Perfect in every way. I make turkey jerky out of boneless skinless turkey breasts which I marinate overnight in teriyaki and a sweet 'n sour sauce. After leaving the turkey in the marinate overnight, I re-freeze it long enough to make it firm so when I slice it the turkey is much easier to handle. After I slice it and place it in the trays I shake on one of the many spice rubs with a little cayenne pepper mixed in to make it spicy. I usually figure about 4 hours on high and about half way through I move the trays in reverse order so the ones on top go down to the bottom and that way everything ends up being done about the same time. My only complaint is that I want to buy a few more trays because I need about 7-8 to do the turkey breasts that I buy but I can't find anywhere that sells the trays individually so I end up using my old dehydrator to get them done all at once. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.

Just traded my electric steamer for this dehydrator Waring DHR30. First thing I made was the beef jerky. It came out very good. I followed the directions, good thing I did - cook time was estimated about 8 hours but in reality it took 6 hours. Machine worked good. Only problem - not enough recipes in the manual nor it tells you where to find any. Need to use your imagination to conjure up ideas...like turkey jerky. Next time I will make spicy jerky with my own twist...but overall a great new toy for making snacks!

I'd also recommend: Bella is a good brand. I have a Panini maker lot cheaper to make and taste way better than buying.

I have been using this to make beef jerky for about a year now. I have had great success. The trays are easy to clean, but the base takes some time to clean. I use a paint scraper and gently skim along the dehydrator base to get the dried sticky sauces off. I have found it holds about 2 pounds of meat cut about 1/4 inch thick.

I really love my dehydrator. It's quiet, compact, and gets the job done. The only thing I didn't like is that there is no thermostat on it. Most recipes tell you (dehydrate for 6 hours at 315 degrees) or whatever... and since there isn't a thermostat, you have to try and decipher temperatures what Fan, Low, Medium, and High will accommodate.
