This is the most comfortable hiking boot I\'ve ever worn, and I have owned at least 20 pairs of hiking boots. It feels true to size, has a nicely padded inner sole, and gives great ankle support. I will definitely buy another pair, or at least a boot made by Wenger, when this one wears out.

These boots are like putting on an old pair of driving gloves. Right out of the box broken in. They seem to be holding up pretty well, a lot of rubber and it's staying bonded. I'm probably harder on shoes than most and with the 3 year warranty on craftsmanship you can't go wrong. Thanks.

Heavenly Boot - I have never worn a boot that feels as heavenly as the Eiger. Period. In the past, it never really mattered what boot I was wearing, after 9 hours my feet are tired and achy. Not yesterday. The shock absorption/cushioning is heavenly. We spent time on sandy scree, and rocky scree, the boots were stable. I don’t quite understand the tread and how it’s structured to do what it does, but the traction on whatever terrain we were on exceeded any other boot I’ve worn. It feels like the rubber splays to give almost a gecko like grip, not something I’m used to with the more rigid backpacking boots I’ve worn for decades. The leather/nubuck body accommodated my wider than average foot, but hasn’t to date felt overly stretched out (I’ve had that happen). The heel is very stable and the ankle support did keep my ankle from rolling past the tipping point (something I have a knack of doing). The last two weeks I’ve done short hikes with my 50lb. pack, each day building up the time to be safe, till I got to 4 hours. I’m pretty confident a few more hours wouldn’t make much difference. Each day felt great. No knee problems. No foot problems. No body parts were warning me to go back to my more rigid boots. That’s 185 lbs. total on the ladies Eiger. I’m ecstatic and I’ve been singing its praises to everyone in our S. Tahoe hiking club. Bottom line: Wenger has created a 5 star all around hiking boot.
