Zappos Builds Largest Solar Array In Downtown Las Vegas

Here comes the sun!

This past summer, Zappos built the largest solar rooftop in downtown Las Vegas. A total of 830 panels now covers most of our headquarters' roof and will provide us with 264 kW of clean energy — that’s enough to supply more than 40 homes a year! Rest assured, Zappos' headquarters will use every last bit of that energy to power our campus operations.

This isn't the first time Zappos has installed solar panels. In fact, in 2014 Zappos introduced solar panels for the very first time in company history. With more than 300 days of sunshine per year, Las Vegas is the perfect location for solar power.

Zappos is joining the ranks of major Las Vegas organizations that use solar energy, including Las Vegas Sands, City of Las Vegas, MGM Resorts International and many others. With significant efforts like these, Las Vegas is poised to become a more sustainable community!
