/2" sole vs the 1 1/4". Wish Alegria in general had more arch support so those of us with high arches could have support there. Wish the straps on these were in a place that fit my foot!

These shoes are very comfortable! I have bone spurs on the backs of my heels, so wearing shoes with regular heel counters can be very painful, as I walk or run at least five miles a day. Can't use these to run in, but they work very well for walking, and give my feet a break from regular shoes.

Really cute shoe but made my foot look like a small boat...not like my Anhus. But would have kept them for the good arch support, except that my normal size, 8.5, was a hair too short for my toes on one foot but too long on the other foot. I tried a heel liner to correct that situation but then it was too short. Arghh. Going back to Ahnus.
