Employees Dine In Darkness For The Blind Center Of Nevada

Being visually impaired forces people to adjust their day-to-day tasks. What may seem like a simple undertaking to some, people who are blind may have to adapt and react differently. To gain perspective and respect for the blind community, Zappos’ Dine in the Dark experience consisted of a three-course dinner to be eaten in pitch darkness.

This event was meant to show support for the blind community as well as find a way to incorporate employee participation. With limited vision, eating was proving to be difficult for most people. There was a fun factor element added in as well, but this demonstration further showcased the difficulties blind people encounter every moment of their life.

Proceeds from the ticket purchases went to the Blind Center of Nevada.
