I love these hats but you should strongly consider making the adult size S/M a flat out Medium and makeing the youth large witch starts at 6 inches and ends at 6 7/8 a small. I'm infuriated by the laziness of this. I and many others with small heads would like to have more to choose from like the adult selections. This is flat out discrimination against those of us with smaller skulls. We like hat's too. Like I ssid in my previous review, if they would have had the PHG in youth sizes and frankly all the different colors and designs, I would have spent $1,000 on hat's the day I purchased 12 hats because there are only 7 youth colors and I wasn't really feeling the electric pink , but I got two of each. These are really great hats, I love them and I wish Columbia would take a look in either making more styles in youth hats or get rid of the S/M size and make it a Medium and the large youth hat a Small. Because every man with a tiny peahead such as my self are very tired of being discriminated against. I like Columbia clothes/gear. It's mostly what I wear and I almost got rid of all my Columbia stuff, all the pants, shirts, fleeces and coats but the youth hats saved the day.

My son was broken hearted when he lost his blue hat in Alaska. I was so happy to find the red one on-line so we ordered two just in case we lost another one! It has just enough stretch to make a perfect fit and the mesh back keeps him cool while the visor protects his face from the sun. I hope Columbia will continue to make this hat... I would love to see it in green!

It's great if you have a large head. Kid hats should not be able to fit an adult. Need to be smaller.
