I was looking for something to keep my feet dry on my morning walks. These work great. Light weight, comfortable and easy to walk in.

I have finicky skinny feet, narrow heel, wide forefoot, and use orthotics for my pronating weak arches, so about 98% of all shoes made for women don't work on my feet. I ordered about 6 pairs of waterproof walking shoes to try out and this was the pair that I kept. Immediately wore them on a trip to Japan with tons of walking every day. Great boot! No break in time. Comfy from the get go with my orthotics, plus a pair of Spenco comfort insoles and Smartwool socks. Cute too! The color is great with my wardrobe. Some nitpicking: 1) the little D-rings that hold the laces tend to turn sideways or get torqued into funny positions. I can live with it. If you're not detail-oriented it shouldn't bother you at all. 2) The lighter citron color starts showing dirt pretty quickly, but since it's just an accent color it's not too bad. 3) These boots did loosen up/stretch out a bit, so I recommend starting with thinner socks and switching to thicker.

Much like another reviewer, I have a narrow heel, wide forefoot and wear orthotics. Ordered size 11, true to size. This is the most comfortable lightweight hiking boot I've ever owned. Get a lot of compliments on the look, too. I bought the indigo/citron and love the unique color. The little bit of citron trim does show dirt but it's not a big deal. The tiny D-rings do twist around; again, not that big of a deal.

Tried them at home: very comfortable, roomy toe box. Wore them outside and realized lack of posterior ankle cut-out caused shoe to hit back of ankle repeatedly and bruised my ankle.

So far I have only used this boot on 2 hikes, and while I want to love them, they don't seem like they're very durable. They are super comfortable, and soft around the ankles, but they seem a little big even with a thick sock. But the first hike I took them on, the stitching was already coming undone a bit, and it was a pretty average hike. Zappos was great though, and sent me a new pair with free shipping; that's what I call service. I will see how they hold up in the next few months, and with winter upon us, I'm anxious to see just how waterproof they are!

Love them! I hit the bull's eye with this selection. Fit well in heel and instep for good support, a little extra in toe box to accommodate for heavy socks. They have been tested in zero degree weather and snow. A+.

This was a nice boot and I wanted to keep it. It was so light! But the top of it dug into my ankle in the most painful way. Not for me.

Lightweight, with a roomy toe box. Comfortable right out of the box even for a longish hike and able to accommodate orthotics easily. I normally wear a 7 1/2 or 8 and bought an 8 in this boot--sizing is consistent across the three Ahnu shoes I've tried. If I were backpacking I'd want something sturdier, but for day hikes and walking on the beach, this is a good option.

I don't know why this brand is not well known: I have never put on a pair of boots that were so comfortable. They are very light but still have a lot of support - I walk 3-4 miles a day in them. Also, the color is sort of purplish-blue which make them different from everybody else's. I love them!

My husband, my dog, and I do a lot of winter walking--often in heavy snow--and these boots are perfect for me. I'm 65 and have osteoarthritis in my hips so I was looking for a light weight walking boot and one that looked attractive on my size 10.5 foot. I am thrilled with these boots.

Amazing fit, so comfortable and I agreed with the other reviews, I wear a size 8 -8.5 and ordered the 9, so glad I did. They are worth every penny and I love getting to wear them hiking. The color is quite bold, but I like that.

These boots are so comfortable and fit me like a glove. Even after hours of vigorous hiking/walking in the snow, they have such amazing arch support and are so lightweight that I forget that I have them on! Worth every penny, very stylish, I love them!

I am a shoe size 6.5, and I usually go to a 7 in boots, but I had to get this in a 7.5. I wore this boot around town on a very cold day, and I wasn't aware of my feet at all - a good thing. Kept me warm and confortable. A little rubbing on the back of my ankle, but I have short legs so there's not much ankle before it becomes calf, on me. Loosening the laces stopped that irritation. Haven't hiked in them yet, but hope to really break them in next weekend. Stylish, too!

I was looking for a pair of hiking boots for a winter trip to Iceland. Bought these based on the reviews of others with the same foot issues that I have, narrow heel, orthotics, etc. They were right, this is a great boot. Thanks reviewers! I have put a lot of miles on these, in snow, rain, mountains, and the city streets. They are very comfortable (nice snug fit, without being tight), and provide great stability (even on snowy mountains)!

The Montara Boot is lightweight and yet gives you all the support you need. The shoe feels comfortable right from the start and there was no need to "wear it in" first to feel truly comfortable. Great boot, I will take mine to Peru hiking. Highly recommend it to anyone.
