I'd been riding flats in my trail runners and had some issues staying on the pedals so I finally decided to spring for the Five Ten's. Finally! A women's specific shoe that didn't have any pink or other vile accent color on it. Performance-wise these are awesome. The rubber is super sticky and my feet stay planted on the pedals. On the flip side, I was sure footed as a mountain goat while pushing my bike up steep slick rock (Moab). Comfortable shoe, great for long rides and they look great on or off the trail.

I really, really, really love these shoes. Last weekend, I wore them for a 10 mile bicycle ride, and then a 6 mile hike, and I felt like I was walking on clouds. Not to mention I get tons of compliments. Five Ten never disappoints.

Let me start by saying I have not had a pair of Five Tens before. This style appealed to me so I ordered my usual size 8. Too small and toe box was weird, so I reordered an 8.5. Seemed like the right length but the arch was in the wrong place and the toe box was still a bad fit. Exchanged for a 9. A 9! Too big. I also ordered a pair of the men's just to compare. A 7 in the men's was actually the best fit, even though I have a low volume high arch foot with a narrow heel. So a half size larger than running shoes seems to be the right size, but the fit is so poor I can't recommend them. The other thing about this particular style is that the ball of the foot is concave and smooth, so when on the pedal the sides would be in contact with the pedal but the ball would not. This is likely what was causing me discomfort in the toe box. I cannot see how this would work with flat pedals. I even took a pair outside and rested it on a pedal to see, and there was very little contact. You'd have to be pedaling with your arch to get good contact. I also ordred a pair of the canvas free riders, which I'm going to keep.

I usually go up a 1/2 size in running shoes, so I did with these also – they fit perfectly! (I'm a 9 in regular shoes, 9.5 in running shoes and these.) Love the heal support as I have a narrow heal and have issues before with my heals slipping and rubbing. Also love the grip these provide on my flat pedals. I'm just not one for clips, so these are a great alternative. They're a sturdy shoe and sure to stand up to the dirt and mud on the trails. They are a little stiff, but they should be.

Super cute and comfy. Worked great with flat pedal riding as I do t like to use clipless pedals when I mountain bike. Definitely recommend.

These shoes came highly recommended by my biking friends, and the brand lived up to its name...and expense. I felt way more connected to my pedals and bike on my last ride. That said, the fit was tricky to get right. I usually wear a size 9 shoe (down to 8.5 in sandals) but the toe box was especially narrow and my small toes hit the side. I went up to a 9.5 (a size I usually only go to for running) and resolved the problem. I was happy to find that the shoe was equally comfortable riding as it was walking around. Overall, get these babies for riding bliss but size up by at least a half size.

Get ready to ride! I purchased these shoes for a 10 day bikepacking ride that I am doing without clip in pedals. Paired with the beefy, pinned MTB pedals on my hybrid, these shoes are super grippy and provide a reliably firm, connected interface, even in wet conditions. And, no need to pack additional shoes for off the bike. Comfort, grip, and a strong last for pedaling gear into the back country.

True to size, but the toe box is a little on the short side. Great MTB shoes overall!

Show fit great. I'm usually between a 6.5 and a 7, and fit in a 6.5 in this shoe. The shoe was a bit wider than the Freerider Pro, and that made it more comfortable. The bottom of this shoe has more flex than the Pro's, which make it more comfortable to walk around in after riding, although the rigid bottom of the Pro may have advantages for riding. The sticky rubber on the bottom is GREAT. Combined with some good flat pedals, you can practically pull up on the pedal, and I'm not worried about my feet sliding off. Great solution for someone who doesn't want to commit to clipless pedals on their mountain bike.

I have a wide size 11 foot, and these shoes fit my foot perfectly. They were comfortable right away and they did not need any time to 'break in'. The only reason I did not give this shoe a full 5 stars overall is that the rubber on the sole is a little too soft, and it pits easily with my very aggressive flat pedals. Overall a really awesome shoe.

I have a wide forefoot and these are just too narrow for me. Also, I'll be carrying my bike up wet stairs and was concerned about the bare contact patch losing traction.

The shoe was nice looking and I really wanted it to work - but there is exposed stitching in the inside of the shoe all along the toe box. To top it of the shoe runs very short so my toes rubbed against the stitching. The stitching is so abrasive that it can be felt thru padded wool socks. I ordered size 10 - which is the size of my much loved 2016 Freerider canvas shoes. The Freerider contact are shorter.

I have tried these shoes several times. I tried them last year, and could not keep them. This year I tried again, thinking maybe I was imagining the weird fit. Nope, I can't do it. I wanted to be able to wear them since I ride my bike a lot and do many long distance rides, but I just can't. The fit just a little "off" and are not wide enough to work with my bunion. Also, the tongue comes up really high so it's uncomfortable because it digs into my ankle. I wanted to like them because I dread clipping in but sadly I am going to have to resort to clipping in since I can't find a platform shoe that works. Also, these are so "skater", can't anyone make a wide width woman's cycling shoe that doesn't look like they belong on a teenage boy?
