Put 100 miles on this shoe and still feels fresh. Excellent race day choice. Using shoe for OKC Memorial Marathon.

Loved receiving the 1400v5. I had the past two previous versions and the latest revision is by far my favorite. The upper isn't as restrict and allows for just enough room in the toe box to wrap around your foot without being restrictive. Can't wait to race my Spring marathons in them.

I bought these about 2-3 weeks in advance of an upcoming half marathon in order to get sufficient break in time for my feet. I run approx. 35-40 miles per week and use these shoes on fast days and track workouts. They performed great during my half! I had no pains or issues develop in my feet knees or gait. I ended up running 2 minutes under my goal time with a 1:33 and the shoes definitely felt light under my feet. Cushioning midsole was more then sufficient and plenty of support for a neutral runner. I look forward to using these in upcoming 5k and 10k races.

I have purchased the NB 1400, 1500, as well as the 1600, and multiple pairs of each, and in every version that has been released. The 1400 and 1500 have improved in fitment and in design with each new revision. This being said, the 1400 V5 is one of the best shoes I have ever purchased.

These shoes felt great straight out of the box. Very light ... a nice change to my daily trainers. They do run about a half size small.

Put my first 10 miles on these, mix of pavement, gravel, dirt in really hot weather. Traction, cushioning, comfort & ventilation were excellent. Just ordered another pair.

V5 is a huge improvement over V4. My new go to racer. The new outsole design took away the hard Spike Plate like feel of the V5. It feels like a 1500v2 with a little more volume and a 10mm drop. The cushion is much more forgiving (but responsive), making this a great and surprisingly stable long distance racer. The tongue lays on the foot much better in this version, and the stiff crusty feeling V4 overlays and toe cap have been replaced with comfortable engineered mesh. A comfortable good looking racer that will attract compliments.

I have purchase this shoe as a running everyday Which I run about 3 miles a day. Fits truly to size arch and heel feels great so far good. I will update soon as of the wear and tear of this racing shoe.

I've run/raced in every generation of 1400s and this new v5 is hands down the best one yet. Love the seemless upper with no overlays, and the new outsole seems more durable than previous iterations. Both colorways are huge improvements over v4's weirdness too.

Great all around shoe but not a racing flat. Not a replacement for the superb 1400 v3 that was a true racing shoe. NB needs to develop a shoe between the new V5 and their most excellent Hanzo.

I am a female runner, but bought the men's version because the women's were so narrow. The felt a full size too small, and I had to return them as a very short test run on my treadmill hurt my knees and my heels felt like I was running in a zero-drop shoe. I loved that they are very curve-lasted like my feet, and the forefoot cushioning although thin feels just right - not too soft and not too firm.

I am usually a 9.5 in all my footwear; running, casual, dress, but these are smaller. I wear a 9.5 New Balance classic sneaker and they fit great, but for the 1400v5 I needed to order a half size up. They are very light weight and seem a bit more narrow than your standard medium width. I won't know about performance for a a few weeks but wanted to add my two cents on size.

A comfortable shoe. I was looking for a light weight flat for racing. Liked the ride but after only 5 miles, the tread on the toes is already wearing down.

This item was shipped in a reg generic brown shoe box, not a New Balance box, w/o labeling on it....the bottoms were filthy, from wear outside on a street etc and the inside where name is at heel was worn out, unreadable. Obviously worn to an extreme. The agent I chatted with was apologetic and offered a refund, and for me not to ship back, but to donate them. I will find a needy appreciative person for these. Just wanted you to be awaer, these should have not been returned, or at least never sent out again. Thank you

No width options? Weak. New Balance runs narrower than Nike or Adidas these days.
