Somehow, the left shoe was wonky on my left foot such that I was nervous for my ankle. I did not have that problem with my old Altras. Photos (mirror image) for comparison. Tried arch support insoles, didn’t make a difference. FWIW, they felt super comfy and I wish they had worked.

Shoes felt fine while walking around at home, so I recycled the packaging, and set out later that week with these Topos for the usual errand & grocery run. I found that after walking for awhile, there was pointed pressure at the big toes and balls of my feet, which is really odd, because I tend to over-pronate! Since they can't be sent back at this point, I'll take these to the local resale shop, where hopefully they'll find a better home.

I have been wearing Topos for several years for mostly trail running and am a big fan of the Runventure line, tried the Magnify 3's and fell in love with those and must have gone through at least 5-6 pairs. So I was super excited when the 4's came out (but also hoping it wouldn't be for the worse, the curse of the "updated" shoe). I originally bought these when they first came out. Initially I really liked the roomy toe box as I do have wide duck feet from bunions, but the fit just felt a bit too long, despite being my usual size in the previous version, kind of like a clown shoe. I also felt that I couldn't quite pick up speed like I could in the 3's despite the lighter weight. Maybe it had something to do with the sizing or maybe the front rocker isn't the same as the 3's. Also the durability of this shoe is questionable despite the higher price. There was noticeable wear on the bottoms after only a few runs. I decided to give this shoe another try in a half size smaller and although the fit was perfect length wise they were far tooooo tight for me in the midfoot and especially being the warmer months with foot swelling this became a painful issue. I think it would have been nice if Topo would have used the same last from the 3's but made them a bit lighter but this feels like a whole different shoe to me, and not in a good way, sorry Topo. It is not the workhorse daily trainer for me the 3's were. On an added suggestion I think it would be awesome if more zero drop shoes were added to the lineup, and not the heavily cushioned kind, maybe something with a lower stack height without being too minimalist (besides the ST's).

These were suggested to me as I have a wide foot and was having difficulty finding a shoe to use for my hiit and weight lifting classes. These felt great in the toe box but unfortunately the mid foot is still to narrow for someone with a true wide foot. Had that not been the case I would've gladly kept them. Please make these in wide!

For people with wide feet, you really do need to order a half size larger in Topo, then they fit width-wise. Extreme pain in my left foot after 10 minutes! Shoe forced my left foot forward putting extreme pressure on the bottom left front. Tried relacing so my foot was further back in the shoe but that didn't help. Returned. Kept the instafly 3 and ordered another pair of instafly 3 instead. Shoelaces are still too short!

Awhile back, I purchased 2 pairs of Magnifly 3 - one to wear in the house and one for walking outdoors. These were the most comfortable athletic shoes I've ever worn! When the Magnifly 4 came out and my 3s were wearing down in the soles, I bought 2 pairs of the 4s. The Magnifly 4 have way too much space on the top of the toe box! I read another review that said they are like clown shoes in front, and I can relate. After wearing them for outdoor walks for several weeks and getting pains in my feet because the front of my feet were sliding around with so much extra room, I ended up giving them away. The other pair is okay for walking around the house, and my "house" Magnifly 3 pair have become my outdoor sneakers, but those will wear out one of these days, and I need another pair like the Magnify 3 as those have a roomy toe box without all that extra space on top. Please make the next Magnifly version like Magnify 3, not like Magnifly 4!

Returned after a few laps in my living room. the upturned toe box ruins what was a great shoe. i loved my Magnifly 1 and 2. Tried the 3 and it had the same design flaw. I had hoped the 4 was different but no.

Don't get me wrong, Magnifly 4s are my favorite shoes, but I only ordered them from here because my normal running store was out of my size. These arrived by Amazon prime in a box that was not a Topo shoe box so who knows if they are even the real thing. I will never order from this trashy company again, I've never received anything but the actual item in the past, going downhill like everyone else.

Need a better shoe for a wide straight foot. What should be secure or supportive through the heal and midfoot is restricting. Wearing to heal from injury.
I will continue to recommend topos to clients who have the right foot shape.

The footbed felt hard and stiff, and it felt like there were foot-shaped depressions in the footbed, but they did not match my foot shape. It was like a person with larger feet had worn the shoes and left their footprint indentions on the footbed. These lumps and depressions reactivated my Motion's neuroma. I returned the shoes.
