These knives are razor sharp. I didn't know slicing could be this effortless. The blades do the work for me. I really enjoy the lightweight feel and texture of the handles. The seem more hygienic then steel rivets being exposed. They are gorgeous. The price was a lot for mr, but upon using them the first time I have zero regrets. Try them!

I am a chef at a Fine Dining restaurant. I use this knife every day, even at home. The quality, balance, and cutting ease is by far the best I have ever felt. Other cooks in my kitchen have used it, and they all end up buying one eventually. I have 3 of them - 8, 9, and 10 inch. I will have these for life, and I will give them to someone deserving when I retire.

I have used many different brands of knives over the past 30 years of cooking, and I have to say that Wusthof is one of the better ones. I own this knife, an 8" and a 6" chef's knife, as well as many others and these are nicely weighted (perhaps a little heavy for smaller hands) and solidly constructed knives. They hold an edge well, are easy to hone and sharpen, show no signs of rust or oxidation after 20 years and none of them have lost their tips, something I find in cheaper knives. A good chef's knife, a bread knife and a couple of paring knives are the least you should have to work with in the kitchen. No need for extensive sets with knives you will never use, but the more you do, the more you might find some different sizes and shapes might work better for you in certain situations. One thing to note: travel to a local store that carries Wusthof and a couple of other brands. Hold them. Get a feel for the blade, the heft, the weight. Find a blade or three you can comfortably hold and use for an extended time. Quality is important, but so is a knife you can comfortably use. Without going into a ton of detail on various steels and German versus Japanese construction, let me say I am hard on knives. I use them every day. I drop them, I cut bones, I chop against stainless steel, I open coconuts, I abuse them. I find German knives hold up better to my brutish kitchen methods than the harder/more brittle Japanese blades.
Bought this as a gift for my son at Christmas. He was very happy with the quality and craftsmanship. Has more pockets than what you can really see, not to mention a place to put your personal information in case of loss.

This is simply a great set of knives for a great price. They're sharp, comfortable, balanced, and of course easy to clean and store. I bought these for my mom for Christmas and she literally gets excited when she needs to chop up veggies and the like with her new Chef's knife. Who's an awesome son? Me. Boom.

Awesome knife, replaced a generic paring knife and is a world of difference. Recently bought 4 more Wusthof Ikon knives!
This paring knife has become a prized kitchen possession. It is great balance and feel in a small package. Even though my hands could cover an entire dinner plate, the small knife works wonders in my hands. It is so sharp, I thought it would say Gillette on the package somewhere, but it did not. It is all classic engineering and steelwork. It is a piece of art. It is an excellent paring knife.
Awesome knife set! My boyfriend is in the seafood business and absolutely adores these knives. The kitchen shears are amazing as well. Definitely a great product with a great price!

Fabulous knives. Cut through just about everything with ease. Don't know how we lived without these for so long! They are sturdy, but not heavy and they seem well balanced in your hand. I highly recommend these to anyone looking for a fine steak knife set.

This is a beautiful knife, and extremely sharp. he Grand Prix II series has a perfect hand shape for sturdy sizing. The blade has a little weight to it is well. The only other Wusthof series I have tried is 'gourmet'. It is a cheaper series, and I don't believe worth the cheaper cost. I have yet to try the 'classic' series though. More expensive than the Grand Prix though. I don't think I would be any more happier with any other series like the Grand Prix, who's price range falls in he middle, especially 'onn sale', than the other two series I have mentioned above. Note: I have both the Santoku style and regular style of Grand Prix II, and love them. Still continuing to collect them as well. Also, The staff at Zappos are extremely courteous, and helpful. They make me smile if I ever need to talk to them, They stand behind ALL their merchandise. I will always shop here?
Excellent quality knives, the best in the world. Have owned them since I lived down the road from their factory in Germany. This set was purchased for nephew's wedding.

Very pleased with the performance. Nice weight. Wanted something for slicing tomatoes and this works great.
This knife is excellent. The balance is great. I have small hands and the handle feels good. Fileting smaller fish like Tilapia is super easy. I have not used it to cut meats (it is a utility knife). I must be careful to use the proper knife grip and leading fingers to avoid chopping off digits. Overall, it is a great knife. I would like to add more to my collection.

I have waited years before I found the Wusthop knives. To me they are the top of the line. Their always sharp and comfortable in the hand to use. Give these knives a try and you will never use any other.

Used it only for a month: so far very good. Well balanced, fairly sharp. Enjoying using them. Cutting time for meat reduced in half. My wife also like it. One drawback: Cutters are for a large hand. My wife had a small one and she hardly can open it to get flower or else in the holding notch.
Wusthof block is made of a rich, brown stained walnut. Great quality. Looks great and was perfect gift idea. I wish now that I could replace my own Wusthof block. I am new to Zappos - and love it! One of my gifts had to be returned due to size - was such an easy process.
After reading reviews on other brands, and styles within Wusthof, I sent this set to a friend as a gift. She has never owned good quality cutlery before, and she couldn't be happier. I also ordered the steak knife set for her, and those she cannot stop talking about! I am very pleased with the classic set. Based on what others have said, it is better to invest a little more even within the Wusthof line.

Wonderful paring knife. I own other Wusthof Classics knives. The best! I ordered this product online at this time last night. It was on my front step today. Can not order from any kitchen retailer or specialty store and get the item that quick. Free shipping! Doesn't get better than Zappos! Thank you! Love you always!
