These shoes have a removable insole that the manufacturer includes to ease you into barefoot movement. They recommend that you remove it as soon as you can. I found that the fit is greatly improved without this insole, which causes the front of the shoe to be too snug. There is a zigzag-stitch seam down the middle of the permanent insole underneath, but it isn't too noticeable. They do still run a little small, so best to try the next size up from your usual. I like this shoe because of the zero drop and flexibility, which I need because of toe problems. It's also waterproof and vegan. Planning to do some serious long-distance hiking in these; hoping for the best!

My foot is 9.5 x 3.5. These were too narrow and short for a 40. These shorter and narrower than my Women's Off Road Hi 40. I have several pairs of Vivobarefoot shoes, all 40s, and these are not true to size.
