These Pro Helix Timberlands are as comfortable as my NB MT841's (sneakers) and clean up with a warm damp rag. The insert has a decent arch, which helps with the comfort, in my opinion. The Pro Helix initially appears less rugged in appearance, but is wearing in gradually. They appear a bit narrow, but they don't feel like that. They have good grip and just enough heal for ladder duty, etc. They do not breathe as well as some of the other Timberlands I bought. I would recommend these boots. I've been using Zappos for 6 years now, faithfully, because of their consistent commitment to customer service. Every order (8 pairs of work boots) has been shipped expeditiously, and all three of my returns/swaps were simply effortless.

Very disappointed with this boot. I have owned and loved many other Timberland boots and shoes and they all have a very crisp, form fitting feel. These boots, on the other hand, fit very very sloppy. There seems to be way too much leather around the top and sides and it is impossible to lace them up snugly. I returned them after I could not wear them without my feet sliding around inside them. This style and fit is very uncharacteristic of what I have come to expect from every pair of Timberlands.

I wore these for two summers on construction sites every day. They held up great. I damaged the leather pretty bad when a large rock hit the steel toe, but besides that everything looks new when it gets cleaned up and oiled. I can't vouch for the waterproof tech, because I never needed to put it to the test. The laces are solid quality, and I was pretty hard on them. I like to keep them very tight for maximum ankle support (helps when walking on large lifts of large rocks). I've had numerous times that I would've twisted my ankle pretty bad if not for the excellent ankle support. They are not super light weight, but not heavy either. They're comfortable for about 9 or 10 hours, after which my dogs will start barkin'. The most amazing part is how little they have worn down. the soles are as good as new, even after hundreds of miles. The leather comes back to life after a wash and oiling. The insoles have not fallen apart in the slightest. I estimate I could get at least 5 more seasons out of these.

After ten months in my 15W Helix boots, I find them tough and comfortable. I bought them for use with chainsaws, brush cutters and mowers in south Florida heat. Though made for (and best on) a jobsite, mine carry my 6'4, 225 pounds and 15-pound daypack of gear and water on at least one of two weekly hikes of 8 miles. We're on flat but uneven and abrasive limestone trails and canal levees, and up & down steep 20' tall berms of very coarse dredge spoil (loose rock & boulders). The leather is scarred but intact. The soles wear like iron & should outlast anything and glued on sole remains tightly bonded. The anti-fatigue features help with my metatarsalgia and high arches. I am not sure how waterproof they are, I've avoided testing it too much. Downsides? They weigh ton, a trade off I'm often willing to make, but even with my size, it factors into when and where I wear them. The comparatively rigid soles give little tactile feedback about what's underfoot. The non-slip soles lack aggressive lugs (but I seldom need that) and these don't trap & carry too much dirt inside when I work around the house & yard. Despite my high instep and wide forefoot, my 15W Helix boots seem a little loose over the forefoot. You can spend much, much less on work boots, but I haven't found any that beat the Helix at its game. Whether on concrete floors, around the house/yard, or in mostly level outdoors, I am very satisfied with the Helix.

Brands I'd also recommend: Only Timberland & Timberland Pro do my 15Ws right.

Having come to love Timberland Boots, I was thoroughly disappointed with the Helix. On the fifth day of use I was working around guardrails and the boots became wet. As the day progressed the boots fit became increasingly sloppy. No matter how tight I cinched them up, they continued to expand causing my feet to "wallow," and my ankles to be unsupported. I would not recommend the Helix to anyone who works around water or on uneven surfaces.
