After buying the adult version for my husband, I got a pair of these for my snow loving (nearly) 5 year old son. He is thrilled to have boots like Daddy and I am thrilled they both have warm, dry feet! We spend a lot of time outside in winter, I guess it is time to get a pair for myself!

[UPDATE] Can use some improvement! I bought these for myself in a different colour (Big Kid size 6, normally wear 7.5 woman). I finally got to test these boots this winter 2021 in PNW when we actually had snow and sub-zero temp during the holidays. Two things: 1) The boots have no insoles, the felt-liners serve as both inner socks and insoles, which means there is no arch support, which also made it quite thin and could feel the frozen ground when walked outside, there's no way these boots can stay warm as it claimed "up to -40F/-40C" in its original post (when I first reviewed it in 10/2020). They do need some kind of insoles, eg: fleece-lined insoles for winter would be best. But keep in mind that the thickness of the extra insoles means sacrifice the space inside the boots around forefoot and midfoot which will make the boots feel too tight and even cramp, might have to go up a size. 2) The gusset tongues have no insulated lining of any kinds, whatsoever. Just a piece of thin nylon sewn in. IF you or your kid have skinny legs (around calf muscle & shin area) then maybe those felt-liners might just wrap around and cover the front of your lower legs (shin) completely and protect them from cold. Otherwise, it'll just be 2 pieces of thin nylon, might keep out snow, but not cold or draft, bec you/your kid will have big gap in front of your lower legs (shin) exposed to cold that the felt-liners won't wrap around all the way through completely. (see pictures). Nice winter boots though, but only suitable in mild and wet winter at this point. Right design and style with round-toe boots give more room in forefoot and midfoot, but definitely need some work in the areas mentioned.
I'd also recommend:

My 8 year old daughter picked these boots for winter. We have loved Boggs for many years but found in deep snow , snow was always getting in our boots. These boots solve the Problem!! The drawstring closure keeps them nice and tight which means No snow gets in! They are very warm and I love that I can take the insert out to wash. We will be definitely buy these again when we out grow them.

My 8 yo twin sons love these boots, this is their 2nd pair. Very easy for them to get on/off. I am slightly annoyed that the price is down $20 from what I paid a couple weeks ago.

These look like an excellent waterproof boot and I wanted them to work. They were cute and stylish but too stiff for my liking. Did not have a lot of movement in them I do not know how kids like them! For reference, I am purchased the 7 in big kids and I wear a 7.5 normally in women's. They fit great but there was just no support and just too stiff. Yes, they are a boot but that made them not as comfortable as others I have tried. Wished they would have worked they are a fun looking snow boot.

There is no insole to the boot, and impossible to tighten up the laces.
