5 Fashion Podcasts That Will Make You Smart And Stylish

It should come as no surprise that there are some pretty epic podcasts out there.

And those that discuss fashion are no exception.

Whether you’re a casual consumer or a total shopaholic, these podcasts are sure to entertain anyone with interest in clothing, accessories and footwear.

A couple of the podcasts we’ll tell you about below are fun passion projects that are updated sporadically; others are uploaded weekly without fail. The thing they have in common is that they’re so captivating you won’t want to turn them off.

We’ve included big hits as well as more obscure sources of insight on trends, design and the fashion industry in general. It’s fun to mix it up, and there are tons of lesser-known but absolutely fantastic podcasts out there.

So, if you’re looking for a new podcast to listen on your work commute, at the gym or while you’re cooking dinner, here are five fashion podcasts worth giving a try.

Fashion No Filter

This compelling podcast is run by fashion journalists Camille Charriere and Monica Ainley. Some topics include the endless creative director switches in the luxury clothing industry, how fashion is the second most polluting industry in the world, and how e-commerce website Net-A-Porter has become a leading clothing and footwear editorial publication. "Fashion No Filter" doesn’t seem to have a clear content calendar –– in fact, they’ve gone months at a time without posting new episodes. However, when they do post, it is quality content.

Unravel: Fashion Podcast

Established in 2015, "Unravel: Fashion Podcast" is a unique podcast that melds fashion with history. Feature film, costuming, textiles and design, and New York Fashion Week over the ages are just a few of the topics covered in various episodes of “Unravel.” This is an excellent podcast for chic history buffs, and the fact that fashion scholar Jasmine Helm and textile conservator Dana Goodin frequently release new episodes is a huge perk. “Unravel” typically releases multiple episodes per month, so you can regularly enjoy this fun and informative podcast.

Fashion Hags

"Fashion Hags” is a podcast born from the minds of a trio of fashion fiends named Abby, Evan and Katie. If you love podcasts that have hilarious and relatable hosts, you’re likely to enjoy “Fashion Hags.” Abby, Evan and Katie frequently discuss clothing and footwear trends, the ins and outs of fashion design, and broader societal analyses. Not only will you be entertained, but you’ll learn a thing or two in the process.

Writers Kate Spencer and Doree Shafrir are the masterminds behind "Forever35," a podcast focused not just on fashion but cultural style trends in general. In recent months, they’ve covered trends ranging from the mass hysteria surrounding Marie Kondo’s “Tidying Up” to the moderately creepy trend of posting yourself wearing a Hanacure mask on Instagram. If it sounds interesting, it is! “Forever35” is a solid choice if you love all things fashion, beauty and lifestyle.

Pop Fashion

There’s nothing like an interactive podcast to build a connection between listeners and content creators. Such is the case with “Pop Fashion.” Stylist Kaarin Vembar and former vintage store owner Lisa Rowan team up for this podcast, which covers a spread of topics from the demise of multi-level marketing companies all the way to some of high fashion’s biggest scandals in years past. To top everything off, they answer readers’ questions and weave them into their podcast content.

Although there are many more fashion podcasts available for you to peruse and enjoy, these are our favorites. No matter if you like a podcast that’s simple and informative or one that’s lighthearted and sassy—you’re sure to love one of our top five.

But listener beware: these excellent options may inspire you to update and upgrade your wardrobe. Let’s be honest: talking shop about fashion is fun, but shopping yourself is even better!
