Zoot Sports Reviews
Great looking & the coloring looks great with any workout outfit! They are far more comfortable than the average athletic shoe (comparable the Saucony brand). I would say that they are not quite as comfortable as other Zoot shoes I have though (Ultra Kalani or the Ultra Kalani 2.0).
Don't listen to the other reviewers. Yes the heel tab is high. Immediately when you get the shoes, fold the heel tab down. It will stay in position and will not pop back up. You can then wear the shoe sockless (as it's intended). I've worn this shoe for 2 half-ironmans, and it's been an absolute dream. The longest I've run in these was 16M. Anything over a 13M I may look to a beefier shoe, but I've found these shoes to be absolutely perfect up to 13M, both for racing and training. Enjoy them!

I bought two (also The North Face of this type), and this one had no stretching at all. I could barely get it on. And it's quite thin, not as soft as The North Face one. Not recommended for slightly bigger heads.
I wore this during the Chicago marathon recently. I had an older pair/model that I used in the Houston marathon in January. I was satisfied with both their performances. They are light but still durable.
As mentioned previously, I love the way the shoe fits and feels; however, when I am sockless (which is the reason I bought them for tri's) my heel lacerates and bleeds unless protected. If I want to wear these shoes, I must wear socks. That so defeats the purpose of the shoes. Don't buy these if you want to run barefoot in them.
Bought this for my first triathlon and wore it to my second. Feels great and fits extremely well. The only thing that bugged me is that the zipper came undone both times, right before my race. The first time, I was able to fix it on my own a few minutes before the race started. The second time I couldn't get it to catch on. Aside from the zipper issue, the suit is great. Perhaps it's because of my wider hips that it stretches a bit farther when I pull it on/off. Just a heads up!
These are the best shoes. I use them for the gym and not for running, they have tons of lateral support, great cushioning. They actually last longer than my New Balance. They are made to wear without socks which I also love. I also have wide feet and they accommodate my foot just perfect, this is my third pair The only problem with Zoot is you need to air them out and wash them fairly often because of the no sock issue, but they wash beautifully!
These are the best athletic shoes ever! I read the reviews and comments and everything was right on - they are very comfortable, no socks needed, fit my feet. Need to move up 1/2 size larger than normal. I had to size up 1/2 size from my normal athletic size of 7-1/2 to 8 and they are perfect. I read that in previous reviews and it is true - great find! I walk in them, kick box and work out in the gym. Great for everything!
This is my second pair of Zoot Ultras. They are definitely half a size smaller than my others of the same size. While I am sticking with Zoot for comfort and lack of tongue/laces I am really bummed that I paid so much for shoes that I cannot really run in. I did not notice the difference until I went for a run.
The shoe is fantastic. great snug fit. light, but stable and surprisingly full of cushion. Just completed 1/2 marathon in them after training a few hundred miles and they performed very well.
Felt great on my foot until I ran in it sockless. The high back of it combined with the seams on the upper portion of the heel part of the shoe cut open a flap of skin at by my Achilles. My previous Zoot shoes did not rub there as much and were seamless, so they did not cause an issue. Because this part of the shoe is of use only for an instant (to pull it on), it would be great if it got out of the way in some way once the shoe was on. I was really disappointed because I love how the shoes feel and look.
Pretty disappointed with these shoes. My first run with these was a 6 mile run and boy was it brutal. These shoes caused my Achilles tendon to bleed, which is something I've never had a problem with. The heel loop feels a little flimsy and doesn't naturally stay open, making it hard to use in a race in transition. These aren't as neutral as I would've liked, they have a decent amount of heel and support; definitely not racing flats. Finally, and this is probably my own fault, I thought all Zoot tri shoes would come with bungee laces, these did not, so I was a little upset that I had to go buy some.Overall, they've gotten better after a few runs in them but I wouldn't buy them again.
The Ultra Race 3.0 is a light weight high performance shoe that the average weekend warrior would enjoy. I have about 60 miles on Ultra Race 3.0 and it still feels just like it's out of the box.
Super light shoe. Very comfortable with the exception of almost zero arch support. Otherwise, extremely happy with purchase.
It looks nice and certainly draws attention. However, they are not as snug fitting as the older version, which was my favorite. My old one, Zoot Ultra TT 2.0, was half size smaller than this. It was my favorite, but shrunk after running in the rain. So I got this one half size bigger. I don't feel it was bigger inside, just wider and has a bigger outsole. This one is made with the same material. So make sure you buy a larger size. Maybe because it is new, it rubs on my heel and gave me a blister after first run. The TT 2.0 never did this to me.
Love this shoe! So light and comfortable. I have one run up to one hour in them. My only complaint is the height of the shoe at the back of the heel...totally rubbed me raw! I wore them sockless and they were great except I wish the shoe was shorter in the back for this reason. I need to develop a callus because they are great in all other aspects!
Totally loving my Zoots! Easy in and out, dry well, and durable so far and true to size. Recommend to anyone wanting a good transition shoe as well.
I got to try this out in my first race this season. It made race life much easier since the chance of a wardrobe malfunction decreased. A one piece race suit is definitely the way to go. I did wear a separate sports bra underneath and it worked great. No problems during the swim, the bike, or the run. Looking forward to future races with my Zoot suit!
