I bought these for two main reasons: They look badass and they meet all sorts of fancy-pants, Mil-Spec, government standards. Well, if they're wearing these, I've got another reason to keep our brave troops in my prayers. Within three months, the rubber cladding on the temples and side pieces shredded and tore off. Leaving me with some nice, hard, plastic pointy bits behind my ears. Thanks, Wiley. Then there's the cool, foam seal that protects you from dust, sand, wind, mustard gas and God knows what all. That tore away from the mounting even sooner. Thanks, again. At least breaking that facial seal solved the chronic fogging! The lenses, which are all kinds of cool colors (and you can swap em! So they're like mood rings!) are a pain to change. Keep in mind, I'm not talking about combat failure. I'm a civvie, a rather sedentary one and these glasses were done in by riding the Chicago Green Line Train. This is a shame, since they look so, so awesome. I wish they were better. It's entirely possible I got the one bum pair and that my experience ain't the norm. But I ain't about to chance 90 scoots on another pair to find out. Caveat emptor!

Love 'em. Great pair of glasses overall. Cool looking, durable, great lens clarity, and lightweight. For 15 years all I have only owned Oakleys, but I have been converted. The foam insert really adds protection from debris. Some downsides, though: I found the interchangeability of lenses to be a bit too clumsy in the field. The lenses will get finger and hand prints on them during the swap and the frames aren't too happy about the procedure either. Recommend putting the lenses in and then leaving them. If you are working in any temperature above 60 degrees and don't have a brisk crosswind, the lenses will not only fog--they will get wet. They do clear easily, but in some circumstances freeing up a hand and pausing for such a task is out of the question. Can be solved by not using the insert. If you will need to use all the bells and whistles I would recommend buying two pair--one tinted, one clear--it would still be cheaper than most Oakleys.

Exactly what I expected, shipped very quickly. Could not ask for anything more. Can fog up in heat and humidity, but it's easy to clear and clean. The fact that I can wear my contacts and my eyes never dry out is well worth it!

Review for Wiley Z87 XL-1 - My pair of sunglasses came with 3 sets of lenses. For night riding, you can pop in the clear lenses. These glasses are designed for riding or for windy conditions. They minimize the chance of dust particles getting into your eyes. The glasses fit very securely but there is an adj. elastic strap for added security. If you want a rugged pair of glasses to wear on your motorcycle or scooter which are less cumbersome than goggles but just as functional, check out this design from Wiley.

Hello, I am in the military and have extensive service in other countries. Several years ago, my unit was issued Wiley-X ballistic sun-glasses. We use them for our job, and believe me, work is good and busy… Our glasses keep our eyes dry, and they keep the windy sand (gee, maybe you know where we are stationed...) out of our eyes. Very important in the work we do. These are the best glasses I have worn in a long time. They might actually save my life someday. I like them so much, I picked up a pair while on leave.
