Zappos & Sorel Give One Mom Her Dream Day Off

Zappos & Sorel Give One Mom Her Dream Day Off

(plus time-saving tips for anybody on the go)

We’re all busy, right? Over-scheduled, always on the go, juggling everything. So we were thrilled to team up with Sorel Footwear on a very special giveaway: For one day we'd take over the To Do list of an overachiever who needed a hand—and a break—giving them a full day of support and pampering.

We're so happy to introduce you to our winner—an unstoppable working mom—and give you a peek into what happens when Zappos comes to town. Check out the video above for all the fun, and shop the looks below.

Meet Amanda

She's a busy gal—day job: therapist, all-the-time-job: mama—who lives in Chicago with her husband, Scribner; son, Ayres; pooch, Charlotte; and a bunch of backyard chickens.

Meet Scribner & Ayres

A.k.a. hubs and kiddo, the pair who teamed up to nominate Amanda to win a day off. Scribner has a back pocket full of dad jokes and considers moving away from Chicago every winter but loves it too much to actually follow through, and Ayres is a pre-schooler with a penchant for dinosaurs and dance.

Meet Chani & Morgan

Like Rosie the Riveter meets some fierce Fairy Godmother, these rad chicks are two of Zappos' Vegas-based customer-service reps and they swept into Chicago ready to lend a helping hand to Amanda.

The Day Off

Clad in new cozy loungewear and soft-as-a-cloud Sorels, Amanda split the day between spa time and "me" time, while Chani and Morgan handled her To Do list crossing off everything from dropping off her dry cleaning to vacuuming her car to walking the dog.

5 Time-Saving Tips for Anybody on the Go

1. Shave time off your morning routine by having a go-to "uniform." Not pleated skirts and knee socks, but variations on a favorite outfit—e.g. booties, dark jeans, slouchy sweater—that makes you look and feel good.

2. An insulated travel cup = hot coffee for hours!

3. Work the multi-task. Take calls during your morning commute or tackle “easy” to dos—making appointments, checking email—while doing tasks that require little brain power like stirring soup.

4. For fast & healthy grocery runs, only shop the store perimeter (where all the fresh stuff is!).

5. Easily cut down on clutter by donating unwanted items for free via Zappos for Good.
