These shoes are great, I am wearing them at work as I type this. They take a couple of wears to break in, but once they are broken in they feel and look great. Gotten many compliments on this stylish yet practical set of shoes.

Great looking shoes! These are for my twelve year old son, who loves the very adult look and the great fit. It is hard to find stylish, good quality shoes for pre-teens in our area, and Zappos has always been a great source for shoes for both my sons.

Quality shoe for good price. I got these for my husband whose feet terrorize shoes (wide foot). He loves how comfortable they are and couldn't believe the quality of the shoe for the price. He's not a big fan of dress shoes so he really loves that the bottom isn't "slippery". They do have a strong leather smell, but somehow the leather protector made the smell go away.

These shoes are awesome for going out in. Great with dark jeans or casual slacks. They break in very quickly and are super comfortable. Zappos shipping service can't be beat!

These are some easy fitting and comfortable. They have a great shine to them and don't need much cleaning to stay that way. After a few uses it will have the 'bent look' near the toe but it's not bad at all.

The shoe is pretty overall. I gave it 4 stars for comfort because the first time I wore them they felt comfortable, but they hurt around the ankles because the leather is pretty stiff, but I assume they will get broken in with time. I give it 4 stars for style because they look good, but they crease on the toe really quickly. I did greatly appreciate the speed of delivery. I ordered it Sunday night and got them Tuesday afternoon, which was just in time for my meeting on Wednesday. They look good overall, especially for the price, so I would recommend them. I got compliments the first time I wore them, so that's always a plus. Hope this helps.

I would've rated these higher, but for the intense gasoline smell that these come with (seems to be common with this brand); it dissipates, but it takes time so plan ahead: air these things out for at least a week or two before evening thinking of wearing them in an enclosed space around anyone (or possibly going near anyone who smokes!? No idea if they're actually flammable but they sure smell like they'd go up in a hurry). Otherwise, a great looking shoe, pretty comfortable for this style and they didn't take very long to break in. Found mine to be .5 size too big so I sent back and ordered the next half size down; Zappos as usual was incredibly fast with the shipping on both orders and the return couldn't be easier. Thanks!

As previous reviews have stated, these shoes had a terribly strong chemical smell when they first arrived. It smelled very similar to gasoline. Not something you want your shoes to smell like. However, after a couple of days of airing out, the smell was completely gone. The shoe design is very nice. I have received numerous compliments on them in my office. I would buy them again. The one thing that did concern me was that the leather across the heel was so hard that it cut into me (literally) the first time I wore them. I had to manually manipulate and stretch the opening before I could wear them. After that, they have been great.

I bought these shoes because they were one of the few square toe black dress shoes out there. I have wide feet (E\'s) and these were very confortable. After you smell wore off, and that took some time, the shows did not last more than 6 months. I wear dress shoes 6 days a week, and these shoes were put through a serious workout. If you intend to wear these only a couple times a week, your milage may be longer. My pair began to split in multiple places where the leather was stitched together. After trying to repair with some super adhesives, the leather began to go next.\r\n\r\nNot a bad shoe, but the price reflects the longevity. My $80 Kenneth Cole\'s have gone the distance.

Smelly! Ordered these to wear with a new suit, but right out of the box and their fancy cloth bag, they reek!, like another reviewer said (I thought it may have been a fluke, but it's not). The style, look, etc. is great. The price is great, too, but the smell is overpowering. You're better off buying a pair that's a couple bucks more (Giorgio Brutini has a great shoe that looks identical) to save yourself the embarrassment because it's that noticeable! Pee-you! they went back.

Great looking shoe! Surprisingly comfortable too! Only thing is it has a strong "tar" odor, that diminishes a little though as time goes by. Still worth buying!

The only reason I rate 3 stars in comfort is because they are patent leathers. I hate patent leathers but needed them for a performance.

Great shoes. Comfortable, I bought these 1/2 a size larger than I wear my sneakers and they fit perfectly. Am I the only one that doesn't care what shoes smell like? Leave them out to "air" for a day or two and the leathery smell fades away.

I really like these shoes. Very reasonably priced. Fit well. Not the most comfortable shoe. There's no cushion in the sole- so it's like walking around on hard leather.

I needed a new pair of dress shoes so figured, what the heck. I'm glad I did. These shoes are fantastic and look much more expensive than what I paid. They're pretty comfortable but unfortunately I sometimes have a 2-hour drive to work some days in a manual transmission car and the left shoe dug into my ankle from all that clutch action in bumper to bumper traffic. But I think any new shoe would have done that. Otherwise, excellent value and I'll be a Zappos customer for life.

Good shoe at a great price - Like most dress shoes, there is a break-in period for these. I've only worn them twice and my feet were sore after each wear. I have these shoes in black and I've head them for several years now. They are the same size as the new brown pair and the older pair are actually kind of big now. I'm sure the new pair will stretch over time and be as comfortable as the others. These are great looking shoes... I've received many compliments. Beware of the strong scent you will smell at first. It does wear off however.

I really love the classic style of these shoes; however, after having four different styles for over six months and trying every technique I could think of, I could not eliminate the heavy gasoline odor. The odor was so bad that people sitting next to me in conferences would comment on the smell. I have gone in several different shoes stores and I always check the smell of the ZENGARA shoes before I purchase them and I am sorry to say that they all have the same heavy odor of gasoline. I caution you to stay away from this brand until the manufacture addresses the odor issues.

Overpriced, under impressed - This shoes smells terrible! Shoe is very uncomfortable. Almost like walking barefoot on concrete. Leather looks like its plastic. Do yourself a favor, and go with a different shoe.
