Comfortable, fits perfect, nice, good leather

I needed arch support to head off the beginning problems of plantar fasciitis. I had heard that Birkenstock shoes help with this. I bought these shoes, inserts, and slippers. Definitely helping!

I'm in love with these shoes. Sure, they're ugly, but if you need the big toe box, you need it. (Hey, Birkenstock, how about making these in blue suede? Women have big feet, too, and some of us would like a color other than black or brown.) Soooo comfortable, like the sandals, and I like the big clunky probably-last-foreve soles.

Shoe edges painfully hit the bottom of my ankle so it wasn't a matter of just breaking them in. The style was a bit too clunky - the bulbous toe box is just too much. I wish Birkenstock would make a slightly more stylish shoe.
