Surfing Poipu Beach - Kauai, Hawaii

With consistent southern swell action, Poipu Beach is one of the more reliable surf destinations on the island of Kauai. First time surfers can enjoy warm temps and rideable waves, even in the “off”season, thanks to the frequent summer swells. Remember, the sun is super strong in Hawaii, so an arsenal of sunscreen (reef-friendly of course) and UPF clothing will ensure you can be outside as much as possible without burning. Lastly, Hawaii is known for its lush tropical weather, including frequent rain, so be prepared to go with the flow and get used to being wet above the water line.
