I bought two pairs of the Mephisto Sabatina shoes, (black velcalf and black patent), last summer (2016) , thinking I would return one of them. After wearing the velcalf (suede) Sabatina daily for two weeks of extended walking on a foreign trip, I was so happy with the fit and comfort, that I endedup keeping the second pair as well. I needed a shoe with good impact resistance for walking on cobblestones and other uneven hard surfaces, and the Sabatina definitely has that, as well as moderate cushioning inside. The insole is removable and can be easily replaced with a new one, (which I bought from Mephisto). The shoe is classy looking with jeans as well as with other tailored pants. So if you want comfort, good fit, and a classy style, I highly recommend the Sabatina.

I have a wider forefoot, narrower heel. These shoes felt narrower in front, but my heel slipped and the patent material made it difficult to tighten the laces. The soes feel more like plastic patent than leather and the material wrinkles; the entire side portion of one shoe was completely rippled. For this price, the shoes should be perfect. The basic style is great. This is a big disappointment.

I ordered these oxfords along with the ones from Paul Green. When they came, I loved them both and will probably keep both. These Mephisto ones were in the grey patent, dark and close to black but not as harsh. They are super comfortable right out of the box. I ordered a half size bigger than I normally wear and unlike other brands, even the Paul Green ones, I did not notice these to be tight across the mid toe area at all. The arch support in Mephisto is great, as is the softness inside these shoes. Heavenly! n I thought there was a little more style to the Paul Green ones, but these are great and I would not choose to keep both unless I really love them. I do.

I love Mephisto - they are the only shoe my husband can wear, and they are usually my go-to brand...expensive, but worth it. This shoe is handsome, but the sizing is off. I have always been a reliable 37, this 37 is too big. I am hoping the 36 works as they are very cute!

Mainly wear ballet type flats but I fell in love with these. They are so much more stylish than sneakers when I need more support.

I forgot to mention in my other review that like another reviewer mentioned, there is slight wrinkling of the patent leather in various places on the shoe. This does not overly bother me. I plan to wear them around the house a bit to see if this gets more pronounced before I definitely decide to keep. I do love them!

These are fabulous shoes! I had ankle replacement surgery and no shoes including running shoes felt both comfortable and supportive until I got these. Great fit and comfort right out if the box. Look great, too!

Love them! Dr requested I wear a supportive oxford after I was “out” of the cam boot for a Jones Fracture of the 5th metatarsal. . this shoe is perfect & stylish as well. Receive many compliments on the Sabatina.. bought the gold. My foot is rather wide so I order a half size larger (6.5) and it’s perfect.

Bought the Lace up Mephisto Sabatina in women’s 6.5. I probably could have worn a 6 but my foot is rather wide. I purchase because of a Jones fracture healing on the left foot. Surgeon recommended wearing a substantial supporting Oxford. These fit the bill, I can wear them all day and walk anywhere I need to walk, and they are just as comfortable as when I put them on. I’m stylish to be in my late 60s, but thought this one maybe two youthful, but I get many many compliments each time I wear them.

No seams over the bunion area -- yay!!!!!! Maybe the arch support is indeed better than moderate. Not my problem area.

I LOVE these shoes! My feet are wide and sensitive. These shoes fit are the best. I am buying another pair and well worth the price.

A most stylish and oh, so comfortable shoe. Right out of the box, I wore it for hours.

One of the very few shoes that are both comfortable and look nice. Obviously not for a dress, but look cute with a pantsuit. All 3 colors are beautiful - I know - I have them all.

I loved these shoes - very comfortable but why didn't someone mention that they are sparkly? Why they aren't available in plain black nubuck or suede is beyond me.

These shoes are more narrow than indicated. The styling is great, so if you have a narrower foot than the standard M width, go for it.

This shoe runs narrow and long and is stiff.... back to Zappos they go.

I wanted to love these shoes, but they did not work for me. The sole is excellent, and I will keep looking for a pair of Oxfords with a sole like this because it does help the knees, back etc. But these shoes had little arch support for me, and the pressure of the strings was all on the highest part of my foot instead of being more evenly distributed across of the top of my foot towards my toes. The result of no arch support plus the string position was uncomfortable, especially since I need to tighten the strings more due to the lack of arch support. The toe box is also somewhat small, not so much because the shoe narrows toward the front, but because the top is too low, so it presses down on the big toe. Designing the shoe to give more space above the toes would be very helpful, as some Italian shoemakers do. Beyond comfort issues, I found the style somewhat plain and not especially attractive for women.
